Really love the cakes here. Love how moist they are and how light and fluffy the icing is. They have some incredible flavors. The red velvet is probably my favorite.

I've been meaning to write a review of this bakery bc we're here a lot lol. It's always very clean and reasonably priced. Service is consistently efficient and friendly. Hours of operation are good and we always get a ton of pieces of cakes and are never disappointed! Great for picking up a dessert to bring to any get together bc they're so tasty and festive looking!

Every item is beautiful and the taste matches the appearance

Susie Cakes is located on busy Chestnut. It is a smaller store but with lots of pretty goodies. Yes it is pricey but we solve that by cutting our goodies in half. Got some cupcakes and a whoopee pie. First night we split my least favorite, hubby's choice, a cupcake. It was moist chocolate with a nice hint of coffee in the icing. Both of us sucked in our breath, heaven. Last night it was the huge whoopee pie. It was two big chocolate cookies held together by delectable vanilla icing. Do I separate the parts like an oreo? I ended up eating my half as one piece. My one wish is to work where they make these goodies and have a big spoon to lick the bowl, especially that icing. Friendly service.

What a pleasant surprise! I saw Susie Cakes while walking down the street and decided to check it out. I ended up getting the red velvet and was impressed with how moist it was. While the frosting was a little sweet for my Asian taste buds, I really enjoyed it. I do wish I had noticed the option to get three mini flavors before my purchase. My husband said it tasted better than my favorite cupcake back home which is a huge compliment!

Love me some Susiecakes! Went by late and most of the good flavors were gone so went with the mini vanilla and super good. Just the right amount ! I should come back earlier to get their festive flavors !

I ordered the Chocolate marble cake and it was delivered to my door perfectly! Such a beautiful cake for my husband's birthday, we haven't cut it yet but if it tastes as good as it looks that would be great! Thank you SusieCakes. Update: we cut the cake and it is absolutely delicious, please support this bakery you won't be disappointed.

Delicious cupcakes, love the frosting and freshness of the cake. Pretty boxes and bags as well. The showcase is beautiful and makes your mouth water. Staff is friendly and helpful, quick service.

I thought the service was amazing and there was a wait on a Friday eve. I got 2 slices & a flourless cupcake.( which was amazing). The cake slices were for a friend's birthday. Its a cute spot for-sure but the slices were dry and a lil too sweet IMHO. Will most likely not return bc the cake was non wow.

Received a box of mixed cupcakes for a birthday and they were the perfect size. Adorably decorated with an assortment of vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes. My personal favorite was the mocha chocolate cupcake, which had a great mocha flavor and didn't seem as sweet as the others. Frosting is very sweet and with a mini cupcake, there's less cake to offset the sweet frosting. If your favorite part is the frosting, then this is the cupcake for you! If you're like me, I had to remove half the frosting in order to eat the cupcake. I'm a minority because both the Hubbs and the Babes thought the cupcake to frosting ratio was perfect. The Babes has already asked when we can get them again so they were definitely a hit! Per the box instructions, I left the cupcakes out overnight in the box they came in rather than refrigerating them and should've placed them in a sealed container because the cupcakes were on the dry side the next day.

Amazing amazing amazing! I say this and don't even like cup cakes but I was told these are the best in the business and it is absolutely true. I got the Strawberry cupcake and it wasn't overly sweet and had really good flavor. I found out they are opening up other locations all over the county with their newest location in Nashville. They also shop nationwide!

I love this mint green color

The shop is cute and uniform like they all are. It's in a busy location that easy to find, the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable of the product and aren't pushy or rush you. The sweet confections from here are so delicious, rich, and quality. It can be pricey but you're paying for something that well worth it

Many cupcake shops have come and gone but Susie Cakes is still around running strong. I love coming here anytime I'm walking around Chestnut, usually going to the Apple store. They have full size cakes in addition to cupcakes but the slices are too big for me, so I just stick to the cupcakes. They are pretty good at rotating different flavors due to the season. A great thing is that they are open until 8 pm! Parking around here can get really congested sometimes so if that's an issue there's the Laurel Village location which has a parking lot which makes it easier if picking up an order, otherwise there is a parking garage on Pierce street.

Cupcakes and a slice of cake. So adorable.

