My wife and I both work full time, and we have 2 children, so having a housekeeping service has been essential for us to maintain not only our home, but also our sanity. Sharnice has been our housekeeper now for about 6 months, and we are always excited to see her. She visits us every other week, and always does quality work. She takes proper precaution inside our home. She works quickly, but also somehow manages to get all of the details right. Unfortunately, I am not sure the one star would even be valid as I had no service to even judge. This was a no-call, no-show. I booked the service almost a month ago and received a confirmation message. As we got closer, I received an automated reminder texts 48 hrs and then 24 hrs before. The day of, my card was charged. As my arrival window time neared closer; I noticed no employee had been assigned to the job yet from my profile on the company dashboard. I emailed them inquiring if this service was still happening and to please let me know. The hour window came and went and in that period and after I had called twice, left a message, and even used their contact form because I had fully exhausted all my options of communication with them. I chose to go with Maidsway based on a high recommendation from a friend that has used them for years. Even she was shocked and said that if they were running late they always called to give a heads-up. It has been over a day later and I still have not heard back ... extremely disappointing as I had made arrangements for my sensitive pets, rearranged my house so that it would be easy access for them to clean, and planned my day/work schedule around this..during a time where I really needed help with the house and trusted this service to follow through. UPDATE BASED ON OWNER RESPONSE: I did NOT demand the workers to stay for 3 hours... What I told them is I was surprised they took just over 1 hour to clean a home that was twice the size of my last home and took 3 hours to do. I emphasized to them I don't care about length of time but quality of cleaning and apologized several times for asking them to reclean areas they allegedly cleaned. Additionally, your time clock and GPS must be wrong because they arrived right around 8:40 (my window for them to arrive was 8-9 am). They left at 10:05 and I know this because I had to cancel a meeting AND join late to my 10 AM meeting due to the number of follow ups we had. It's sad that the owner tries to rectify this by critiquing the customer who had the poor experience and providing false information to others online. Lastly, I have texts with my husband of the images and saying how "cringey this is" referring to my experience as they were about to leave my home. You can see in the newly added screenshot that this was 9:55 AM... again a lie from the owner and workers on how long they were at the home... I feel bad for their payroll lol. Ps. I still tipped them for their service even after this awful experience... so who do you want to trust?? The owner who is being deceitful or the customer who has been poorly serviced and treated but continued to stay above the line, treat their employees with respect, apologize for inconveniencing THEM and tipping them at the end. ---------------------------------- I'm usually posting on Yelp positive reviews but today is sadly different. After spending a couple hours on the internet reading reviews and answering calls from cleaning services, I landed on Maidsway. They were responsive and on time but the quality of the service was at best a 1 out of 5. The two cleaners finished my 2,000 sq foot home in just over an hour, which the time I don't mind but the depth of cleaning I do. When I asked if they finished the upstairs, they said yes which I was shocked. As you'll see in just a few example pics, the floor looked like it hadn't been touched... the countertops still had marks on it where I had to ask multiple times to reclean the surface. The staff was nice and agreed to reclean but the quality even after wasn't worth my energy. I ended up missing work meetings because of advising on areas that needed more attention as the cleaners would ask me to relook at areas. They also didn't mop the bathrooms and explained their process is to use a spray because its "more shiny". To top it all off, they told me that they weren't informed this was the first cleaning, aka the cleaning you're charged MORE for. This whole process and experience was awful. I immediately called and cancelled my reoccurring cleaning. The most they could do for my experience was charged me the "one time service" price which was still $157.... I hope whoever reads this has a real idea of the service level and quality, because if I had read one like this, I would've gone with another company. read more

However, when I called, the owner tried back peddling. Then when I argued my point, he hung up on me and repeatedly sent my calls to voicemail. Incredibly disappointing service. Booked a deep cleaning for 11am. The first cleaner showed up at 11:55am. The second cleaner about a half hour later. I had paid for a deep cleaning to include cleaning the oven and the refrigerator. They did neither. I also paid for the baseboards to be cleaned and several of those had been missed as well. The owner then had the audacity to email and let me know I was being charged an additional $139 due to "heavy buildup." This was after I had already booked a $400 deep clean. The first team sent by Maidsway were thorough and meticulous. Unfortunately, this wasn't a consistent experience as the following visits were quite sloppy with their work. The ladies were climbing on top of our furniture(beds, sofas, etc.) with their shoes to dust the fans instead of using the step stool/ladders we provided for them. In our most recent visit, our light switches were stained and most floors needed to be re-mopped. If you do choose to try their services, I would encourage you to avoid appointments with Dayle. She was constantly yelling at her partner and most of her work had to be redone by either us or her team members. It is a bit strange that maidsway charges extra for changing bed linens given other service providers all have considered this as standard for a regular