Rolled two 6's!! My beer was 0.99!
Canary H.

I've been a patron of Sushi Stop for years! I've seen it go through numerous changes, good and bad. It hasn't stopped me from coming to make my usual sushi pit stops whenever I'm in the area! I noticed the change that the made since I last was here was adding a ramen collaboration. They also changed their menus to become a cute flip book. We always play the beer dice game, and to my luck, I got a glass of Sapporo for $0.99! Woohoo! We ordered the salmon sampler, a salmon avocado roll, rainbow roll, salmon truffle hand rolls, and a baked salmon. The customer service was decent depending on who was serving you. Some servers were carefree, some were detailed and attended to your needs. Overall, it doesn't stop my love of enjoying sushi with decent pricing. Thank you for the meals!

Very decent for the price. We even got a discount and free desserts when posting a photo on insta. We got a premium nigiri set for $45. It was good. The tofu salad needed more dressing. Prob need to add lime or some ponzu in it as well. It was a bit bland, imo. We also ordered the soft shell crab. It was alright. The free mini pancakes were meh...I wouldn't get it again. It was actually my first time doing dine in here. Other times, I ordered Togo. Line was always long when I arrived to pick up my order. Never had an issue with the foods. Packaging was always great. It was nice to try dine in. We came when it just opened so we got seated right away. Service was good. RR avail

SushiStop in Pasadena is a small spot, but the food is consistently delicious. It's our go-to place for affordable, tasty sushi with great service. My absolute favorites are the popcorn shrimp sushi, baked salmon, and baked scallop sushi--each plate comes with four pieces and is typically around $5-$6, which is an excellent value. I also love their blue crab hand roll. They add this incredible mayo-based sauce to their rolls that takes everything to the next level--it's seriously so good. Service is always friendly and efficient, and we usually get seated pretty quickly. Another big plus is their rewards program. If you come often like I do, it really adds up and makes it even more worth it. Since it's located in downtown Pasadena, parking is easy with nearby parking structures. My husband and I love this place, and it's hands down our favorite sushi spot in the area. Highly recommend.

Bought a lunch special $9.99 poke bowl to go and was surprised how big the bowl was! It was delicious and loved the fresh orchid flower! Will try other items in my next visits. The gurl who took my order was very nice u was happy to tip her. Inside seating looked nice clean and wasn't too busy on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Was in Old Town Pasadena and needed to get a quick lunch. Sushi Stop has some great lunch specials starting at $9.99 and from what I saw, the portion sizes were very good. I opted to get a nice big bowl of Ramen with the extra char sui and it did not disappoint. For the price there was a lot of wonderful, flavorful slices of pork. The ramen was good and hit the spot. The food is amazing for the price. I was kind of skeptical about ordering ramen here because it's a sushi place but I did anyways and it was probably one of the best ramens I've had. Service was also great.

Spicy garlic ramen lunch $12.19!

My server was Michelle, super cool server no fuss and gets me the order correct. Don't knock this place as they have FANTASTIC lunch prices. They have multiple locations and so far I've also been to the one of Sawtelle. They have consistency from location to location.

Every time I'm in the area, I have to make a stop here. The sushi is always fresh and reasonably priced. My go-to orders include the truffle salmon and the baked salmon roll. Service is always great and I love the casual vibes. A must try when in Pasadena!

Original poke lunch special $9.99
J C.

This is a typical Americanized Japanese place. DECOR was nice. Nice sit down place. We arrived at 11:45 and there were not a lot of people but was 90% full when we left around 12:30. FOOD the $9.99 lunch special has a nice variety and generous portion. It's a total steal with today's inflation. We were worried that it's be small but all dishes came out of decent sizes. The original poke was slightly odd with tomato and avocado added but otherwise taste fine. We rate it 3/5. Spicy poke was fairly spicy. We'd rate it 5/5. The chicken udon was kinda salty which we had to add water, but taste was good. No veggies though. 3.5/5 after water added. We noticed there were lots of take out orders but also plenty of people here alone on their lunch break. SERVICE was great. All the servers are super friendly very efficient. You are acknowledged right away. Advertised about lunch specials and they work together as a team and always paid attention to see if you needed something. Overall this is a good place if craving for a hearty affordable Americanized Japanese food. Not sure that's I'd drive all the way here just for this, but won't mind if in the area.

They have a decent amount of options on their menu. Really liked their baked rolls and their salmon carpaccio. Service is quick and the restaurant is on the smaller size.

Food was great. Brought my 4yr old to try sushi for her first time and she loved it! Her favorite was the shoyu ramen! Was a great value from lunch menu. Our waitress Michelle was very hospitable and helpful.

Salmon egg sushi

Sushistop has the logo based off the iconic GameStop without any of the trauma that GameStop caused me of coming in with hopes and dreams only to be crushed by an overweight gamer telling me my games are worth a few cents. Instead I get amazing sushi in the heart of the main strip of Pasadena with super good sushi and homey vibes from welcoming waiters. Also I was lucky enough to play their beer dice game where the gambler in me came out and I rolled double 6's for some .99 beer. Whether you love a cold Japanese beer or just good sushi in a great spot this place has it covered. If you guys get lucky enough to have, Devin or Jocelyn to serve you be nice and let them know you came there from a Yelp and they will take good care of you.