Once the bakery opened at 9 AM the line moved fairly fast, but by opening time the line was down two blocks and wrapped around out of sight. We'd heard about B&C lines but even this on a weekday morning was surprising. Overall the pastries were very good, I will say that the savory pastries rank higher here than anywhere else I've been, but the sweet pastries don't. We got the Strawberry Rhubarb Cruffin, Lemon Bluberry Bun, Potato Artichoke Croquiche, Bacon Egg & Cheese, and Sam's Blood Orange Olive Oil Cake. The Croquiche was my favorite of all of them, and it was great warm, with a nice creamy filling. From the sweet pastries, my favorite was the Strawberry Rhubarb Cruffin - the rhubarb taste wasn't very strong but it was overall flaky, not too dry (even when eating it later in the day), and the cinnamon coating also didn't clash with the strawberry, vanilla, and orange. Least favorite was the olive oil cake; it was slightly bitter and the olive oil taste was dominating. These pastries are very large. Split between 2 people 3 of them were enough for us to be so full we saved the rest for later. I also got the Brown Butter Butterscotch Latte (iced), I'm not usually a fan of coffee but it was really good (it's very sweet so as a non-coffee drinker that worked out for me - the syrups overpower the coffee taste). The inside is cute with a pastel pink theme, we were able to snag the two seats by the window. I also liked the merch for sale and got a small print of the storefront. Definitely worth going too once, but due to the line I probably won't return until a monthly menu comes out that has a lot of things I desperately want to try. It's a top 3 bakery in SF for sure.

Our cousins were familiar with both bakeries and graciously volunteered to be our foodie guides as we drove to these two bakeries Saturday morning. After visiting Tartine and B Patisserie, Arizmendi was our final bakery and our last stop on our Bay Area foodie tour. Just like the other two bakeries, Arizmendi was a popular destination, it was different than the other two in the selection of the pastries, and I highly recommend their corn cranberry scone and their cheese focaccia. Arizmendi is also located in the Mission District specifically on Valenica and 24th Street. The bakery is in between a Royal gas station and the KitTea Cat Lounge. Parking consists of street parking and just like the other bakeries, parking could be challenging, but Arizmendi is worth the trouble parking and walking to this confectionary paradise. This bakery is a business where their baked goods are enjoyed at home since there is minimal seating. What's unique about this bakery compared to the other two is how the baked goodies are selected. It is self serve where it's a little hectic trying to maneuver around other customers to pick the pastries and breads you desire. The young black lady behind the register who checked us out was courteous, friendly, and took care of us quickly. As you enter Arizmendi, there are four wooden display cases with plexiglass holding scones, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pies, croissants, focaccia, cookies, and shortbreads. As you peer through the plexiglass to decide what to select, make sure to grab the provided wax to pick up your baked goods and place them in the provided bags. One of our friends asked us to grab scones, so scones were one of the items we knew we were going to purchase. My wife selected other items, but I asked her for a focaccia because my cousin said that Arizmendi was know for their pizza breads. I highly recommend you purchase their corn cranberry scones. These scones are hearty, the cranberry is plentiful, and I really enjoyed these while I was drinking a coffee at home. The focaccia I picked was a cheese focaccia made with poblanos, kale, and queso fresco. That square pizza bread was a savory revelation where I devoured that as snack after heating it in our home toaster oven. It was cheesy, the poblanos and kale were tasty, and I completely agreed with my cousin's assessment about their pizza bread. We're so grateful to our cousins for taking valuable time to serve as our foodie tour guides during our trip to San Francisco. Bay Area denizens are blessed to have three bakeries where they can satisfy their pastry, dessert, and bread cravings. We're fans of Arizmendi's scones and pizza bread.

They offer a variety of baked in house items that range from the savory ( mushroom and cheese "tart") to the sweet of banana croissant invention. EVERYTHING is tasty. Items are limited in quantity, so go early. The mushroom green onion tart is delish! It has a generous amount of mushrooms, manchego cheese, and light green onions. It's a lovely flavor profile. The only downside is that it's not given to you heated. Eating it cold was not optimal. The banana "tart" because I don't recall the exact name, is to die for! It's sweet, it's sooo good! It's like banana crack. It has caramelized parts to it, and you won't want to share it!! The double backed pistachio/blackberry croissant is a food group all its own. It's everything you want in a pastry! The Thai tea was just OK. Super pricey for the amount. It's not that traditional taste profile.
