What a great place for a delicious brunch. It was a lil warm on the roof even though parts are covered. Everything we ate was so yummy. We had the brunch fixe menu. Would go back but not in the summer heat! The staff is so friendly and vey attentive. The views are amazing too! Loved the orange decor, it's my favorite color!

SUSHISAMBA WEST HOLLYWOOD - LOTS OF HYPE, GREAT SETTING, JUST OK FOOD -  EXPENSIVE I make my own reservations and pay my own bills when I dine out.  PROS: The outdoor setting is fantastic - a great place for late afternoon drinks and company. Service is on point. CONS: Avoid the Kari Kari trap and sushi--too small and expensive. Some food is stellar; some is less than stellar. Do your research and choose wisely. Avoid sushi PROTIP: Sit in the 20w, 30, 70's or 80s seating for better views SUMMARY: Not as good as the Vegas location, but the setting and service are better--choose food wisely - it's expensive for what you get.  There's no shortage of "scene" in West Hollywood, and SUSHISAMBA West Hollywood is currently the poster child for it. It is undeniably one of the most visually arresting environments in the neighborhood, spanning from SM beach to La Cienega--a playground of color and modern design that feels built for social feeds rather than serious culinary contemplation. That said,  I've learned that a high-wattage atmosphere often serves as a smokescreen for mediocrity. At SUSHISAMBA, the disparity between the setting and the substance is glaringly apparent. The Setting - Let's give credit where it's due: the design team crushed the aesthetic. The outdoor space is truly where this venue lives up to the hype. It's airy, chic, and provides an immaculate backdrop for a late-afternoon cocktail session with friends. If your primary goal is to curate a vibe while sipping a perfectly executed martini or lychee martini, you will leave satisfied.  It's an Instagram perfect setting.  Cocktails - Good and high quality. I like martinis and they make a great "skate" Kettle One Martini - the glassware is on point and fun.  The Food - When the conversation shifts to the plate, the shine wears off quickly. My recent bill is a masterclass in sticker shock, particularly when you compare the price point to the actual caloric and culinary payoff. If you see the photos you will notice that the nigiri sushi is small and does not look fresh. Avoid the Kari Kari, though your waitress will highly recommend it. It's not even close to the better options; the rice is soggy and chewy, and the portions are small. I'll be blunt: skip the Nigiri and Roll sushi. It is remarkably underwhelming, especially given the premium price tag. The portions are precious to the point of absurdity, and the quality simply doesn't justify the investment. You aren't paying for top-tier fish here; you're paying for the floor-to-ceiling views and the PR team. However, it's not an across-the-board disaster. There are moments of culinary competence if you navigate the menu like a minefield. Some dishes show flashes of brilliance, they are the Black Cod, the Ika Nigiri (with chiso) and the Honey Butter Toast. My advice? Do your research. Avoid the sushi section entirely, keep your expectations tempered, and lean toward the cooked small plates if you must eat. Seating - The bar and lounge area shines as well. This could be a go to place for drinks and light eats in a lounge atmosphere. For dining,  if you're going to pay the premium, you might as well secure the vantage point. When you're booking, aim for tables in the 20s, 30s, 70s, or 80s sections. These offer the best views of the room and beyond, which, let's be honest, is the main attraction anyway. Put these requests on your reservation in SevenRooms. Expensive - look at my receipt. I'm not sure how a simple 2 person meal reached $270 with Tip and Valet ($20).   SUSHISAMBA West Hollywood is an expensive experience that executes better as a nightclub-adjacent lounge than a true dining destination. It lacks the cohesive polish of its Vegas counterparts, even if the architecture here feels more refined for the local crowd. It is a high-cost environment where you are largely paying for the privilege of the chair you're sitting in rather than the meal you're consuming. If you want a cocktail and a photo op? Go and have a great time! If you're looking for a serious sushi or food experience, keep walking.

This place is gorgeous and I loved the vibe, but the sushi was sub par given the price. The fish was fresh but the texture of the rice seemed a little dry and it was falling apart. I was pretty disappointed by the food in general as this was so hyped up online. Nothing special in particular, except for the aesthetic of the place. If you don't mind paying for just ambiance, I think it's worth it to come at least once though.

