My sushi was served extremely cold, including the unagi, (eel) which is normally served warm from the oven. The huge hunks of icy cold meat were sort of disgusting to my palate...do they make this in advance and pull it out of the fridge for customers? My spider roll tasted of almost ready to turn crab and rancid old grease. They don't take credit cards. Near the end of my meal, I found a long hair in my ginger. It wasn't my color. Both rolls had cooked elements in them, yet they were ice cold when I picked up my takeout order 35 minutes after calling in (as instructed). My biggest issue is the freshness of the fish. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade and I know yesterday's prep when I see it. People giving Sushi Win a positive review obviously don't know sushi from Shinola. Total waste of $100. I have learned my lesson. Never order more than 1 roll and a couple pieces of sushi at a sushi restaurant that is new to me. 1. They don't take any credit cards. What? 2. You have to go outside to use the bathroom. 3. The only edible sushi we received was the Hamachi. It was tender and flavorless. 4. The Maguro was stringy due to connective tissue of some sort running through it. 5. The Unagi wasn't edible at all. Huge undercooked fatty skin on every piece. 6. California roll. How can you screw that up? They did. 7. Blue crab roll. Fishy and unappetizing. 8. Spider roll. Fishy and seemingly old, if not reheated. 9. Oh. Forgot the tempura shrimp appetizer. It was like a frozen fish stick with a shrimp tail stuck on the end. Fried mush with some sort of bread coating. Sushi Win is our absolute favorite sushi spot. We wish they were closer to Denver so we could order them for takeout when we lived there. Now that we are in Indian Hills (5 minutes from Evergreen), we are so happy to have our got-to sushi spot. Sushi Win is so fast (food always ready for pick up in less than an hour), and they are very Covid19-safe, which is very important to us. We miss going in to dine in person, but love how they have shifted/pivoted to accommodate take out orders. I so look forward to sushi night (which is now once or twice a week)! Give a try. The name does not fit the food in my opinion. We walked into the door and it smelled like old grease. Honestly, if there were other sushi options in the area I would've just left right away. There were two different kind of menus up front, but a sign saying the most updated menu would be online. The magazines laying around are from 2015(!!). The whole situation felt as if the owners will move out of the restaurant this weekend with boxes everywhere. We still ordered a California roll, a jalapeño roll, a miso soup and crab soup. I had hopes for my miso soup and Cali roll, since that's both pretty basic. The miso soup was not edible, it smelled old and stale and the taste was even stranger. The rolls - the main issue was that the rice was way too soft, it didn't feel like sushi rice whatsoever... Taste of the fake crab and avocado was fine (again you can't really mess fake crab up.), but then I added the ginger to my roll and instantly regretted it - the ginger tasted awful. My husband can be a food snob when it comes to sushi, always criticizing sushi joints for the amount of fish served based on the price. Sushi Win does not disappoint with amount of fish served per roll or sashimi you order. The sashimi are cut in pieces that you almost need to take two bites! If you leave hungry, that is on you. Also, we have gotten excellent service! The waiters and owners are pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. The only thing that holds me back from giving this restaurant 5 stars is the ambiance. The restaurant from the decor, table setting, and music definitely fits what you would find in a mountain community, not a fast pace urban restaurant in downtown Denver. I have been twice now and the food is above reproach: the fish is delicious, the miso soup is balanced well with tofu and seaweed and there are both traditional and special rolls, depending on your mood. Went here last night after hitting up Buchanan Rec Center. (Warning: exercise may increase your appetite and cause you to order a million rolls). This place is awesome! Run by a local family, wonderful atmosphere, and most importantly--delicious sushi! I used to live in little Japan in Los Angeles and I'm constantly bemoaning the lack of good sushi in Denver. Imagine my delight when I found an awesome, reasonably priced sushi place in EVERGREEN. This place is at least as good as the fancy sushi restaurants in Denver that charge you twice as much. The fish is fresh, the preparation is meticulous, and there are options for non-sushi lovers as well. The friendly service seals the deal. We will make this place one of our regular stops. They now have their liquor license, FYI--didn't check if it was liquor as well because we just got beer but at least you can get a Kirin with your sushi now :D read more

We were visiting our in-laws in the area and decided to give this place a chance. First, they were AWESOME with our toddler. They brought her crayons, training chopsticks, and a covered glass of water without us asking. Second, they have some excellent vegan options (if that's your thing). We especially loved the Special Vegetable Roll, which has mango and mint (think of a cross between a spring roll and a sushi roll). The prices were reasonable, and the views aren't too shabby either. I went with a group of ladies from my MOPS group a couple weeks ago and wasn't too impressed. I was the first one there and they did have the table all set and were ready for us. They had a nifty system with dry erase markers for us to mark on a laminated menu what we wanted. This made it easier on everyone I feel like. I'm currently pregnant so actual sushi was out of the picture for me. Everyone else that ordered it was happy with it though. I opted for the veggie spring rolls and teriyaki bowl. The spring rolls were over fried and too crispy. The bowl was literally rice and chicken with a small amount of sauce. It was garnished with a massive leaf of lettuce and exactly 3 fancy slices of fresh cucumber. Not traditionally teriyaki bowls come with mixed veggies like cabbage, carrots, broccoli and zucchini so this was a pretty pathetic "meal". Not to mention I make it better at home. It was not worth the $9 I spent on it. Service was also good in the beginning they got drinks and food to everyone quickly but after that tracking the server down for minor things on occasion during the 2.5 hours we were there was a lost cause. I can see why they're rated better than anywhere else in the area but I still would probably only go back for a social event like the one I went to and maybe try the dumplings and have a soda and call it good. read more
