We have had chocolate cake with flan filling and tres leches cakes. Both were very good and not too sweet unlike the cakes you can get from mass produced cakes at grocery stores. Service is average, but they never seem to have bags to help you transport the cakes in your vehicle. read more

My daughter ordered a Milky Way cake for her brother's birthday. She said the customer service was non-existent. From my view the cake had very little milky way bars in it/on it. The web site showed a cake with the fun sized bars all over the top. Instead there was a very sloppy crisscross of piped frosting lines. In reading the ingredient list we discovered the bakery uses boxed cake mixes in addition to other ingredients. Most boxed cake mixes contain a chemical addition that my daughter is intensely allergic to. The cake itself was okay but just okay. I was expecting much more for $40. One star because I can not give zero stars. Terrible service, no delivery of ordered and pre-paid cake. A few days ago I went personally to the store (25 minutes away from my house), ordered and paid for a cake to be picked up today 5pm. I arrived there today, on time, the cake was not there; they called the manager and she said they "forgot to deliver it", but I could wait until they drove the cake there. How long? "10 minutes". I waited 20 min, no delivery. I got my money back, went all the way to a Safeway 3 minutes away from my house and bought the same kind of cake for half the price that Suspiro Cakes charged me. If the store knows which cakes were ordered for that day, why do they do not check when they receive them? And in case of a missing cake, what about calling the customer and explaining the situation, maybe suggesting a replacement, or alternative cake? After I went all the way there, it would be respectful to at least receive a discount. But the girl at the counter was completely unconcerned. "It's not my fault!" was all she could offer. read more

Hands down, the best cakes I've ever had. My husband and I worked with Suspiros for our wedding, and they did a phenomenal job. After taste testing at least 15 flavors, we decided on their tres leches and strawberry shake cakes. Not only were they delicious, but Suspiros did a beautiful job decorating the cakes. Their staff and baker were very receptive to what we asked for, and were super helpful in making recommendations and suggestions. Our guests were raving about them! Some of the best tres leches cakes I've ever had, they're all great but my favorite is the cajeta one!

Honestly if I could give them one star I would, the cake barely had any fruit when we got two layers each different. The first layer was strawberries/cream & the second was strawberry/pineapple I tasted mostly cream in the top layer & the bottom was dry. Not only that but the cake looked rushed and had quite a few imperfections... we paid $97-$98 for this and to top it off it took them forever to find our order. I talked to someone at the location and they couldn't find my order, waited a few days for a call back and you guessed it NOTHING. So, I called back myself and they couldn't find anything saying they would talk to a manager. They provided me a number to send the receipt to which I did and a few days passed by I had to message them AGAIN!!! They finally sent the info over to the manager. In between all that, I had to go over 45 minutes away to pick up the cake because they wanted to have it at another location when they said it would be at the one closer to my house and the wedding venue. read more

We ordered two cakes from SC recently for our May 7, 2022 Post Cinco de Mayo party with 38 attendees. The two cakes more than satisfied our number of guests. We ordered the "cuatro leches" cake and a chocolate cake. The cuatro leches cake was the hit of the party!! In attendance were 10 native Mexicans and they all raved about the cuatro leches cake as did all the other attendees--we will order two of them for the next party. Ordering the cakes was quick and efficient as was the pick up. No issues whatsoever. In May 2019, we ordered the cake for our Post Cinco de Mayo party from El Super, Tucson. We ordered their "tres leches" cake. Suspiritos cake was vastly superior. Highly recommended; we'll use them again!! read more

