    Happy hour.

Delicious, fresh, great service and hospitality. The lemon roll was my favorite. I can't wait to return. Rebecca our server was amazing. Happy hour was also included in our tab :)

This place used to be called Sushi Me and now it's Sushi Yu. From what I can tell, the menu items seem to be the same and there's even some new additions. The sushi here has been fresh and tasty each time I have dined here. Some times I dine in and other times I take it to go. As you can see from the photos, I order a fair amount of items and they're all for me. Yes, I can finish all that in one sitting. What you see pictured are my overall go to items. Note that for the salmon and blue crab item, I have the truffle oil removed. I'm not a fan of truffle oil and I find that the taste is overpowering. Perhaps you may want to get the oil on the side or you may not taste the blue crab. Each time I've visited, it is never crowded. Street parking is also very easy to find. They used to have happy hour specials but I'm not sure if they still do happy hour after the change in name. If you're looking for a local decent quality sushi place, check this place out. The menu is so vast you're likely to find something that calls you.

I love the service here, their sushi rolls and sashimi are so fresh. There's not that much of a wait time and the place is great to dine with a group of 3-4 people or if you want to eat with a big party you would need to call ahead. Dragon Roll (crab meat, avocado, cucumber, baked eel on top): Eel was so soft and sweetly glazed. I especially liked the how the roll was packed with imitation crab. Baked Baby Lobster: Packed with warm mini shrimp and chopped up lobster and it's not heavily glazed with mayo unlike other places. I love that there was a lot of seafood that I was able to taste. Trio Sashimi (blue fin tuna, salmon, yellowtail): So fresh and so buttery! I usually don't like tuna, but this tuna was so good! There was no tuna scent at all. Their yellowtail catch was so buttery, I gotta come back for their trio sashimi plate again! Don't skimp out on their thinly sliced radish, so refreshing!

Our new local sushi go to spot! Whenever we want some fresh sushi, we can depend on Sushi Yu. We've been there 3 times now and every time we make sure to order our favorites: lemon roll, yuzu roll and seafood udon. Dont sleep on their udon, it tastes better than home made udon. No weird aftertaste in the broth and umami notes of shitake , chef's kiss! Honestly, I would just come here for their udon if I had an udon craving. Their tempura was also delicious. Their uni nigiri is also very fresh and buttery! The service is always so friendly and exceptional. Location is on Main st so after dinner, you can walk to boba or ice cream! I hope more people come and we can continue to enjoy Sushi Yu in the community!

Great sushi place. The staff was friendly and attentive to us throughout our visit. We were seated quickly without having a reservation. The ambiance was pleasant and not too loud. My boyfriend and I ordered a Sapporo while we looked through the menu. The garlic edamame was absolutely AMAZING! I will definitely be coming back for this. We also enjoyed the 911 roll, dragon roll, California roll and salmon roll.

I been coming to this place for the last 5 years, at one point once a week, it was so delicious and the service was great. Since the change of ownership or just the name, food has change, flavor has change and not for good, service it's just ok, we don't feel welcome like before It's time for a change

Came here for Happy Hour (3pm - 5:30pm) in a Tuesday. Free parking in parking structure on 1st street or on the street. The waiters were very nice and attentive. We ordered the Super Tiger Roll for $19.99 and Rainbow Roll for $16.99. Both rolls were really good and tasted fresh. We thought the Happy Hour price was very affordable. We would come again for Happy Hour.

Before, the name was Sushi me, it has changed to Sushi yu now. Food is fresh and service are still good. The female was very attentive and friendly. 1) Dargon Roll : the presentation was good and the taste was average. 2) Baked Baby Lobster : yummy & tasty 3) Scallop Roll : delicious, scallops were fresh 4) California Roll : above average 5) Octopus Ball : not the cup of my tea because of the texture

"Really fresh fish and generous cuts. Everything tasted clean and well-seasoned. The rolls were also excellent--balanced and not overloaded with sauce. You can tell the owner really cares about sourcing and ingredients because the quality shows. The kitchen items were surprisingly good too; the bento and udon were legit and not an afterthought. Chill, modern vibe and friendly service. Definitely recommend if you're picky about sushi quality.

