NEW OWNER (Brian) as of October 1st...brakes on my suburban were squeaking so I assumed it was time for new pads. Brought it into suspension plus in encinitas and told them to call me when it was ready. About an hour later I received a call from Brian telling me that the pads looked great and I definitely did not need to replace them! A week later, the fuel pump on my pickup crapped out so I called around for some estimates...Suspension Plus came in 250.00 bucks cheaper than the next closest estimate. I needed suspension work so I went to Suspension Plus in Encinitas. I found out that they are a full service mechanic shop. Luis is a master mechanic who purchased this business about two years ago. Luis is outstanding, honest and fair. I live in Encinitas and I would highly recommend Suspension Plus to anyone looking for an outstanding car mechanic. I was going to go on a long family vacation to Utah over some rough roads. I had a banging in my suspension that another local chain was unable to resolve. I scheduled an early morning appointment with Luis and he fully diagnosed the problem. It was a complex problem that took 1 1/2 hours to figure out in a very thorough, and tested diagnosis. No charge for that! This guy wants to get it right the first time. He provided me a fair price to fix the problem(s) and did not try to upsell me. He did however point out other issues that were happening under the car and gave me alternatives, from minor fix and repair to full replace. The bottom line was he perfectly fixed the problems. The car performs as good as new and we had a great vacation. He guarantees all his work for one year, no charge if there is a problem. And in fact I needed the steering wheel slightly centered, and he got that done with no charge no hassle because it was part of the original job. Talk to Luis and you will see what I am saying. Took my BMW suv to the dealer around the corner for recall work in which they made a list of things that needed to be repaired as well to my vehicle! Have been coming to see Louis and Jack a little less than a year and they completely proved that the diagnosis was Bogus,..Nothing was accurate with what the dealership was claiming! Truck was fixed,..$85 dollars later and I left once again feeling hope that there are still honest people out there! These guys rock! read more

Can't possibly say enough about Chris (shop manager) and this place. Our landlord had just brought his truck back from Suspension Plus for some new uppers, lowers, and strut maintenance and was very satisfied. Since I had been in the market looking for a local shop to install a complete suspension setup on my 3rd gen Tacoma, I figured I'd give them a call. Spoke with Chris over the phone for MAYBE 2 minutes, and I was sold. He opened up an appointment for me on short notice, and had a complete install done in a single day! The price was easily the best around, but the quality of the work is what really stood out. It was a very involved job, but even the owner (Louie) had his hands dirty working on it all day, and the results really show. Where do I start??? A few days ago... My car broke down and the engine needed to be replaced. I had it done by a "mechanic" but was not happy with the outcome. So... I was referred to Suspensions Plus. I took my car in today, and I was soo impressed. I got to meet Luis and Bonnie (the owners) and they are super nice and you can see they treat their employees like family. Jose worked on my car...right away he knew what was wrong with it. He went far and beyond to get my car fixed and check all the little details... He found things that were supposed to of been fixed by the other mechanic. An amazing place to go. Went for a suspension inspection and they changed my oil for 30$ that's 7qts of oil and an oil filter. Louie's vast knowledge of mechanics makes this shop a go to place for anything and everything you need done for your vehicle... I told Louie about several quotes I have recieved on other issues with my vehicle and he assured me that he would beat that price:)! I don't just see any mechanic when I have car issues because half the time you are getting ripped of maybe more but my dad told me about suspension plus, tucked away off el camino real like a little ally. We have taken all our cars to Loiue for years, old and new, Fords, Volvo, Jeep and Subaru. He is honest, very fair prices and gets the work done quickly. He does all our repairs from oil changes to major repairs. I never take our cars to the dealers anymore unless its something only they can access especially volvo's. I've used Suspension Plus a number of times for various repairs on my car. As a single woman, I never feel like I was "taken" as can happen elsewhere. These guys are my go-to for pretty much everything now. I won't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Brakes went out on my Expedition 3 days before Christmas. UUGH! I had been totally ripped off (on my other car) at a brake place in Encinitas, so I was very leery of any repair place. Especially since I was a woman going alone. Decided to go w/ the yelp reviews and picked Suspension Plus. SO glad I did. Enrique and Brian are the best. Totally upfront and honest and super nice!!! My brake job (including front rotors) cost less than 1/2 what the other place charged me and they threw in a free oil change!!!! Just went back for a tune-up. Again, they are great. They even drove my car next door for me to get it smogged, so I wouldn't have to leave work in the middle of the day. Unbelievable service. read more

Great to see that a place like this exists in a service that is traditionally full of lazy crooks and idiots who take advantage of people's lack of knowledge and trust. Having spent 20 years working on, building and racing cars I know a little more than most about car repair issues. I have seen and heard some unbelievable crap from other repair shops. Amazing!! Luis is fair and honest. I needed a new rim and front axle. He gave me a great price, was super fast with the fix and resolved the issue. A sure sign that he is respected and good is that guys from other auto repair shops in the area go to his shop for repairs on their own cars, which is what I witnessed. Took my pregnant daughter-in-law's car in on Saturday 12/10/2011 to replace two tires as one of the fronts had a blowout and AAA recommended an alignment due to the wear pattern. Brian had three cars on the racks but stopped and took care of us without a wait. He asked if we could come back late in the day, and we agreed. When we got back, he mounted two new tires (got us a good deal on on Yokohama tires), aligned the wheels and told us it had a bad tire & alignment wasn't too bad. He had the car ready for us by the end of the day as promised, told us the brakes were OK,and while we were there, topped off all the fluids including brakes, told us why the red warning light was on and got us out very efficiently working all the time while discussing Reggae music with my son. Great personality, excellent work, on time and gave that extra, over the top, customer service at a very competitive cost. read more