cleaning. For the shocking price tag, ($329 for a 1 br supposed deep clean, which I clean weekly) they didn't move anything on my dresser to dust/wipe down, didn't do the shower walls, and I had to ask for a real mop instead of just spraying and wiping the floors. EDIT: the owner got in touch and offered a touch-up clean for free, and refunded the "heavy duty clean" option, which was $85. I booked the service 2 weeks in advance and to schedule it first thing in the morning 8-9am I got a call one was coming late and didn't have anyone arrive till 10:10am. She was nice and a great cleaner. The second one was called in and didn't show up until past 11am. She missed a lot of spots and didn't feel like she communicated as well to our first cleaner. We had a 10 hour drive that day and did not want this to happen. I communicated with the owner a few days before and confirmed we were set. I don't understand how this business has a 4.6 stars when they have nothing but lazy, incompetent workers. My boyfriend and I scheduled a move-in cleaning service and NONE of the details they have listed on their website for what they do for a "move-in" cleaning service were completed. They have listed they clean the fridge, guess what? THAT WASNT DONE. They have listed that they dust, guess what? THAT WASNT DONE. Like my couch is now in a worst state than it started in. Also the water was obviously dirty and long story short, my floors are now a MESS. Like there are clumps of dirt and hair and it's definitely not what I would expect after paying to get my house cleaned. Today was my first time using Maidsway and I was not impressed. I had a cleaning scheduled to start between 2-3pm. At 3:30pm nobody had showed up and I had not heard anything from anybody. After speaking with Michael he let me now they were running late and should arrive within 15-20 minutes. Even then the cleaners did not arrive until around 4:15pm. They only took about an hour to clean. The counters and stove were streaky, the blinds were rolled up instead of being dusted, the floors had various spot where they missed and when I slightly pushed the ottoman in my living room there was a bunch of trash underneath. The cleaners obviously only cleaned where they thought one would look but they did not do a thorough cleaning. Not at all what I expected. I will definitely not be using them again and I would NOT recommend. Update: adding 1 star because the business owner did reach out and offer a free touch up cleaning. I went ahead and started with a deep clean appointment as I became a new mom during covid and had not use cleaning services for a while so my home truly needed it a fresh start. I am shocked by how amazing the service is. The house is spotless! As a new mom during covid, I just don't have time to deep clean anything. Now my bathrooms feel fresh and clean, beds are made, dust is gone from every window shade and counter tops, oven and fridge are clean and smell nice, baseboards don't have bunny dust in them, etc. I have experience with previous house cleaning services here in Austin and so far no one comes close to the level of cleaning these team of two did for us. She did a thorough job of cleaning the baseboards, windows and kitchen. She knew I was working from home and thoughtfully asked if it was OK to vacuum at the time. BEWARE-Do not use them. They came to my house for 2 hours and I couldn't even tell it had been cleaned. I had a flip I needed cleaned and paid extra for post construction and heavy buildup. I have photos and videos of dust everywhere. They didn't even wipe down the counters and they broke my kitchen faucet. When I call they tell me I need to talk to Mike but he's apparently never there-even though I can hear him talking in the back. Mike has never called me back. Someone called me and said her supervisor said I couldn't have a refund but they would do touch-ups for me-I will never let them back in my property. After two years, three young children, a dog, and a my wife suffering from depression, the house was quite messy to say the least. I did what I could, but cleaning isn't my fortè. With my wife's recovery, we decided to move and after much ado, I decided to try out a cleaner. In a somewhat short notice request, I was able to schedule an appointment. I couldn't have been happier with the results! They cleaned everything they said, and were very cordial. I haven't heard yet from the landlord, but I expect I'll get a full return on my deposit. I would give a zero star if possible. I was given a flat fee for our home in Austin for $268. Then after the cleaning, they charged $79 more, saying they had to charge that for a heavy buildup. That's not what we agreed on. I even spoke to the owner before the initial payment. He said that all the extra options like heavy buildup, blinds, oven cleaning, deep cleaning etc would not be charged extra because move-out cleaning includes all that. But, without even notifying us, Maidsway charged us $79 upcharge for the heavy buildup. We thought, 'Ok, as long as they did an excellent job, it must be worth it." On the say of cleaning, they first said they would come at 1pm but said they were going to be a couple of hours late because some workers didn't show up. But the time they finally showed up was 6:30pm. We thought it was too late and doubted the quality of work at that hour, but Michael, the owner, said it should be no problem and promised satisfaction regardless. We went to the property two days after that with high expectations, and we were SHOCKED By how GROSS the house was. We found so many dead bugs everywhere and the kitchen appliances were still greasy. The cabinets were sticky, and none of the blinds or windows and windowsills and headboards and doors were wiped properly. The glass of the bathtub was still blurry and the overall house was a hot mess. I complained and asked the owner to send a different cleaning crew because I didn't trust them. But the owner sent the same crew, and they worked some more, and I used my own elbow grease to help them. However, even after they worked on the house, I was still not satisfied. They did not even come with a vacuum that was able to vacuum the stairs. The owner promised vacuuming stairs in