My friends and I had a wonderful time grabbing dinner at Sushisamba! We snagged a slightly early dinner time and while it was quite busy by the time we left, we didn't think it had been too loud while we ate and chatted. We ordered the Pão de Queijo - delicious cheese bread, do not miss! The Kobe Gyoza with the kabocha puree was delicious, too. We also tried the Sea Bass Anticuchos which was a good portion of fish per skewer and the Seviche Classico which also came with plenty of fish and deliciously crunchy plantain chips for texture. The SambaLA roll was a hit with us as well. For dessert, do not skip the chocolate banana cake - it was so good served warm with a side of ice cream. We also ordered the honey butter toast that our server recommended. The flavors were good but it was served cold and was hard to bite. It tasted better after it sat soaking up the ice cream. Great spot for good food and a fun vibe!

I have many mixed feelings about this restaurant and I hesitate to leave any negative comments. However, they do have some operational issues to work through. I realize they are new and well give them the benefit of the doubt that they will improve soon. I was there recently with a group of friends celebrating a special occasion. There were about 7 to 8 people in our table. 1st of all, I have to say that the rooftop location and the decor choices are absolutely stunning. When I walked in, I almost gasped and really felt like I was transported to some tropical vacation. Open air is definitely the way to go in LA where weather is pleasant year-round. The day tonight transition of the restaurant was stunning. I am not normally a fan of fusion food, but the Brazilian Japanese combination sounded quite interesting. The dishes are meant to be family style yet nobody wanted to do family style in the table I was in. It was a little frustrating since I had to order much more than I would normally eat for myself, and that subsequently drove the prices up. The server did a great job in recommending dishes and explaining that they are meant to be shared. The Lychee Cooler cocktail was such a great summer choice. It's slightly on the sweet side, but goes with the drink and it had a fresh lychee garnish. I felt like I was in a high-end tiki bar. Presentation was gorgeous. The main problem with the food was that a couple of appetizers came out. I was happy they were coursing the meal. However, two people in our table never received their entrées. We were there a good 3 1/2 hours by the time the whole meal was served, and it was a little excessive to me. I was getting restless and just wanting to leave about halfway through. When it was brought to their attention that our food didn't arrive, I think the normal thing to do was to bring it out and also comp the dishes. They just brought it out and said "it's already made so do you want it?" When the offer was declined, they brought out a different sushi dish and did comp it however, it was not what had been ordered. I tasted a bite of it and really was not impressed. I would never have been satisfied. Had I ordered something like that. The good part was the pao de queso (cheese bread) was perfection by itself, but they served it with a sweet truffle butter that just took it up a few notches. I tasted a couple of the mushroom dishes that others ordered, and it tasted fantastic. I also got the seafood stew bowl (Moqueca Mista), which clearly was meant to be shared. The flavor was good and I appreciated that chimichurri rice. Unfortunately, all my shellfish were full of sand and overall the dish was very heavy. I didn't enjoy it that much. I definitely found the Brazilian dishes, more interesting and tasty. Sadly, I was not thrilled with the service and food. I would give it another chance when they settle in and improve service but it is not on the top of my list. I would most likely return to the bar for some drinks and light appetizers. It had great ambience, although it got very loud toward the later part of the evening.

Okay, where do I start... The ambiance is definitely the highlight. It's a fun atmosphere and not something you come across often in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't live up to the setting. We were seated directly next to a speaker, and the music was so loud that we often couldn't hear the person sitting next to us. The playlist was great, but the volume made it feel more like a nightclub than a restaurant. As for the service, we had two servers. The first took our order and then disappeared, and a second server took over for the rest of the evening. She was kind, but the attention to detail was lacking. One member of our party has a severe peanut allergy, and it took asking six different staff members before anyone could tell us whether a dessert contained peanuts. That level of uncertainty regarding a serious food allergy was concerning. The most frustrating part of the evening came when the bill arrived. We were incorrectly charged $12 for a bowl of ginger, $18 for a small cup of ponzu, a magnum bottle of wine when we had only ordered the standard-sized bottle, and still water even though all nine of us drank tap water. When you're spending nearly $700 on dinner, charging extra for a small bowl of ginger and a cup of ponzu feels unreasonable, especially when no one mentioned there would be an additional charge. While the manager ultimately removed those charges, there was little acknowledgment or apology. Instead, we were simply told that the charge only applies when you ask for "extra extra." We had a small bowl to share among nine people, which hardly seems excessive. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. Between the billing errors, lack of allergy awareness, and inattentive service, the overall experience didn't match the restaurant's atmosphere or price point.

