Be-careful - your diagnosis fee does not go towards your bill. I went in wanting to explore an accretion issue and oil leak. I was charge 2 diagnostic fee's = $460. Crazy. If I can give 0 stars, I would. I took my LR4 in between September 12, 2024 and October 17, 2024. I only drove the car in because of the recommended "70K mile service inspection." I was NOT given any cost quote, but when I came to pick the car up, I was surprised to pay close to $7,994.77.the office manager. Then about a month later, my car wouldn't start and had it towed back to California Autohaus. I was charged another $2,383.67 to get a new alternator and battery. When I picked my car up, my brakes made horrible squeaking sounds... they said "nothing can be done about it." I cannot believe that she paid more than $10,000 but is left with a vehicle that still has problems. read more

I wish i can say good things about this shop. I used to be long time client with them, when the ownership changed i didn't feel like the needing of to look for other shops but i learned the hard way. My fist issue was the Range rover hse diesel, they never figure out the issue and i had to keep coming, than one day, broke down and i tow it to there, after endless diagnostics fees they didn't really figure out what is actually wrong with it. Then i was in look out another range rover which was serviced and maintained from them, I talked the manager Kristin she told me they are behind their work and would honer me the warranty of their work on the car. But it looks I made a mistake to trust their employees, so my word to anyone reading this, if the employee says we would honor the work or warranty on a specific case DO NOT TRUST THEM, maybe better check with the owner if they are honor the warranty. I personally not a person to write a review, i usually move on which i did in the past but this is second time happening with this shop. The issue in my car was done by them and i trust their past manager regarding on that they would honor their own work done in to the car. Now the new manager saying we are not honoring because they no longer work with Kristin and i have no way to prove. It is what it is, they are the one worked on the car and repair still under warranty but just because i cant prove what the old manager Kristin words. I am stuck with the large repair. I went into California Autohaus for an oil change after their great deal reached me by mail. I had no appointment and just called and they were able to squeeze me in that day before closing. SO NICE! I don't have a European car and they went out of their way to order me the filter my car needed for the oil change, still guaranteeing it would be ready by closing. They were right! My car was ready for pickup with 100% oil life and a complementary inspection of the condition of the rest of my vehicle. Everyone was so helpful and professional. read more

The good: I found Kristin at the front desk to be friendly, helpful, and really knowledgeable. I appreciated that she was both generous with her time and knowledge no matter how many questions I had. They also were able to accommodate a same day drop in and worked very quickly since we were on a time crunch. The bad (or maybe just questionable): The pricing seemed incredibly expensive compared to other local shops and dealerships. It was recommended our car battery was replaced and we were quoted $770 for both parts and labor. Our dealership laughed when we told them what we were quoted and said it shouldn't cost more than $280. I do believe that because we were from out of town and in a time sensitive situation, we were quoted higher. There were other services that were recommended that we also ran by our trusted car shop at home who said the pricing felt excessive. Even their diagnostic was $300. I'm sure the service is really top notch if you're willing to pay -- just make sure you know what the price should be so you can make an informed decision! read more

I brought my Jeep in to get a new head gasket and to replace the thermostat. Another shop had diagnosed a broken head gasket, but that shop doesn't replace them. I took my Jeep to California AutoHaus, and they conducted a more detailed diagnostic and discovered that the head gasket was fine. They replaced the thermostat and ran another block test to re-confirm that the head gasket was good to go the next day! The minute I waked in to California AutoHaus in Encinitas, I knew my Jeep was in good hands. My service rep knew exactly what was going on, and based on my description of how the Jeep was driving, she was pretty confident that the head gasket was fine. She was right!! When I came limping in, fluids were pouring out, lights were going off, different codes were being thrown... I was a mess. California Autohaus found I was leaking coolant and animals had chewed up the wires on my belly. They quickly replaced the leaking water pump and meticulously traced down each and every shorted and nipped wire. After going through that I needed a vacation, so I packed up my hobbits and I took them to the top of Cali to see the redwoods, I got to check Headwaters and Tall Trees off my bucket list. Seriously, California Autohaus took great care of me and my vehicle, keeping me informed at every step and being understanding, friendly... just great dealing with them. Then the price was what I expected they do quality work, take pride in their work at a good value. I'll always take my vehicles here for minor or major repairs. Is not a coincidence all negative reviews are consistent. Paid for a diagnostic, specifically emailed Kristin to advise of what was needed to be checked. Based on their diagnostic repairs were over 11000 car was not fixed and the follow up repair was what we initially asked them to repair or check. Kristin had zero accountability, she simply came she never slaw the email, email was forward and still took no accountability. Car was not repaired and cost over 11000. Reported to BBB. read more

I brought my car in for an intermittent calibration warning. I was quoted $590 to recalibrate. Two days and phone calls between me and "service" manager Todd, yielding him telling me they needed an additional $420 to "diagnose" the calibration warning. In between, they wrote up an issue with my "battery" being low. When I denied further "inspection" and picked the car up, it now had a "new" constant warning light that was "e-diff not available". The first two reasons these faults occur are a spike in voltage and low battery voltage. When I got home, I charged the battery and hard-set my car. Problem "fixed". Julio/Todd and the mechanic deceitfully tried to "milk" more money from this repair. The mechanic even "lied", stating he "hard reset the car". The car requires a pin after reset. I am the only one with the code, so I know in fact they did not. Liars, Cheaters, and I even gave them an opportunity to make things right. They choose not to. As a longtime community staple, I am advising everyone I know to avoid this place. read more

Excellent customer service by Kristen and the techs. I dropped my LR3 off there when I couldn't figure out a no-start problem after a ride height sensor swap. I haven't been to a mechanic in probably 25 years, generally don't trust mechanics, but put my faith in them due to the Yelp reviews. I gave them my patience to diagnose as I assumed it would be a simple electrical error, though I couldn't trace it back myself. When they got to it, it didn't take long to diagnose a missing fuse. OMG, I'm embarrassed as an engineer myself that I pulled the wrong fuse when working on the suspension. They figure it out! I thought my truck would be junk but nope. Honest and smart shop.
