It turned out to be $150, which was fine in the end, but it would have been helpful to know in advance. Despite that, I would absolutely use them again based on the quality of their work and their affordability.

They charged us $300 for a 1,509 sq ft house -- despite the fact that the home had brand-new blinds, brand-new flooring in all three bedrooms, and no refrigerator to clean. This was absolutely not a discounted or bargain price. Before hiring them, they specifically promised they would come back and address anything my realtor found unsatisfactory after the cleaning. Based on that promise, I paid them in full immediately after the service. A few days later, my realtor inspected the property and found the cleaning quality extremely poor. She provided them with a detailed list of areas that were still dirty. One toilet was so poorly cleaned that my realtor cleaned it herself. On another toilet, instead of properly scrubbing blue staining inside the toilet, they simply suggested replacing the whole toilet altogether. That alone tells you the level of effort they put into the job. The dishwasher was still dirty. Windows, baseboards, drawers, and other surfaces were visibly dirty. There were even cobwebs still hanging on the walls. When I contacted them to come back as promised, their attitude immediately changed. They were rude, dismissive, and kept delaying scheduling. I gave them my husband's number to coordinate a return visit, and they said the earliest they could come was Saturday (nearly a week later). Then on Saturday, they suddenly claimed they would not return unless someone was physically present at the house to inspect their work. This made absolutely no sense because they already knew the property was vacant and that we were remote landlords. They had completed the original cleaning using an access code with nobody present, so this was clearly just an excuse to avoid honoring their promise. After that, they stopped answering calls from both me and my husband entirely. The house was still dirty, and we ended up paying another cleaning company to redo the entire job properly. Unprofessional, dishonest, and extremely poor-quality work. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company. Respond to the owner's response: you lied! (1) The toilet was totally cleanable. The second cleaner cleaned this toilet with no problem. It looks very clean now. But you even didn't try and simply asked me to buy a new toilet. What a moron. Another toilet shown in the picture showed how my realtor easily cleaned after you still left it dirty! (2) my husband said he didn't clearly agree to have someone come for you because your accent was strong and he couldn't clearly hear what you said. Simply not realistic for us to agree. When he called you, you also didn't tell him which day and time you could come back to clean the house either. Later when I called you to come back, I already explained to you why we couldn't have someone on the spot waiting for you because it was an empty house and we couldn't hire someone to wait for you there. You knew this already even before we let you clean our house at the beginning, because we gave you the house access code to come in and nobody was there! We told you our realtor would come a few days later to check and asked if you could come back to finish cleaning if she pointed out dirty places. You agreed which is why we gave you money to do it. Unfortunately we paid you in full on the same day you did the cleaning. So you can become a moron later. You simply didn't want to keep your own promise to come back to finish cleaning. You could simply say you would come back to finish cleaning what we pointed out and no more trips if my realtor found out more later. However you simply refused to answer our phone and disappeared! If you continue to lie in public here after causing us so much stress and financial loss by hiring a second cleaner, I will further seek related third party for help. I don't believe such a horribly bad company could lie like this in public.

Paid for "Deep Clean", mark missed completely Short Review:…read more$200 more expensive than MerryMaids ($478 vs $272) cleaning with less spaces cleaned than the lower priced service, equivalent cleanliness results. MerryMaids crew stayed two hours longer, did more work. Two stars for the overall experience - Pretty good cleaners by raw talent, extremely overpriced compared to the competition, middle of the market when it comes to cleanliness. Below market customer service for arguing with me about cleaning dirt off the corners of the base boards, then didn't return my sponge. Used soap on all my cast iron without asking, now I have to re-season everything. Long Review: I just paid $478 for a "deep clean" that was in all fairness a pretty good cleaning if it were a routine cleaning. Comparable to the "sparkle" cleaning I paid for from Merry Maids eight months ago for $272, but not as thorough. The only exception being that Merry Maids cleaned my sliding glass doors and the balconies, which was included in the original quote. I paid extra both times for the stove cleaning, the refrigerator etc. I also talked to a guy at their office (I think) on the phone and told him how much more I was paying compared to the last cleaning and that my expectation was that the money spent should be reflected in the level of cleanliness. He assured me that the two ladies were "the best". When they said they were done, I asked about the balconies, and they said they don't do that. There wasn't an option for that on the website either, like there was on the Merry Maids website. I also had to argue with the lady when they were trying to leave after less than 3.5 hours of work (1,600sq ft) to have her wipe down the corners of the wall by the base boards. She said it needed to be painted. When I removed the dirt by dabbing my kitchen sponge on it (they didn't bring any, just rags), she relented and wiped off the dirt. I later found that she apparently didn't return my sponge. I also had to instruct them on cleaning behind my AV system and stand, which I would assume that would be included in a "deep clean". I also found that my cast iron pans were cleaned with soap and were put in my oven wet. That's a big no no for cast because it immediately starts to oxidize. One of the pans is already showing rust so I'll have to strip it, sand it, and start over. If I'm paying for a "deep cleaning," what exactly is being cleaned that isn't part of the regular cleaning? And why would I have to monitor them and guide them on how to clean a house? I figured using a little elbow grease to remove easily removable dirt would be part of the additional fee I paid. I have attached an example of the deep clean on my floor, it took 8 seconds with a different sponge to make it look clean. I'm completely blown away by all these five star reviews. Even if these ladies are being paid $25 an hour, that's more than $300 to the business. That's more than a 60% margin against labor. If you want to pay twice as much as you need to, by all means use these people. I'll be going back to MerryMaids. I was later contacted and they pointed out that I had booked two rooms and the cleaning crew reported five. I responded that I correctly described my house when booking as having two bedrooms and 2.5 baths (clearly labeled dropdown menus), along with the square footage that includes the garage and balconies that were never touched. There is nowhere to list total number of rooms.