I was so excited to try this place with my friends and was immensely let down. We did the brunch menu which included apps, sushi, and your choice of an entree. The pao de quijeo was phenomenal with the sweet sauce that came with it. Plantains were just okay and the green bean tempura was good but nothing to rave about. I ordered the lychee cooler, which was horrid. It was so sweet I couldn't take more than 2 sips of it. The real kicker is the steak and eggs that I ordered. At first glance, they looked delightful and the steak was very easy to cut in to. After a few bites I had a bite of steak that tasted absolutely RANCID. Like legitimately tasted expired. After that I stopped eating because I was so disgusted. My girlfriend felt the same, the meat quality was horrible. The vibe of the restaurant was nice but the music was so loud I could barely talk to my friends. Our server was super friendly but the service itself was so slow. We finished eating and our check didn't come out for another 35 minutes. This is one of those places that wows you with their ambiance but the food doesn't live up to the hype. I don't know if it was just the brunch menu items that were the issue but I do know that I certainly will not be back.

Came here for drinks and honestly this place is a vibe! We got some apps and drinks and I love the decor and how the place is laid out. I got this lychee cooler super delicious, my friend also got a dirty martini. We got the crispy rice, cheese bread, and tempura beans. Everything was delicious. To be honest I was prepared to not like the place because I'm always worried about hyped place in LA. However I was so surprised at how much I like sushisamba. The place is perfect to grab a drink and catch up with a friend or take a date too. And it's a pretty restaurant It's def a place where you do have to dress chic. You don't have to wear a dress, but definitely dress to impress. I think it's a good place to people watch too. Service was fine. The server was attentive and would check up on us. Parking wise, valet is $20-25. There's also street parking.

We started with the edamame, Brazilian cheese bread, and rock shrimp tempura. And OMG... this bread was unreal. Warm, cheesy, soft in the middle, and honestly some of the best bread I've ever had. Next up was the yellowtail tiradito, and WOW. The flavors were so fresh and delicious, and it actually reminded me of a tom yum soup. Then came the sushi rolls, and these are definitely not your average sushi rolls. We tried the Asevichado, El Topo, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and Tiger Maki, and every bite was packed with flavor. For the mains, we ordered the Churrasco Rio Grande, which comes with three different types of meat, along with the Chicken A La Brasa. Both dishes were incredible and perfect for sharing. And of course, we couldn't skip dessert. We ended the night with the burnt cheesecake and mochi, and they were the perfect sweet finish to our meal. The food, the atmosphere, the views, everything was a 10/10!! If you're planning a visit, make a reservation around sunset for the full experience.

Admittedly, I came through with high expectations for the ambiance but relatively low hopes for the food, just based off of the reviews I'd seen on IG. Well, the vibes certainly didn't disappoint, but GOSH it is SO LOUD out here. We sat in the middle area, not too far off from the DJ, and the beat was BOOMING all night. I did really like the music, though, and the other patrons seemed to enjoy themselves. There's a nice view of the city. It gave me the impression of being on a yacht of some sort and looking out over the water. Very classy, modern, and inviting. The bar was busy, but ideal for those who walked in without a reservation. Now, as for the food, it wasn't as shoddy as I expected at all. Some of the food was rather mid or else quite salty - like the yellowtail ceviche and miso soup - but we enjoyed the Torodito and Negihama. Nigiri was decent. I wasn't the biggest fan of my Lychee Cooler. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to cocktails and stiff drinks, though. I'd come back for a fun time, maybe for dessert and a drink, but probably not for a full dinner meal.

Incredible choice for a dinner out in West Hollywood. The restaurant itself transforms you into another atmosphere, unlike anything I've seen in LA to date. The service was impeccable. Our server Joey was so on top of it and really took care of our table. His recommendations were on par, and had such good energy. Food wise, you really can't go wrong. I'd go with the rock shrimp tempura, yellowtail, all of the sushi, etc. Cocktails, go wild. Every single one was amazing.

