Found this on Yelp when we were in the area and looking for something light to eat for dinner this past Saturday night. We ordered the Suvama and the Mexicano ceviches- large size. The server said that would be enough for 2 people and she was right. The portions are very large. The pieces of fish, shrimp and calamari that they give you are large. I've visited other SuViche locations before and have always enjoyed the food. It's fresh, quick and an awesome price. So when my fam and I were looking for a place to grab a bite post beach, this was our spot. This is a great option for indecisive eaters aka my fam. While some of us can always go for sushi, others look for heavier meals. The menu mix of Peruvian and Japanese means there's something for everyone at the table. For the budget conscious foodie this spot is amazing. We arrived before 3 pm which meant we could take advantage of the lunch specials. For $12 you could order an app and an entree from the list. The two rice dishes from the lunch special we're awesome- there was an arroz chaufa and another rice that was creamy and risotto like. Thank goodness the portion was huge because we all picked at my dad's plate. THEN it turned into post 3 pm- HAPPY HOUR! We were able to mix and match items from the food menu and enjoy some vino, too. The menu of happy hour bites has lots of variety and items are about $6. We opted for two rolls and a happy hour sampler for the table to graze on. My sister and I also split the ceviche Suvama- which is a mix of their classic suviche ceviche and the ahí amarillo. The large is a good portion to share especially when paired with some happy hour bites. Our first time visiting from Chicago on Sunday. We were in South Beach and decided to give this a try. We were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere we liked. We arrived around 2:30pm so it was not busy which I liked. Our server suggested the SuVama Ceviche which was a little creamy. Omg my mouth waters just thinking about it. It was delicious. This was my first meal in South Beach and did not disappoint. My friend and I went during Happy Hour, which had some great deals (sushi rolls, ceviche, sake). I ordered the Mexicano ceviche which was delicious and filling. My friend ordered a spicy tuna roll, ceviche, and sake (all off the Happy Hour menu). Once again, I give Suviche SoBe a try about food and customer service. The second one was good, nothing special, but no complains at all; but the food was TERRIBLE! First, let me say that I order to go, so, I was expecting a good quality as they used to have; the amount of my "Aji de Gallina" was soooo lame, that it wasn't not even one spoon (I really don't know if the have standards for that) but if they, let me tell you that it's not even have of the portion than if you dine in. My "Arroz Chaufa" was completely burnt, I couldn't eat it at all, went direct to the trash, and the "Causa de Pollo" was dry and tasteless. The only one that can be saved are the "Alfajores" (10 points to that). Really, Really, Really Suviche SoBe can do SO MUCH BETTER! And to be honest it is 100% different than the other one in Wynwood. I was around the corner when my girlfriend Andrea suggested to come here. I looked up and lucky us: they have happy hour! Less lucky was I when I stepped into bubble gum the moment I walk into the establishment. But I was given napkins and a plastic knife to get it off my shoe. I love their aji Amarillo as I always get the Suviche aji Amarillo which has the same sauce. The tiradito came with 5 pieces of white fish, corn and the yellow sauce. While seated it hit me: TERRIBLE SEWER smell coming in waves. Gross! It comes off and on. Really kills the appetite. They should fix this. I asked about it and they know about the problem, I was told behind the wall where I sat next to, the trash can is located. So I got up and moved to the other side of the restaurant. We then ordered the natural ceviche, nectar roll, almost perfect roll and Andrea got a michelada: the suvichelada. Everything was delicious. When the waitress came with the tablet to pay, she marked herself 25% tip. I find this highly inappropriate. When paying the customer should mark themselves which tip and her pre marking it... not sure how everyone else feels but we did not like this. We still gave 20% but not 25 as she suggested. TLDR: A bad night with poor service :( Suviche seemed slammed tonight on Saturday, around 8:45. We walked in, placed an order and returned when told (20 min later). The staff was in over their head with orders and our to-go took almost 40 minutes. Which I'd understand except when handed our bag, the server didn't say anything nor apologize. ‍ Had huacachina noodles with steak. It was ordered medium rare and ended up well done. It was tough to eat. Very salty, nice sauce. Ceviche verde was so salty I'd swear someone accidentally dropped extra in. Nice ideas and flavors, but with burnt plantain chips, it was a miss. Bang bang shrimp were also super salty and just sad after sitting in a to go container for a long time while our order was being finished. I can see how this place might be great on a good day, but it's terrible for $50 on a bad day, especially with staff who ignored the backup. read more

I visited Suviche with a friend after arriving too late to our originally planned dinner spot (dang Memorial Day traffic) I think this place did the job and as a second choice option. I won't be mean, Suviche is good, yea, a solid 3. We started off with Tuna Tataki- The Tuna and the avocado was pretty fresh. I would have preferred the tuna be sliced a little thin, though. I enjoyed the peanuts, I think it added a nice flavor combo not to mention a nice crunchy texture. Citrus Fire Roll- I enjoyed this roll very much! Lol I have to admit, I took a huge bite and didn't take the thin slice of lime off the top. It started off yummy and then boom, the lime peel. That wasn't fun, but once I figured out that I had to remove the lime, I was golden. The roll was the perfect size, and had such well balanced flavors. It was spicy but not overwhelming. The eel sauce was amazing! And their ginger, oh man, I have to say I was pleased. I stole all of my friends and ate all mine too lol TNT Roll- I'm not a fan of these elaborate rolls, but I was feeling adventurous at the time. I also was in the company of a fellow fatty, so I knew he would finish it lol. This roll is perfect for those of you who enjoy heavy, rich flavors.