I emailed them inquiring if this service was still happening and to please let me know. The hour window came and went and in that period and after I had called twice, left a message, and even used their contact form because I had fully exhausted all my options of communication with them. I chose to go with Maidsway based on a high recommendation from a friend that has used them for years. Even she was shocked and said that if they were running late they always called to give a heads-up. It has been over a day later and I still have not heard back ... extremely disappointing as I had made arrangements for my sensitive pets, rearranged my house so that it would be easy access for them to clean, and planned my day/work schedule around this..during a time where I really needed help with the house and trusted this service to follow through. The supervisor for the crew spoke very little English. She barely spoke to me. No one called to tell me they would be an hour late. While I was on the phone telling the owner that the were an hour late, the supervisor broke an expensive collector's plate. She heard the conversation. When, I asked her how it happened she looked completely unconcerned and said it broke when she dusted the wall with her cloth. Bull, it was retaliatory. She blocked the bathroom to my door when I tried to go into it. I told her to move. She would not, so I shouldered past her. I told the owner how she acted. I made her get out of my house. The rest of the crew stayed and worked. I did not get my money's worth out of them. Don't hire them. The owner did not say that he would dismiss the woman even though she took an aggressive step into my personal space before she blocked my bathroom door. read more

I had a highly disappointing experience with Stuart's Castle cleaning service. We scheduled a 2:00 PM appointment, and I specifically requested prior notification to ensure someone was available to open the door. Unfortunately, this request was not honored. The company claimed their crew arrived at 12:11 PM and began charging for cleaning time from that point. However, I received their first communication at 12:33 PM. I informed the crew that my friend would arrive within 10 minutes, but Stuart called and insisted they started charging starting 12:11 PM. He repeatedly threatened legal action, which felt unprofessional and intimidating. The service was overpriced, and this experience was a costly lesson. I will not use this company again and strongly caution others to consider alternative providers. read more

She provided them with a detailed list of areas that were still dirty. One toilet was so poorly cleaned that my realtor cleaned it herself. On another toilet, instead of properly scrubbing blue staining inside the toilet, they simply suggested replacing the whole toilet altogether. That alone tells you the level of effort they put into the job. The dishwasher was still dirty. Windows, baseboards, drawers, and other surfaces were visibly dirty. There were even cobwebs still hanging on the walls. When I contacted them to come back as promised, their attitude immediately changed. They were rude, dismissive, and kept delaying scheduling. I gave them my husband's number to coordinate a return visit, and they said the earliest they could come was Saturday (nearly a week later). Then on Saturday, they suddenly claimed they would not return unless someone was physically present at the house to inspect their work. This made absolutely no sense because they already knew the property was vacant and that we were remote landlords. They had completed the original cleaning using an access code with nobody present, so this was clearly just an excuse to avoid honoring their promise. After that, they stopped answering calls from both me and my husband entirely. The house was still dirty, and we ended up paying another cleaning company to redo the entire job properly. Unprofessional, dishonest, and extremely poor-quality work. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company. Respond to the owner's response: you lied! (1) The toilet was totally cleanable. The second cleaner cleaned this toilet with no problem. It looks very clean now. But you even didn't try and simply asked me to buy a new toilet. What a moron. Another toilet shown in the picture showed how my realtor easily cleaned after you still left it dirty! (2) my husband said he didn't clearly agree to have someone come for you because your accent was strong and he couldn't clearly hear what you said. Simply not realistic for us to agree. When he called you, you also didn't tell him which day and time you could come back to clean the house either. Later when I called you to come back, I already explained to you why we couldn't have someone on the spot waiting for you because it was an empty house and we couldn't hire someone to wait for you there. You knew this already even before we let you clean our house at the beginning, because we gave you the house access code to come in and nobody was there! We told you our realtor would come a few days later to check and asked if you could come back to finish cleaning if she pointed out dirty places. You agreed which is why we gave you money to do it. Unfortunately we paid you in full on the same day you did the cleaning. So you can become a moron later. You simply didn't want to keep your own promise to come back to finish cleaning. You could simply say you would come back to finish cleaning what we pointed out and no more trips if my realtor found out more later. However you simply refused to answer our phone and disappeared! If you continue to lie in public here after causing us so much stress and financial loss by hiring a second cleaner, I will further seek related third party for help. I don't believe such a horribly bad company could lie like this in public.

I had to stop them twice to re-explain what I wanted done. They cleaned rooms that had been cleaned by my regular cleaning lady the day before. I finally just told them they were done. I'm not sure where the disconnect was, because I specifically told the owner what I needed done and she assured me she would send the right people.

Since this seemed like it could be a technical issue (the website seemed a little buggy), I tried requesting an estimate, but didn't get a reply when I did that either. It is entirely possible if you *do* manage to get a response from them, they do a good job (but if you are reading a Yelp review, you probably aren't an existing client). However, my experience is most businesses become *less* not *more* responsive once you're a customer, so not being able to get a response is kind of a dealbreaker.

The second time they were late and I was shocked - my house looked dirtier than it did before they arrived and "cleaned". Every surface they touched was streaked - mirrors, countertops, and when they "dusted" you could see how they clearly went around any objects on the surface and did not move a thing. Luckily when I communicated my experience, they gave me a partial refund. I spent 5 hours of my own time cleaning the following day - and that was only downstairs! I would not recommend. Ever.