Sushisamba Las Vegas, take notes! The West Hollywood location is absolute perfection. We visited for a friend's birthday brunch on a Sunday with a group of six. The brunch menu was $65 per person, and honestly, it offers plenty of food to share. We got a little carried away and ordered well beyond the brunch menu, plus cocktails and premium sake, so our bill ended up being over $1,200 but that was entirely because we overindulged. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious. The Brazilian cheese bread balls practically melted in your mouth, especially with the butter they serve alongside them. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was outstanding, the ceviche was perfection, and every entrée we ordered from the brunch menu exceeded expectations. We also ordered a premium bottle of sake that the rest of the group thoroughly enjoyed. The cocktail menu was equally impressive, with great options ranging from Palomas and Bloody Marys to an extensive sake selection. What truly sets this location apart is the ambiance. It's easily one of the best rooftop dining experiences in Los Angeles. I've always felt LA should have more rooftop restaurants, and Sushisamba delivers everything you'd want from one. The views, energy, and atmosphere are unmatched. The live DJ was the icing on the cake and elevated the entire experience. Service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was warm, attentive, and never rushed us. We were given a generous 2 1/2 hours to enjoy our meal, which made the celebration feel relaxed and special. Valet parking is conveniently available right in front for $20. If you're looking for amazing food, great drinks, incredible vibes, and one of the best rooftop experiences in LA, Sushisamba West Hollywood is absolutely worth a visit. One note I would make to management is that the seating felt low where we were seated in the circular booths. An interior designer friend who was in our group measured and both the table and seating were standard size, but I think that because the cushions were soft causing you to sink in an inch or two, the table felt high.

Plantain chips with ají amarillo and wasabi guacamole

We arrived very close to opening time without a reservation and got seated promptly. We valet the car which only cost $20. The ambiance was great however it was quite hot even with the fans going hopefully they come up with a better ventilation system. Food was amazing we got the brunch menu and let me tell you it was a lot of food for 2 people totally worth the price. My steak was a bit too fatty for my taste but overall it was good I would definitely come back. Restrooms were clean as well.

It's perfect for groups, the menu is designed for sharing, so you can try a little bit of everything. My parents are vegetarian, and I love that they offer a dedicated vegetarian/vegan menu. Some standouts for me: the kampachi ceviche (fresh and bright), the causita crocante (so satisfying), the seafood chaufa paella (packed with flavor), the grilled octopus (perfectly tender), and the camarones (SO good). The cocktails here are fantastic -- balanced, creative, and just fun to drink. When she took our order the food didn't take too long and we were so hungry we ate through the food so fast. My boyfriend got the lomo saltado montado which had eggs on top. I got the green chicken and veggie soup and the normal lomo saltado. Honestly, I only go to one other place by where I live. But this place did not disappoint! The ambience was clean and friendly.

I was right near Los Balcones which used to be my favorite Peruvian spot in town, only to show up and find out they are permanently closed. I had to call an audible and ended up at Natalie's instead. What a pleasant surprise! It has such a cozy atmosphere, and the service was amazing (our server was incredibly pleasant). I ordered my go to Peruvian dish, the Lomo Saltado. That's one of those essential benchmark dishes if a place can't nail a good one, the rest of the menu is usually a pass, kind of like ordering chicken tikka masala at a new Indian restaurant to test the waters. And boy, their Lomo Saltado was amazing. The beef was so tender and flavorful, and the potatoes were perfectly crisp. I was incredibly impressed. This place is a fantastic hidden gem tucked away in the corner. Also we had the mixed ceviche which was so fresh with just the right tang. Do yourself a favor and check it out, you won't be disappointed. You're welcome.

Modern Peruvian inspired rooftop restaurant at the Hoxton Hotel on Broadway in Downtown LA. The…read moreelevator is straight from the entrance, and you'll see the sign that will instruct you to press "R". It's a small open air space, and it can get full right at dinner time, but if you go right as they open at 5pm, you'll be fine without reservations. The menu is limited, but it's all delicious! The Yuca Fries are a must! Fried and topped with chorizo. All of the sides sounded really good, but these are the best! The thigh meat chicken skewers are perfectly sauced, and can be ordered as an appetizer to be shared by two. All of the main dishes are meant to be shared. The prices are up there for the portions, but it's all a real treat for the taste buds, and the view is great! Highly recommend.

We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Sunday without a reservation, but we were immediately seated upon arrival. The ambiance was relaxing and calm with a resort-like interior. Our server was attentive, yet very respectful of our private space and time, which we greatly appreciated. We never felt rushed, and were able to enjoy the relaxing time. Here is our order: Chicha No Nada with Pisco: A very refreshing drink! Adding pisco was a right choice, making it a perfect cocktail to start off the vacation. Bass Ceviche: A great Peruvian-inspired dish! Highly recommend adding the crispy quinoa crusts for additional $3. Wood-fired Skirt Steak: This dish is very similar to Lomo Saltado, which is our favorite Peruvian dish. Steak was cooked to perfection. Yuca Fries: This dish was very interesting, featuring chorizo, yuzu-cilantro, pickled ajis, and cotija. It was delicious and perfect as a side dish. While the food was excellent, the portions were quite small for dishes that are "meant to be shared" as descrived by our server. Albeit this, our dine-in experience was very positive and enjoyable overall.

