    I want to state that I HATE leaving negative reviews, and am only doing so because the customer service has been SO horrible. I'd rather just move on but I want to validate if others deal with this. My experiences this year (2021) have included: -being told a "deep clean " was required if there was more than 2 weeks between cleanings (and later finding out this is not true) and therefore being charged $100 extra for services we did not need. (Several instances) -confirming a month in advance that we had appointments scheduled for ongoing biweekly appointments, only to find out the day before the first one that all appointments were deleted -sending multiple emails and texts getting thoughtless replies, such as confirmation of things that I was later told would not work. For instance I left the house and forgot to leave sheets out. I emailed the company where to find the sheets and got a reply that this would be fine. I came home and the bed had been half stripped and not even remade with the original bedding. -having a 30 minute phone call to attempt to resolve the above and secure ongoing service, only to find out later that day that even though I specified Tuesdays are the only days that work for me, they booked me for recurring Wednesday appointments. -NEVER receiving invoices or receipts despite being assured I would -Being charged the wrong amount based on my house size (once I saw the invoice after having to request it several times) and not being charged for a tip (so my cleaners didn't get a tip) despite multiple documentations of me asking to be charged 20% more so the cleaners would have a reliable tip (and being told that it would happen) -My continued notes and requests about how to clean, how to get in the house, and where things were being ignored or more often being told "yes we will tell them!" But then being called later to have to tell them again. Looking at all this, I feel silly that I did not discontinue my efforts sooner. It's been so hard to find reliable help and I have health issues that make it necessary for me to have reliable help. I also wanted to be a good a loyal/easy customer because I know so many of us are having a hard time. Unfortunately the service reps would not pay attention to my needs despite my clear and repeated attempts.

I was super impressed with how easy the onboarding process was - communication was fast, detalled, and I knew exactly what to expect the day of the cleaning. I loved that I received an alert when the team was on the way and their approximate arrival time - so helpful! Since I work from home, the team asked very considerate questions about which rooms to clean first, what would be the most convenient / least disruptive for me, etc. They were efficient, detailed, and I was blown away by the quality of the clean. And the best part - my home smelled AMAZING. I don't know what type of magic they infuse into their eco-friendly cleaning products, but I would like to buy it in bulk please! :).

While I don't believe we will be using them moving forward I respect that they stand behind their work. Our former housekeeper moved so we recently had Purple Fig come in for an initial cleaning with the hopes of setting up a twice a month or bi-weekly service. We were quoted ~$280 per visit which was higher than our old housekeeper but seemed reasonable enough given they bring multiple people. They claimed the first clean was to bring things up to the "Purple Fig Standard" but when I got home after the cleaning I genuinely had trouble understanding what they did while in my home other than leave a candy cane on our kitchen counter. They don't do any laundry (even bed sheets/towels, not looking for a wash and fold service here) which is frustrating but I can somewhat understand given the time a laundry cycle takes. The most egregious offense was that they apparently also dont do any dishes . Again, i'm not asking for a post-Thanksgiving dinner cleanup here but we had a few pans and plates from last nights dinner in the sink and they didn't touch them. Overall, my wife and I struggled to understand what they really did to clean our home. When we decided not to continue with the bi-weekly service they then retroactively charged us $470 for the initial clean. For the price they charge not doing laundry or even tidying up the kitchen when there are a few dishes in the sink doesn't feel worth it. The best part of a cleaning service is coming home to a clean house that you can see and feel as soon as you walk through the door. With Purple Fig, I walked in to a house that felt like the cleaning service had to reschedule for another day

I think overall, the cleanings were mostly good, but it felt like there was always something and at some level I didn't really trust the owner Emma. The first time my apartment was cleaned, a lady showed up with what appeared to be two children who should have been in school. I didn't think much of it at first, but it later became apparent to me that the lady cleaning always brought at least one child with her. None of the children spoke English and the situation made me a little uncomfortable. At some point it came up in conversation and Emma insisted to me that this child was actually an employee and was there to clean my unit. She said she has a hard time finding a job because most employers do not believe she is 18, but that she was. Since she looked and acted like a child, this just strained credulity . . . When I first booked, I asked if she could just skip a large guest bathroom/bedroom and bill us for a two bedroom apartment instead of a three bedroom. I was told this was impossible because of her system and she had no choice but to charge me the higher rate. At some point it came up again that I was paying to have rooms cleaned that I didn't want cleaned and she told me if I paid her via Venmo rather than credit card she would continue cleaning all of the rooms, but at a lower price. I said this was fine, but then they stopped cleaning the extra rooms and told me this was what we agreed to. Fine, but it definitely wasn't what we agreed to. Finally, Emma told me rather abruptly that she could no longer clean my apartment. There was a story that involved someone hurting their back, someone else going to Mexico, and Emma being allergic to cats. It didn't really feel that believable and I can think of other reasons why she would do this, but in the end it felt like an 'ok' resolution since at some level I didn't trust her anymore because of all the stories she told me.

    Review for painting side:…read more We recently had our entire downstairs painted by the Guevara team, and it was quite a struggle to get the job done and left us with additional work after the fact. Summary: Ever and his wife (Ever does the painting and the wife does the cleaning side of the company) are very nice and personable people. They really tried to finish the job strong, but there was just so much prep work that didn't happen in the beginning - which left many areas still needing work. Details: There was little to no attention to details throughout the project; from sanding, filling holes, taking old hardware off in various places, taking down light fixtures, ect. After moving in, we have found more and more areas where corners were cut, and simple prep work was not done. This has left these areas still uncompleted, despite the 9k we paid to get the job done. Additionally, while I should have asked more questions, I felt the contract was misleading with exactly what was going to get done, which led to an additional 4k scope creep at the end of the job (the doors were not going to be painted, as well as half of my laundry room). Which is a big deal! Below are some areas that were simple to do correctly, but not addressed: - Painting over screws in the wall - Neglecting to remove light fixtures - Not filling in holes as needed - Unpainted areas/Not painting all the trim - Getting significant amount of overspray on our brand new 13k wood floors - Leaving previous caulking around various areas and painting over it I also struggled to keep trash picked up out of our yard while their crew was working on our home. There were constantly whataburger bags, coke cans, and to-go containers left all around our front yard, leaving even more work for us. While it looks good from afar, there are spots that still need work in every single room. This is not only frustrating, it has left us feeling like we overpaid, and with buyers remorse. If we hadn't been under such a time crunch, we would have switched contractors mid project.