They don't know how to run a business and have little to no customer satisfaction. Brief background that I know about this company. This company has branched from Mexico, and in my opinion, they don't know how to serve both demographics. I will explain why. First of all, I do want to comment that I love to support local businesses especially when I know they produce good quality food/product. Aside from that, I am a strong believer in having the community support each other in order to succeed. I love we have the opportunity of tasting diverse foods giving we are such a small city. One important thing to know is, I don't give preference to one culture over another. Having said that, let's get into the nitty-gritty. Let me start by talking about their awful customer service. I have gone 3 times to their location on Broadway and Caycroft. When I walked in, I saw the little shop was very clean and lots of cakes on display. I checked out their flavors and prices. They only had one person manning checkout, in which I didn't think nothing of it. I saw the prices of the cakes and decided to instead buy the pre-cut ones that are I believe $3.00-3.50 a slice. They were delicious! Since I really loved their slices I decided to place a special order for my sister's wedding ceremony. I asked for a rustic looking care (strawberry and cream) no other specific changes. I also asked for it to be for 20 people. The day came for me to pick up the cake and they gave me was a plain rustic looking cake with NO strawberries on top. I paid almost $50 for a plain looking cake. The cake almost looked unfinished. The associate that was helping knew the cake was not done right since she was the one who took my order in person. She called the manager/owner and told him the cake was not done right and what options I had. They apparently never have someone there to try and fix a special order. It seemed although if they just drop off the cakes and let the associates deal with a nighmare. The owner told the associate over the phone I either take it or return it but he couldn't do anything at this point. I of course couldn't leave without a cake knowing it was for a WEDDING CEREMONY. The other thing that bothered me is that the owner doesn't stay on the phone until the situation is resolved (At a business, never have I seen a manager not be on the floor to make these decisions.) The associate hung and gave me the options he gave. I was baffled!!! I told her I needed a cake and that was not an option. I asked to be given TWO cakes that feed 15 people that were already on display ready to go (although I had paid for a 20 people cake, but I had no other option at this point.) I needed a finished looking cake and with strawberries on top. She had to CALL the owner AGAIN (this is how the whole interaction was) and asked if she could give me two cakes that feed for people. He offered to give me ONE cake that feed 15 people and LATER DURING THE WEEK I can go and get a free cake that feed 5 people so it could be a total of 20 people. This is when I knew this business can care less for their customers and their needs. There was clearly cakes available to provide to me that were finished and on display but he didn't want to lose out a couple bucks. Never have I seen a business so selfish and tight with their money. Evidently, their customers don't come first. They didn't care I this was for a WEDDING CEREMONY, and the stress that it would cause. I was so upset that I told the associate I was done with the back and forth and I will just return it and I WILL BUY the smaller cake for the sake of stress. She had to CALL her owner AGAIN, for the return/exchange and she told him how disappointed I was and to be sure I will be reviving this on YELP. After that owner FINALLY decided to give me a free 15 people cake!!!!!! WTH. I could even tell the associate was getting frustrated with his managing skills. You can tell she was young, but spot poor customer service skills. Owner didn't even offer to give me money back for the mistake after ALL of the hassle and I was about done dealing with him so just took the hit. However, I was sure to RATE IT ON YELP! Aside from their terrible customer service, they don't know how to cater to both demographics. Their website is sole in Spanish! They have a lot of work to do when it comes down to managing their business. As much as LOVE their cakes, I will NOT be going back and take my business to them! EVER. After explaining the wedding party why I was 1 hour late for dinner they were so shocked and I am sure It did not leave a good impression of this bakery. Giving this bakery 1 star because the cakes are of amazing quality and the employee was friendly. Aside from both facts, I would give a zero star rating. I ordered and paid for a custom birthday cake the week before it needed to be ready. Upon the employees knowledge I set the pick up time for 10am which is when they open and the earliest I could pick up. Days after ordering and paying, I came at 10am to pick up the cake and the store was closed. No one answered the phone. I had driven for about 40 minutes to pick up this cake so over all it would have been a waste to drive home and back later. I talked to someone on their website chat and they gave me a phone number that didn't work and then stopped responding when I said it wasn't in service, I kept messaging the person in the chat and finally a little before 11:30am I was told that someone would be coming in at noon and that hours had changed because of the corona virus. The thing is, there was no sign on the door saying hours of operations had changed and no posting of different hours on any of the social media platforms. Okay great. So at this point I had driven 40 minutes AND waited 2 hours. The employee opens the store and I say I have an a custom cake order for pick up and they DON'T even have it. I wasn't upset or even planning on asking for a refund until that moment. It took 40 minutes to drive all the way there and I waited 2 hours (not to mention I had to drive 40 minutes home) and a cake I had ordered and paid for almost 5 days before wasn't even made. Absolutely ridiculous. Then the employee didn't even apologize, just made excuses, and then tried to pass off a cake that was sitting in the window display that was smaller and cost less than what I paid for and tried to write "happy birthday" on it in red because that's all she had. It was ridiculous. I asked for a refund again and she said "you don't want this??" and I said no explaining that I ordered something completely different and that it had been a long day for a cake that wasn't even made. Again no apology. She told me I would have to come back the next day to get a refund on my card, so I asked for my refund in cash and then she said she didn't have enough money in the register to refund me. At the end of it all I had to give her change so I could get my refund, and I didn't even get an apology for the mistake of all the waiting. That's nearly 4 hours of poor service. Not to mention I ended up not having a birthday cake. I love the tres leches cakes from this bakery, but unfortunately that won't be enough for me to come back. A few years ago Suspiros made a move from Mexico to Tucson. Finally stopped in to visit their Eastside location at Broadway and Craycroft. The cakes were huge, sounded and looked delicious. When you are a family of two and the cakes don't freeze well, the person in the shop suggested cake by the slice. There was a fridge display full of choices. The slices were $3 each or buy one get one free. I have to admit I didn't ask if this was a late afternoon special, an all day special or just today. Definitely a failure on my part to obtain vital info. I picked one chocolate and one white. When we ate them we shared the two flavors. Buying two slices is the way to go if you are into portion control. There was no way to overindulge!!!! If there would have been a whole cake who knows how much more we would have eaten. The next day when my girlfriend was going to pick it up she was informed the cake was taken by the manager from the 12th location two hours before for another client. It was the only tres leches cake they had prepared. Excuses is all my girlfriend heard from Mayra as she cringed. The people running this bakery can't keep their word and almost ruined my daughter's birthday. Luckily Food City was able to help us out. I'm glad too because the quality of their cakes and services are far superior to Suspiros. In fact we went back for another cake for my birthday. There are SO many varieties it can be overwhelming, but the employees are always helpful and will walk you through the different types of cakes. First time here. First impression. It's very clean and had a simple layout which I like, however I was very disappointed I was not able to get a tres leches cake I wanted. I was given the excuse they ran out due to a promotion they had for December and they told me to go to the other stores! Unexcusable! If you're going to run a promotion make sure you have enough product on hand! I was really counting on this tres leches cake. Now the cake I ended up buying which was a cajeta flavored cake, was actually pretty delicious. Of course I had to pay full price for it, which was almost $30. Yes these cakes are pricey. This was my first (and last) time getting a cake here. I asked if they do custom cakes and was told yes. I took in a picture of what I wanted it to look like and was told it wouldn't be exact, but it would be close. I was required to pay in advance. I was terribly disappointed when I picked it up. We bought four cakes from this company last week. We had to order 48 hours in advance and they cakes were supposed to be made the day before. They were not. Two of the four cakes were very dry and were inedible. I asked them for a refund on the one chocolate cake. They refused. They offered e 50% off the next cake. I told them there would be no next cake. Fry's cakes are sale for half off are less dry than these cakes and 1/4 of the cost. They are beautiful but just awful. read more