(g062) Crunchy Rice (1/10) delivery
Nikole M.

We placed an order for delivery and it wasn't marked as ready until after 45min after ordering. The driver dropped the order off within 15 minutes of picking it up but by the time the food was delivered everything was cold as if it had been sitting long before pickup. The first thing we opened to eat was the crunchy rice. We each ate a piece and realized it tasted weird. A bit like it had old guac and salsa on top (very weird). Everything else was decent tasting but cold. We had miso soup, gyoza, pieces of sushi and 2 sushi rolls. I will say that the quality of food in the restaurant hasn't disappointed before and this is the first time ordering for delivery from this restaurant. We won't be ordering delivery from here again but may visit the restaurant another time.

Multiple sushi items, I was not impressed by any in particular.

The gave us complimentary sake samples bc the sake company was on site promoting. I don't usually drink alcohol but couldn't resist free. The yuzu was my favorite. The seabass collar was a tad overcooked. Sushi prices are pretty hefty but the cuts of sashimi were good. Service was great, staff were all so kind and attentive. Now here's my only gripe: we ordered 2 orders of salmon sushi, 1 order of o-toro sushi and 1 order of chu-toro (2 pieces per order). When the food server brought out the plate, there were 4 pieces of salmon, 4 pieces of o-toro and 2 pieces of chu-toro. I immediately took a pause bc I swore I only ordered 2 pieces of o-toro. Before I could even bring it up, the same server came back and asked if we order 1 or 2 orders of o-toro. I said we ordered only 1 order. He then asked if we want to PAY for the second order or he'll just 'take it away'. I find that odd bc it wasn't our fault that you guys made the mistake, it should have just been on the house. It's not like you're going to be able to resell that because it already sat on our table. We didn't want to wait for him to take away our entire plate of sushi so we just said we'll keep it. That didn't sit well with me.

Most recently, I came here with my sister for lunch on her birthday and our experience was a sharp contrast to the Corona Del Mar one. Dash was our server and he was so very nice and helpful. Since we were nearing dinner time, we had the option of choosing between the lunch or dinner menu and opted for the lunch menu since we were eating after. We ordered a Nozawa Trust Me and Trust Me and a green tea. The tuna sashimi was fresh and nicely chilled. The nigiri all stayed in one piece, no crumbly rice. Each time they dropped a plate off we were told what was being served and Dash always made sure our drinks were filled and kept offering more ginger as we were running out. They didn't charge me for some extra ginger like Corona Del Mar did and the way everyone wished my sister a happy birthday and told other customers someone else had the same birthday as them was a nice touch that leaves one wanting to come back. We ended up having to wait about 30 minutes till they texted when we were next in line which was not bad at all. The ambiance is cozy with a small bar/counter seating area. Not very noisy so you can easily carry on a conversation. The bar seating is actually just counter seating as there is no bar with spirits anywhere in sight. They also do not have the traditional sushi prep area visible from the counter seating or anywhere else from inside the restaurant which surprised me. My wife ordered the Nosawa Trust Me and my son ordered the Don't Think Just Eat meals. I ordered the 2 of the Salmon Sushi, edamame, and a couple of other sushi which all came in quantity of 2 small bites. The service was excellent although it did take a bit between each of the servings. They prep the next dishes once you finish them and then bring out a little more once they finish making them. Most of everything we had was very good. The Salmon sushi stole the show though. The lobster sushi was unfortunately not very good at all and they had to force them down. Good experience overall and would return and probably just get the basic Trust Me meal instead of the other dishes as that is plenty of food. Oh, they also dont have miso soup.

An unforgettable dining experience from beginning to end!…read more Our little one woke up one morning and announced that she wanted to try caviar, so we found Kaviar in Pasadena because they offer a true caviar service complete with all the traditional accoutrements. Chris was our server, and he was absolutely fantastic. He made us feel genuinely welcomed, anticipated everything we needed, and turned our daughter's first caviar experience into such a special memory. She especially loved the dramatic cold fog rising from the ice, and needless to say, she is now officially in love with caviar! We ordered the: * 50g caviar service (ten out of ten, no notes) * shishito peppers (the sauce is out of this world) * uni pasta (the heavy cream is divine) * Wagyu strip loin steak (melts in your mouth) * baked lobster roll signature roll (pure decadence) * blue crab and salmon signature sashimi (rich, silky, and incredibly fresh) * albacore crispy onion signature sashimi (fireworks in every bite) * garlic albacore signature roll (so good, we forgot to talk) Every single dish was outstanding. We honestly couldn't choose a favorite or even rank them. The flavors were so fresh, balanced, and beautifully executed that we didn't even reach for the soy sauce. Before we left, we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Tigran. He took our family photo, personally walked us out, and made us feel incredibly special. That level of hospitality stayed with us just as much as the food. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, chic, stylish, and perfect for a special occasion, while still feeling warm and inviting. We were still talking about the meal the entire drive home. Exceptional food, exceptional service, and an experience our family will always remember. We cannot wait to return!