the beginning, but the cleaning guys said they "swept" the carpet on stairs. Are you kidding me???? So I just let them go. We were far from satisfied but I just felt like the two guys who came did not really have the same kind of standard as I do as a property owner. I was angry that the owner ignored my request and sent the same cleaning team. After they left, we cleaned the house some more, but we still had to pay extra money to our property management company. This is what they said, "we will need to get the blinds cleaned again unfortunately. The exterior of the appliances were dirty, inside the cabinets and drawers were dirty, and the cabinets above the microwave was very sticky. The floors also need to be swept." We cannot believe we had to pay $350 for this subpar cleaning service and had to pay extra $300 for the re-cleaning by another cleaning team from the property management. You will WASTE your hard-earnes $$$ if you hire this cleaning company!!!! -------------------------------------- In response to the owner's response to my review: None of the pictures I posted are before pictures. We don't even live there. They're the pics after the first cleaning which took about two hours. How do I know? They set up the work at 6:40pm and then the owner sent me the images of after cleaning at 9pm. 4 hours? No kidding! As a proof, i am adding the screenshot. Oh and the images they sent us were clean because they sent us the good ones. Yes, they did clean the inside the oven and fridge very clean. But they just did not take the photos of the areas that were still dirty. And the next time they came, they spent 3 hours? Two men came and spent about an hour max. I am not complaining about the $350 I spent for move out cleaning. It is the standard rate, but I am talking about the quality of work! Plus, he is clearly lying about telling me that any home that has not been professionally cleaned will be charged heavy buildup fee. - If he told me that over the phone, I wouldn't have been surprised. I even told him after getting extra $79 upcharge, If I ever knew that I would be charged more, I wouldn't have cancelled my prior appointment with another cleaning company who charges much less per hour. We only hired them because of his saying total move-out cleaning at a flat fee with 200% guarantee in the email. It's total 200% disappointment. I had two cleaning ladies in my San Antonio home for move-out cleaning recently, and they charged me $270 and didn't leave any specks. Their move-out cleaning took them 6 full hours. The crew leader hired by Maidsway who came for first time cleaning said he fed his friends who came for work that night (within that 2-hour something cleaning window) and said he should never have fed her. The owner might have good cleaning crews, and he SHOULD HAVE SENT A DIFFERENT CREW as I requested. But he never bothered to do that. Excellent customer service. Michael is super responsive to my zillions of emails and immediately found a fair solution to some unexpected fees that came up while she was here cleaning. The woman who came to our home was very quiet but very professional. She did an excellent job on most things, missed a couple easy things (dusting light fixtures, a couple baseboards here and there), but these are easily remedied with an email and an ask. Don't use this service. Booked a week in advance. Had a 11AM to 12PM window on a Saturday. I paid for my dog to be in daycare to make the cleaning experience easier for them and informed the manager of this ahead of time. They called confirming they would arrive in the scheduled window. They then called at 12pm saying they would arrive in 20 minutes. At 12:30pm they said they were in a little traffic but would be here soon. I texted and called multiple times after that and received no response. I then canceled my appointment around 1:30pm with the main office. They are stating they will refund the service but did not care that I paid for my dog to be in daycare and wasted my Saturday waiting for them. Worst part is the continual lying about how far away they were, again wasting my day and my money waiting on them. They are now stating maid had car issues. She had given multiple different excuses as to why she was running late and kept stringing me along all day. The cleaner did not show up. Maidsway didn't know and, so, didn't call me. When I called them, they explained they took no responsibility because the cleaners are "independent contractors." It was awful. Do not recommend. Due to the pandemic, I have not had my place professionally cleaned since February. I tried to keep up. But it is time. Working from home, however, upped the degree of difficulty. I had to schedule my entire work week around being out of the house for a few hours I also spent several hours each evening over the course of the week tidying up (the kids' Legos and Nerf darts) so the focus would be on true cleaning. My old cleaner had moved. I used Google and found Maidsway. On Tuesday, I scheduled for Friday. I was given a 8-9 am arrival window. At 9:05 am, I called. The woman who answered had no information on the cleaner's ETA. She said she would get back to me. She did not. I called, again, at 10:30 am. Same woman. Same answer. This time she did call back, 20 minutes later. She unapologetically explained they could not reach the cleaner, so I would need to reschedule. I responded that I had no interest in doing so given my experience. To add irony to (extremely minor) tragedy, she was upset with me, stating I was being unfair to Maidsway by holding them accountable for the (in)actions of an independent contractor. In the course of this, I came to learn that their cleaners are all independent contractors. They only send one person (my old cleaner always came with one or two assistants). They do not send a text when the person arrives or leaves (standard practice). And Maidsway makes no effort to confirm the services are being provided as promised. I spent my evening cleaning my own place, again. It's passable but not professional. Given the work-from-home challenges, it will probably be another month or two until I can open up my schedule to get my place professional cleaned. A truly terrible experience.
