This has probably been one of the worst places I've been to in a long time. I didn't choose this restaurant, so seeing it was in a shopping mall had me skeptical, but I definitely wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and not judge it lol. But my instincts were right because the service was absolutely poor from the beginning, and we were the only ones in there, which made it worse. I tried to ask for suggestions, and she brushed me off and didn't provide any answers. Then, when I kindly informed her I didn't like my chicken, as you can see it doesn't look good at all, she looked down at me rudely, then back at the chef and spoke to him, then minutes begrudgingly later took the food. I went to this restaurant with low expectations. On Yelp, there are a lot of photos of sushi rolls. Call me snobby, but I've never had great sushi at a place that serves a variety of rolls. This place reminded me that I've got to always keep an open mind. For the record, I didn't try any of their rolls. I'm not that open minded. I had their shrimp tempura and an assortment of nigiri sushi. The shrimp tempura was crispy and hot, just the way I like it. The salmon, snow crab, and blue fin tuna sushi were home runs. The only things I didn't enjoy were the egg sushi and miso soup (too watery). Not going to ding them for the soup, however, since they gave that to me for free. The service here was outstanding. The staff were very nice and the food came out quickly. Not sure if this was because my wife and I were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, but they gave us grilled fish for free in addition to the miso soup. My only gripe is that the server called attention to the specials for the day which included toro. When I asked for the toro, she informed me that they didn't have any that day. If you're planning to come here to eat sushi, which I recommend you do, request that they not put any wasabi in the sushi. They give you a generous amount on the side. The chef asked me if I wanted a lot or little wasabi in my sushi and I asked for a lot. That was my mistake. The wasabi hit me like a ton of bricks. Great place for sushi. The sushi is fresh and price decently. The service is great. I've gone twice which happened to be on Valentine's Day. I couldn't have picked a better spot. The vibes were it! I ordered the 3-piece bento box, chicken teriyaki bowl, Thai coconut shrimp roll, and volcano roll. Those rolls? Packed with sexy flavor, just like my wife. The chicken katsu was fresh and crunchy, the chicken teriyaki was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The salmon? Oh, it was beautiful, moist, pink, and exactly how I like it. Nothing better than a hot pink center you can get your mouth on. The Thai coconut roll was unique and loaded with texture, sweet, creamy, a little crisp. The volcano roll brought the heat, spicy, savory, and seriously had a fat boy begging for more. The prices are absolutely worth it, and honestly, this is the best spot to eat in the plaza. So if you are looking for a small local Gardena sushi place this is it! The chefs greet you with amazing attitude and positive vibes. The sushi itself is really good, full of flavor and perfect with presentation. The only thing that I did not like what the service was not 100% there, they take the initial order and forget about you. We placed a order for more sushi and the waiter forgot to put the order in. I have never been to a restaurant where table settings were not automatically provided. Sashimi and sushi combos were a joke. Lots of non fish items to fill the plate. And even worse they added a mandatory tip for a party of five. The waitress knowing that service was awful told us that she adjusted the tip to 18 percent. I want to start off by saying the food is amazing. My family and I order through DoorDash and never have an issue. I recently visited and sat down at the bar and had amazing conversation with Jason who then advised to come in on a Thursday or Friday and mentioned to Yasmine that he likes me so much he gave me something to try on the house! So I followed his advise and visited today, Yasmine was there and had 3 tables so I waited patiently & the customer behind me left because we hadn't been helped. I watched Yasmine wait her tables 2-3 times and then one table ordered more food so she came to put it in, when that happened I said excuse me and she cut me off and said one sec. I said can I just get my order in atleast, at this point someone else is behind me. She said "I have people dining in & have to prioritize my tables, I said okay well I'll done in. She then helps everyone including the lady that was behind me when I said excuse me she cut me off and said I will be with you in a sec. I said well you just told me you have to prioritize my table and now im at a table there is no need to prioritize me? She said this is not how this works, you can't choose to dine in after saying you're ordering to go. Then another customer joined in to tell her that's not right. She gets loud and created a scene saying I was disrespectful & I told her I hadn't said anything disrespectful towards her. She takes the lady in line order again before me then says "what do you want" she came to my table a total of 3 times and 2/3 I had to ask her to come. I needed to place a Togo order for my family and I only then spoke up to try and clear any misunderstanding as she said I'm a regular even though I've only stepped in the restaurant with her there two times before me and I was talking about people??? When the only conversation I had was with Jason and again was nothing short of amazing. She then cuts me off because rude and disrespectful and then says I need to be corrected????? I'm not sure what happened with the other host that worked there but she was nothing short of amazing even for just picking up Togo orders. I work for a well known food critic and social media influencer and have been going around the city of Gardena finding places for him to review as he's help thousands of small businesses expand, but after this I will never spend another dime, let alone refer him or anyone to this location going forward. Her attitude was distasteful & her energy was far from graceful. I'm not sure who is in the business of "correcting" wrong before but she absolutely needs to be addressed. read more

Had to wait twenty minutes for the waitress to come and take our orders. I got my lemonade and it was the powdered kind you find in the clearance isle at Target (tasted chemically and was neon yellow). The water was hose water, so bad that we had to order just to get rid of the waters. Our food came thirty minutes after ordering and here is a long story short: had to ask for wasabi, had to ask for ginger, had to act for SOY SAUCE BOWLS (which never came), and we had to ask for PLATES. we were eating for ten minutes on napkins. The waitress decided it was right to give us four plates out of five people because she wanted to save us some arm room (one of us has to eat with a napkin) The waiter was extremely rude when we asked for necessities. There was a specials sign and they only had 2/4 items. Good news though, the waiter knew that her performance was awful so she marked off 2% of the 20% mandatory tip that is put in the menu. They are giving you a thing called an imitation crab and primarily made from processed created form minced fish. They should really indicate that its an imitation crab. I ordered takeout at this restaurant. I paid for my order and waited for my food at table closest to the door. The restaurant was not crowded and there were several tables available. I was minding my business waiting on my order when the Japanese woman that took my order came up to me and asked me to get out of the restaurant. She says they don't have enough room for me to wait for my food in their establishment. It was night time and raining. The area where the restaurant is located is not the safest area. I don't understand why this staff member felt that a paying customer waiting on their food should have to wait outside in the dark, cold, rain. I am a woman and my safety is important. I am a woman of color. I don't know why she singled me out. This was an insult. As far as the food.... the portions are tiny and the taste is bland. Nothing to write home about. So I will never go back. The staff member clearly needs implicit bias training. You cannot assume it's acceptable to tell certain customers to 'get out' based on how they look. Had dinner here last Sunday. The place is small, but the service was pretty fast so it didn't matter. Tables became available pretty fast. There was an oversight and they forgot to make my daughter's meal, so they waived the cost. That wasn't expected, but what awesome compensation. She ate all her chicken teriyaki & rice.