Love coming here because there's never a super long wait and the portion of fish is always very good. The quality is also very good so I'm a frequent customer here! The staff is also very sweet and kind.

Came here for dinner, food was good but it some ways, there was no wait when i came but after 8pm i see there's alot of people waiting, some of the hand wrap was little salty overall the food was ok. This place dont have sashimi, and it was a disappointing for me because tats all I would eat. Service was good. Ambience here is ok no TV, there's music playing its little loud. But I wouldn't come here again. For the price they should have sashimi.

Insane. The service and staff are incredible. The waitress was kind and efficient and helped us pick out things that we haven't tried yet. Everything was fresh (even the crispy onions!!). Please eat here and keep supporting local businesses. We have never been disappointed here.

Albacore sushi is an amazing find

    Is this Ayce?

When i went earlier this year I didn't see an option for that

So do they still have happy hour?

I saw some post recently said they had AYCE there. I wonder if they have AYCE now?

No they do not! Just went today (11/4/2022)

Since dine in is back, is the all you can eat also back?

Do they still do AYCE now?

no they do not do all you can eat anymore

    All you can eat?

You can get AYCE or order by items.

I am confused. I see on the menu uploaded here on yelp that weekday lunch ayce is only for rolls and appetizers. Is that true? SERIOUSLY?

    They are Asians.

What the heck does 3 rounds mean? Like they only come to your table 3 times and you load up or what?

Each round you can order as much as you want and after you finish first round, you can order as much as you want on the second round, same as the third round. So usually by the third round we are full. So, they let you eat three rounds. Most AYCE… Read more

One of her BF's mother shares many of the old school Canto recipes that neither my sister and I have printed generation family recipes for. My sister was told about an ingredient called "Flounder Powder" that I researched and found it's one of those key ingredients needed to give your Won Ton fillings and/or broth that something-something you can kinda identify but can't figure out what that flavor is. After a year of asking FB Canto recipe pages and other Asian Foodies group, I gave up. I either had to order the powder out the USA or on Amazon for a ridiculous price for the amount. I tried again this past December and Googled Flonder Powder once more. This time, a local Asioan store was omne of the search results and since we were already in the area, we made a small detour to Wing Hop Fung located in Monterey Park, CA. Parking here is easy and not stressful. There is multiple Asian businesses located in this strip mall as well. My wife and youngest son decided to stay in the car while my sister, her hubby and I went into the store. The main reason my wife and son stayed behind is they are not used to the sometimes overwhelming smells that almost all Asian grocery stores have. When I entered Wing Hop Fung, the first thing I immediately noticed was the complete lack of any smell from preserved goods, dried foods, herbs etc. As I looked around by the entrance, there were barrels of dried, preserved mushrooms, seafood and othe dried Asian delicacies and it was completely odorless anywhere in that store. The elusive, almost mythical Flounder Powder is located behing the counter where the dried foods are. A salesperson manning this area will weigh out how much you want. During my late Dec. 2025 visit, the current pricing for the Flounder powder was $25.99 a pound. Your purchased amount is sealed in a plastic bag. As for the rest of the store, I was at a loss for words. There were sections for Asian branded cookware, rice cookers and other kitchen appliances. It was nice to see so many models offered for rice cookers, hot water dispensers etc. There is also manuy aisles dedicated to porcelain dishware. There was a big section devoted to tea: loose leaf, cakes, and a tea tasting bar as well. They also had a herbal medicine area where they can make different tonics for soups, drinking and so on. There is a large area for Asian branded medicines, tonics, ointments and other health care supplies. This store also carries a lot of fine bottles so wine. One cooler had bottles of wine priced at $40,000. They also had a large assortment of hard liquor, liquers, & sake, whiskies, Baiju and so much more. I really could've spent a lot of time in this store perusing each are more closely but dinner reservations were approaching and I would end up spending a lot of money here if I was was left unchecked. If you ever need to obtain Flounder Powder, a vast selection of loose or caked teas or just want to check out a really interesting Asian grocery store, you need to stop by here.
