It's been six days since Sushi Ya made me sick and I am still waiting for a response from a manager or owner. Again; I was served a yellow mustard sauce on my katsu. When I was finally able to catch the eye of a server, and told her I wad allergic to mustard, she insisted on taking the whole bento back to the kitchen. The main issue was with an $18 order of nigiri, I would expect all fish, but two of the pieces were tamago, the egg- not a big fan but also, they weren't even wrapped with seaweed and no rice- just two pieces naked and alone. My husband and I tried the pot stickers and four different rolls: Spicy Tuna, Oregon, 007 and Go Duck. Four might have been a bit too many for just the two of us but they were all good. Overall, the favorite was the Oregon. The Go Duck was rather large for a one-bite piece, but the jalapenos were fresh and spicy! I wasn't really sure if the albacore was cooked or was supposed to be cooked, but it looked a bit of both depending on the piece I got. Pot stickers were good as well. We sat at a small table for two and it was very nice of them to put all the rolls on one large plate, instead of trying to cram 4 different plates on the table. The food looked delicious, but the taste was not so great. My Tonkatsu bento was drenched in sauce. The salad had way too much dressing, I didn't eat it at all. The main star of the bento was just dreadful. The katsu was so salty and the meat itself was so dry. Terrible.The gyozas (2 pieces) were so-so, but they didn't have any flavor. The only decent thing about the bento was the spicy tuna roll. My fiance ordered the sukiyaki udon, or at least we thought it would be actual sukiyaki. Never, have we tried sukiyaki with thick, chewy overly cooked pieces of meat. The broth definitely tasted odd too. However, their sushi roll, black widow, was actually good. i went tonight with my roommate looking for ramen on easter. they were the only place open we could find with ramen and we both felt we could've gotten better ramen from the grocery store. first of all i asked for a beer and it took maybe 10 minutes to get and the server didn't know what beers they had on tap and had to go back and check 3 times. we both ordered the pork belly ramen and both received the pork katasu ramen, which was simply disgusting. the broth tasted like straight hot watered down hoisin sauce with bland noodles in it. i had been recommended sushi ya by multiple friends so i was shocked at how awful the food was. the only reason im giving two stars is because of the cute stickers on the window and that the servers were cute. my roommate and i now are infected with tge worlds stinkiest farts due to the foul food. as we dont like being rude to service workers and were incredibly hungry we just ate the food and shut up but i am regretting not asking for a different ramen i just didnt think that the broth would be any better. i will not be returning read more

I like the simpler dishes like Negi Hama and Unagi Nigiri, but they do have more extravagant rolls and great bento deals as well. I always feel valued as a customer there. Plus, it's affordable.
