Avoid This Shop! predatory pricing. I brought my 2005 Saab 9-3 here specifically because it was stalling after getting fuel. Instead of providing an honest fix, this shop attempted to exploit me with a malicious, bloated laundry list of unneeded repairs totaling a staggering $5,200.11.My car is only worth about $2,600 to sell. They literally tried to charge me double the entire value of my vehicle by copying and pasting a standard menu of high-margin maintenance items that had absolutely nothing to do with why I brought the car in. They tried to stack on: A transmission fluid flush for $460 A drive belt service for $440 Front suspension work for $1,741 Rear shocks for $666 A valve cover/vacuum pump for $742 Worse yet, their $968 diagnostic conclusion to replace the throttle body completely ignores the classic textbook symptom of a car stalling specifically after getting gas--which points to a simple, cheap EVAP purge valve issue. They are clearly more interested in maximizing profit margins by rewriting the maintenance history on older vehicles than actually doing honest, pinpoint diagnostics. They charged me an $190.01 diagnostic fee just to hold my keys hostage while presenting this ridiculous $5,200 bill. I declined every single thing and walked away. Do yourself a favor, save your money, and take your vehicle to an independent specialist who actually has integrity. read more

Eric, Joel, and the Team have been nothing but responsive to our needs to take care of our Audis. I have an A4 3.0 manual and A5 3.2 manual that they have provided top notch service over the years. I have dealt with Eric directly for over 10 years. They are honest and have done only necessary work. My wife's A4 was in an accident which did nearly $10k in mechanical damage to the bottom of the car, stripping cables, pans, the ac condenser, slicing the radiator, etc. with no frame or body damage. Eric economically sourced all the parts and the Team put her car back together for us. It drives like new. We are always appreciative of the work they do. read more

Service has gone way downhill. They'll mess up your car and make YOU pay for it. Don't let them fool you, they look professional but they run a scummy business. It's worth it to drive further to get honest service at a better price. Glad I figured this out before I bought a car from these guys. STAY AWAY. read more

this business is one of the few that does everything right. There customer service is the best, the people who work there are knowledgeable and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about the whole organization. read more

This is an outstanding place to get your foreign car serviced, especially Saabs and Volvos. Such alternatives to the dealership are terrific and save you money. These people know their cars. Also, they sell some excellent and hard to find used cars, even unusual collectible models. I feel very fortunate to live near such a place, which is located in a historic town on the Susquehanna. read more

Have used Swedish since we bought our Volvo new, after warranty. Swedish has been going strong for us since around 2006. Honest folks and they do a good job keeping us rolling along. Around 212k on the odometer and still drives like new. Dropping her off for inspection and service tomorrow AM. Highly recommend Swedish. read more

We always have great customer service and repairs done on our vehicles--along with a family owned business!! Thank you!

Swedish Motors respects my time and my money. A loaner when I don't want to wait and they never try to upsell me on services I don't need. They are worth the drive from Harrisburg. read more

Where shall I begin, shall I speak about how the vehicle should of never been cleared for inspection. The rear rotors were so bad they had grooves for ever ( and yes I have the evidence the rotors themselves) but that's not even the worst part the brake shoes only had 6 to 10 microns of pad left not the required 2/32's by state standards. That's not to mention when I pulled the rotors the emergency parking brake parts i.e. liners and broken shoe parts that fell out in my hands and ground. The worst of it is my 5 year old and family and friends when I could get it running which by the way they were trying to get running and put a battery in that was wrong group for the type of car as well under the 800 to 900 CCA required. But check this they ran a system check on electrical but failed to find that the alternator was burnt. By that I mean is I took it to an amish company I know that does excellent rebuilding work. And was informed that the armature and windings were burnt. Now you have to know all the details and that is I was only able to put 1500 miles from june 2018 till March 2019 when I was finally able to fix and replace all rotors and brakes, all new plugs which were not torqued properly, new ignition Coils, oh and replaced alternator. Etc, etc. Since I'm retired from Federal service I still made alot of aquaintences while putting in my 23 plus years. Perhaps the best way to handle this is take the parts and pictures to my friends at state department of vehicle inspections. I'm sure the stations inspection would come under scrutiny for sure. Oh and I have a sleeve full of aces up them. Like hey so called mechanics they kept suggesting I replace the throttle body. Question did you even think to replace the mass air flow Sensor I DID!!! And guess what it runs now. read more

