NEGATIVE STARS/RATING but I have to do one to post !! I can't say anything bad about the other two salesmen at #NyeMotorCompany, however, the owner, Mike, spoke to us in the worst ways, about the 2006 Ford F250 White Lifted pickup they have for sale. We drove to #Manheim #Pa, almost four hours through traffic. The first red flag to anyone looking to buy a vehicle was the truck was running and parked in the front lot when we pulled in. Upon entering, we brought that up, and they said it was just started up and brought around front and we could turn it off. I went outside to turn it off, and the operating temp showing in the dash gauge was in the middle, at normal operating temp...On a chilly day. If you know Ford diesels, you know how long it takes to get the temp gauge from a fresh cold start to normal. Looking over the truck, it was rust free and interior was nice too. They insisted we take it for a test drive. During the test drive, we noticed the truck pulled to the right bad, and we thought it could be out of alignment. While stopping and starting, white smoke poured out of the exhaust while accelerating from a stop. Those that know the 6.0 Liter Ford diesel, understand that is a symptom of the EGR going bad and/or the factory head bolts stretched and a bad head gasket. Once back at the dealer, I looked at the front axle around the wheels, and saw a broken seal/dust cover on one side and signs of the front differential fluid leaking from the axle on the other wheel. Fixing these issues: Front axle work up to $1,500 Replace head bolts with the ARP studs and EGR delete up to $5,000. We went back in to talk to Mike about our observations, starting with it pulling right. He said the roads were crazy crowned, and that's why. I went on to tell him what we saw with the motor. He said his guys spilled some oil around and that was why it smoked. Remember, the white smoke POURED out of the Exhaust Pipe!! He then got overly defensive, raising his voice at us, and insisting he wasn't dropping his price. He also said the motor was gone through by a diesel mechanic and it was fine. When asked for any paperwork from the mechanic, Mike quickly changed the topic. **At this point we didn't want the truck anymore and wanted to talk to him about the issues** I started to tell Mike about what I saw on the front axle, and he yelled again that he wasn't lowering the price. I said that it wasn't for us, and that he should know about the problems. I asked if the diesel mechanic looked at the axle and Mike changed the topic again. Mike finally said he would fix the axle, but the price would stay right at their asking price of $22,995, in a demeaning way. Then he said he would sell the truck to someone else and wanted me to show him the axle items I was talking about. Mike and I went out to look and became argumentative when I showed him. He insisted it was all "normal". I tried to show him my 2003 F350 with 207k miles and he started yelling my wheels were leaking(I have a 7.3 that leaks OIL). Then he showed me another Ford pickup and said it was normal, but was leaking BRAKE FLUID at the caliper!! He kept getting angrier and once we got back into the showroom, He told us both to leave now!!! This in and INCREDIBLY DISHONEST MAN!!!! Please know what you are looking to buy, and here's the shocker, this dealership will totally LIE to YOU!!! Late 2003 to 2007 Ford trucks with the 6.0L diesel motor have known problems that develop and are EXPENSIVE TO FIX!! Once the modifications are done, the 6.0L Ford diesel can be one of the best motors and is known as Bulletproofed!! Easy car buying experience. I purchased a 2010 mini with excellent carfax for $1K under bluebook value. We were allowed to test drive it alone, and I felt little to no pressure to buy it. Everyone was easygoing and accommodating. I purchased the car a half hour after they closed without anyone looking anxious about the time. They contacted two different banks for financing, gave me a reasonable rate and did so in a very timely manner. My questions were answered knowledgeably, and in a friendly way. Heads up, I wanted to put down $2K, but they would only do up to $1K on a credit card. So if you want to put down more bring a checkbook.