Nice first visit for me and an old friend of mine Sheri. Sheri is a meat and potatoes, kind of gal…read moreand so this place fit the bill. We both had the ribeye steak, Sheri had to Costillo and I had the Gaucho. We both loved our steak as they were both tender and flavorful. For the Gaucho, I really enjoyed the Anaheim pepper and other accoutrements and we'll get this the next time as well. The meal includes two sides. We both had mashed potatoes and I had a salad and she had asparagus. We had a server in training who was very attentive as well as the supervising server. We sat in the patio, which was nice. There was plenty of room very nice ambience. Relatively easy street parking. It was a nice visit for both of us. We will be back for sure.

The very first thing our server asked wasn't what we wanted to drink or if we'd ever been there before--it was, "Are you guys here to watch the game?" We immediately told him, "No, we're here for the food." Looking back, that should've been the first warning sign. They brought out fresh bread with chimichurri, and honestly, it was delicious. It got us excited because we thought- maybe this place really did deserve the hype. That excitement lasted about five minutes. We asked our server what everyone comes here for, and without hesitation he said the skirt steak. Since we wanted to try their specialty- meats, we ordered the Plato Mixto, one of their premium platters. It came with skirt steak, New York steak, Argentine "Italian" sausage, half a chicken, and sweetbreads. It's already one of the most expensive items on the menu, yet they still upcharge an extra $4 per side, if you want one of the "premium" sides. At that price, you'd expect everything to be included and quality to be exceptional. For the sides, we chose the grilled veggies, which the server said included eggplant, zucchini, tomato, onions, mushrooms - basic veggie mix and LALAs Potatoes, described as "Mashed Potatoes & Carrots." We figured that meant mashed potatoes served with carrots, or maybe mashed potatoes with pieces of carrot mixed in. Instead, it was one orange puree--mashed potatoes blended together with carrots. No flavor. If that's what you're serving, just describe it that way. The menu there was very misleading. Then came the sweetbreads. We had to ask our server twice what they actually were because he couldn't explain it clearly. Eventually he described them as "lymph nodes." Whether that's technically accurate or not, that's probably not what anyone expects to hear after taking a bite. Then we actually started eating. The Argentine sausage had a strange, almost spoiled flavor. When we mentioned it, instead of acknowledging our concern, our server doubled down and told us it was supposed to taste "rancid." I've eaten authentic Argentine food before. This wasn't it. It tasted like bad meat. The steaks were no better. We ordered medium rare, but the skirt steak was practically purple raw in the middle. Beyond that, both steaks were unbelievably tough. Every bite was a workout. For a restaurant that's supposed to specialize in grilled meats, that's inexcusable. Very low quality red meat. The chicken didn't save the meal either. I've had incredible pollo a la brasa and grilled chicken from plenty of places. This wasn't even close. It was bland, dry, and completely forgettable. When our server came back and asked how everything was, we were honest. We told him we really weren't enjoying the food. Instead of apologizing, offering another option, or trying to make things right, he doubled down again. "That's my favorite thing on the menu." Okay...and? Then he told us to squeeze a bunch of lemon over everything and brought us what felt like half a bottle of Tabasco. Think about that for a second. If the solution to your signature meats is to drown them in lemon and hot sauce just to make them edible, that's not a customer problem--that's a kitchen problem. By that point, it all clicked. The first thing he cared about was whether we were there to watch the game. We told him we came for the food, but the entire experience felt like the food was an afterthought. The service wasn't interested in listening to our concerns, only defending them. This place may be great if you're looking for drinks, sports on TV, and somewhere to hang out. But if you're coming because you've heard this is the place for authentic Argentine meats, prepare to be disappointed. The meats were tough. The sausage tasted off. The menu descriptions were misleading. The service felt more like a used car salesman trying to convince us our experience was wrong than someone who genuinely cared whether we enjoyed our meal. I don't write reviews to tear places down. I write them to help other people spend their money wisely. In this case...save yours. There's far better places to try authentic Argentine cuisine, this is not it, would not return.