I purchased my 2002 Saab with confidence from Swedish Motors based on their reputation. I was not disappointed. They were very helpful with the purchase process. As happens, my car needed a major repair. Of course, this is something no one wants to have happen. The service staff was great. My car was repaired quickly and to make my experience better, I was provided with a loaner. They had the parts in stock to make the repair. I am a very pleased customer. read more

Outstanding professionals...got the repair right, gave me great feedback throughout, and made sure I was comfortable with all arrangements. A superb value and people in whom I have confidence. read more

I have had my 2001 Volvo wagon for 2 years now, and love the way it drives! But I also have had several needed repairs, I have tried the dealership, a small shop that "specializes" in Volvos, a few common repair places. I always had a bad feeling when I left them after a repair. This time I needed a throttle body replaced, not a cheap repair. But after speaking with Eric, I felt this is the place. It took a little longer than expected, but Eric was always on top of keeping me up to date, they provided me with a loaner which was great! Now it runs like it did when I bought, "glides" down the road. I have finally found a place a I feel good about getting my car serviced at. I would recommend them to anyone needing service! Outstanding customer service! Thank you Eric and who ever the tech was !!!!!!! read more

Had a check engine light pop up on my Audi A4 and thought I would give Swedish Motors a try. Scheduling was easy and quick. During the service they mentioned that they could also do my state inspection, saving me time. All employees I had contact with were courteus and professional. Looks like I have found a better altervative to the dealer for servicing my Audi. Highly recommended read more

Swedish Motors is the best of the best. They are friendly, courteous, knowledgable and honest: a winning combination when it comes to auto repairs. They worked around my busy schedule and got me in. Their repairs were efficient, timely and well-done. I never felt targeted for any unnecessary 'add-ons' that are so common at places like Pep Boys (where I was totally unsatisfied with my experience). Their facilities are very nice and clean: they had a Keurig with coffee and a basket of snacks. I had a few hours worth of car repairs so I sat on the comfortable furniture and was able to get my work done. And fortunately there is not a TV blaring infomercials but instead a quiet, pleasant waiting area with plenty of magazines and refreshments. Really top-notch, really professional and exceptionally friendly. I will absolutely be back. read more

The customer service at Swedish Motors is excellent. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They take the time to explain everything that's going on with my Mini (and it has had its share of issues over the years), as well as to go over all of the options regarding the timing of different repairs and maintenance. Definitely recommend. read more

I was looking for a used car and had called the business a few weeks earlier to ask a few questions . I purchased a used Volkswagen from a friend and made an appointment to have it serviced, inspected and looked over. They did an excellent job and everyone was very nice to work with. Definitely would use them for future service. read more

I brought my Volvo here for a starting issue. They kept the vehicle for 6 days (no one offered me a loaner vehicle). Eric called me and told me the problem was fixed. I paid $300+ for the repair and inspection. After driving 50 minutes to pick up my vehicle, it wouldn't start! I left it in their parking lot and left an after-hours voicemail. No one bothered to call me the next day. I had to follow up for an update. I was very disappointed in their customer service and they certainly do not stand behind their repairs. I will be sending my Volvo back to the dealership from now on. I didn't see any benefit of 30 years of Volvo repair experience their technician claims to have. I would not recommend this repair facility. read more

My wife and I purchased a really cool Saab convertible a couple of years ago, and the deal was easy and fair. We haven't had any problems with the car as we frequently use Swedish Motors for our regular service needs. They are always trustworthy and help us figure out what we need and what we don't. We've used their parts service to order accessories and also their professional detail services. My only request would be that they add some Saturday service options and partly extended weekday hours. read more

Swedish Motors has preformed work on my vehicle many times over the years. They are amazing to work with -an oddity in the auto business - honest, fair, knowledgable, and reasonably priced!!! If you have a Volvo, Saab, or MINI you need to come meet these guys... they will become your go-to shop. They are extremely knowledgable and have the same diagnostics as the dealer and offer OEM parts. Pricing is fair and they have set prices for some jobs. Customer service is superb... always courteous and informative. Loaner vehicles are provided for services scheduled in advance. I can't say enough good things about this shop. They are auto enthusiasts and it shows in the high level of service that they provide. read more
