Very good sushi! My 10 year old grandchild loved it also. Love the food trucks at the location. Love the chickens.

Also the peppers are amazing! The portion is generous. Small space that can get crowded and was a little intimidating walking in the first time. We wish they had options for noodles like udon, or even an allergen friendly option (gluten, vegan, vegetarian). We have several friends with dietary restrictions so we were sad we couldn't recommend tajima to them. We've also ordered takeout and it's still a hit but noodles tend to stick together.

This was not on our itinerary but we noticed how packed it was when we were exploring the day before and decided to check it out the next day for dinner. Best to come before the dinner rush or be prepared to wait. We came around 5:30 PM and by the time we finished, there was a group of people waiting for a table. I believe they only take reservations for parties of 6+ We ordered the Tajima Black Ramen (Garlic), Pork Katsu Curry Rice, Toro Taku Maki, Pork Gyoza, Mango Soymilk, and Passion Yuzu Mule. Everything hit the right spot and was exactly what we needed to revive ourselves again. A fun fact we learned about their sushi rice was that it's made with Akazu which is premium red vinegar and could make it look like brown rice. I'm a huge fan of red vinegar and thought it paired nicely with the fish. I wouldn't mind coming back here again the next time we're on Maui

But the highlight of our visit was our server. From the moment he seated us until we left the restaurant, he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. That kind of genuine customer service is becoming harder and harder to find these days, and it really made our lunch special. I actually asked for his name because I wanted to give him the recognition he deserves, but unfortunately, I have to admit that it slipped my mind. Hopefully the restaurant will know exactly who I mean! The sushi was excellent, but the exceptional service is what really stood out. We truly appreciated the warm welcome and great care throughout our lunch. Highly recommend Miso Phat!

The rolls had too many toppings where it did not let the fish shine and flavors were jumbled together. Ahi tasted fresh, but the salmon and yellowtail did not. The baked roll barely had any scallops on top compared to a lot of other places I tried and it wasn't baked enough to bring out the flavor of the mayo. One of the rolls had shrimp tempura inside and the shrimp tempura tasted like it was old and has been sitting out for a while before being used. It was soggy, no crunchy at all. One of the rolls had real crab in the middle, but it tasted very cold like they had just taken it out of the freezer to use in the roll.

From the moment you walk through the doors, every detail is crafted to perfection. The food is nothing short of exceptional. Each piece of sushi is a work of art, featuring fish of the highest grade that literally melts in your mouth. We also had several of signature entree's that were prepared with meticulous care and authenticity in every single bite. While the food alone is enough to earn five stars, what truly sets Oao apart is the high level of service. The team is attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and anticipates your every need with a warm, "aloha" professionalism that elevates the entire evening. An extraordinary meal from start to finish. If you appreciate world-class cuisine and impeccable hospitality, Oao is a must-visit. We cannot wait to return!

The sushi chef was so sweet, the waiters hv the best personalities, and the food comes out surprisingly fast. If it's your first time, get a Mai Tai! All of the nigiri is incredible, but my favorites are the otoro, hamachi with chili oil, and salmon. SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT. The matcha panna cotta is sooo good and 'not too sweet' lol, which is probably the best compliment an Asian person can give a dessert The ube dessert is amazing too. Brianna was fantastic; her customer service was excellent, and she made us feel so well cared for the entire evening. That thoughtful gesture turned a special dinner into a memory we'll always treasure. Between the world-class food, the warm hospitality, and the stunning views, Komo delivered an experience we'll never forget. Thank you so much! We will be back! Tammy and Brian.

I had to modify a reservation due to jet lag, and the woman who handled the entire 15 person dining room, knew exactly who I was when i walked in, even though I had never been there! It's literally only the husband behind the counter and the woman taking care of taking orders, serving, and checking in on every diner. The small decorations are fun and whimsical, especially if you sit at the sushi bar. Prices are very fair for the quality of the fish and although they do have set combinations, I preferred to create my own. I got the miso soup, albacore, yellowtail, Maguro, shrimp tempura roll, vegetable roll, and negihama. I ended up ordering enough for 3 people, but since I was staying in a condo, they graciously packed leftovers to go with condiments! Count on about $100 per person if you have a drink and a hearty appetite. A beautiful gesture upon leaving was being gifted a fresh flower!

Traditionally, sushi chef put soy sauce and wasabi in the between the fish and rice, and it's part of the flavor. I don't remember how it was done last time, but that was not the case this time. I had to awkwardly flip the nigiri pieces and dip the fish side in soy sauce, and then they fall apart. Ugh. Also, I didn't appreciate the size of the rice. It was impossible for me to eat the whole piece in one bite, but it's kind of rude not to under the traditional Japanese etiquette. The fish quality was.....okay. TBH, I had better in Sacramento/Roseville for way cheaper. I had more elegant, delicious, and satisfying omakase in San Diego, New York, Shanghai....you name it. For the price (even adjusted for the Maui premium) and the capability of the owners, I truly believe they could do better. Sending love!
