I have to add something else to my recent review. I began hearing a noise again on what I believed was my wheel bearing again. However, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called George and Jorge who allowed me to bring it in promptly and they test drove it, took the wheels off, listened to the wheel bearings, then also applied the breaks while spinning the wheel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This has greatly boiled down to the accident I was in, however, the break job I received at Coastal Foreign Auto (the shop who referred me to Suspension Plus for a sooner appointment for the bearings) was something they actually refunded me for. I was debating on making this review but I am truly disappointed. My vehicle needed an alignment and tire rotation so I looked on Yelp to find a near by shop and told my husband about this one. We wanted a trustworthy place before a long trip. The day before handing the car over we checked the oil under the hood and it matched the meter at 60%. They did great and they found parts that needed replacement so we made the commitment to get it done with them that same week. Nothing seemed off when we picked up the car until my husband double checked the oils before the trip and there was no oil in the engine! I hate to suspect that the shop drained the oil purposely so we thought maybe my car is burning oil. So we filled the car with oil and brought extra oil for the trip. Now back from the trip the oil ran through the engine perfectly! Again I hate to assume and suspect a business of doing such a thing but how else can we explain such a coincidence. read more

What can I tell you? On a recent Friday I went to gas up at our local gas station. My mind must have been miles away as I mistakenly filled up (1/2 a tank) with Diesel fuel. I must not have realized this immediately as I drove a few miles with the wrong gas in my car. Then the light in my brain went on and I knew that this would be a costly mistake. The next step was easy. I went to 'yelp' to find who could take care of the problem and found that many repair businesses are not equipped to deal with hazardous waste. It was then that I came upon "Suspension Plus" where gas disposal was not a problem. The owner of the business, Luis, made me feel at ease and related to me that many others have made the same mistake. Luis explained my options and what the cost may be and told me that he might not have the car finished until the next morning. Besides being so understanding, when came time to pay for the service, Luis said " it didn't take as long as I estimated so I am lowering the price I quoted you". You don't find many like Luis and as a result he will gain a new customer and be recommended to our friends and family. read more

These guys aren't your best option for car repairs especially if they have to diagnose something. I brought my Kia in so they could check out the steering rack and the right half shaft and they didn't check the rack and they couldn't install the half shaft cuz they claimed the control arms that I installed were 3/4 inch too long which wasn't the case cuz I just had Evan's Tire replace the steering rack and both half shafts and there wasn't any problem with the length of the control arms. They were hostile and recommended that I go to the dealer and I was charged $202.50 just to put my car back together and they didn't even offer to get yhebisrt from another vendor or order from the dealer. If they were nice to me and offered oem parts I would have allowed that since they'ed actually got better cuz lots of aftermarket parts don't fit well. I called them today to discuss things and they're so self absorbed and they think they didn't do anything wrong... well ya did but I guess you'll be er learn. Steer clear...pun intended read more

Made an appointment a couple days ahead for 4pm on a Friday for a wheel alignment. Friday comes along and I take off work early. When I get there the guy tells me "not sure if we have time, all our stalls are full". I proceed to tell him that I made an appointment and he says "well can you come back Monday?" Uhhh..I then probe him about whether or not they even take appointments and he says "sorta". What a waste of my time. What the heck did I make an appointment and leave work early for if it's really first come first serve? Worst customer service ever. Definitely not coming back here. Unorganized and unprofessional. Subaru was overheating, brought it in on the recommendation of a friend. I later found out, Subaru's are famous for head gasket problems, they've had recalls and more. Luis checked it out, didn't see the head gasket issue, proceeded to suggest changing the following, one at a time (and stopping if the problem was resolved): thermostat (first), then water pump, then radiator. The order was given by how expensive it was to fix. Kind of an educated shooting in the dark, on my dime. He also found a few more things that first visit and I was out the door w/ an 800$ bill. But it kept overheating, so I took it to another shop, they tested it, the head gasket had failed, and best to junk the car or be willing to spend 4000$ on a gasket repair and a possible engine replacement. So, I could have ended up sinking another 2-3k into the car if I'd gone down the prescribed road of fixing the thermostat, then water pump, then radiator. I think it's a good shop, but here is the key - YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR CAR BEFORE TAKING IT IN. That's my 0.02. If I need a suspension, or brakes, or whatever, I'd take it here in a jiffy - he knows what he's doing. But, if my car is making a funny sound and I need to figure something out, I'd find a guy who can really do that and pay for that service. Having someone who can diagnose a problem can save you thousands. read more

New owner Luis ("Louie") used to manage this place under a different owner. Now the shop is his. He's been in the business 30 years, and he does great work. Currently, he's doing everything himself, which keeps the quality of the work top notch. What can I say about Louie? His quote was reasonable, he communicated well with me about the work being done, and finished the work when he said he would. He even fixed a few other problems he found along the way (bad grease seals and a burned out wheel bearing) and kept the price the same as he originally quoted me. What more could you ask? Professional, honest and down to earth. Bring your suspension or other car problems to Louie, he'll have things fixed in no time at a fair price. read more
