We are from Phoenix, AZ so a brief visit to the beautiful Colorado mountains recently should have been spectacular enough for us, that is until we met Ryan Win. Yes the restaurant is very nice, clean, warm, inviting and great views. All of that said our experience began with a warm greeting from Ryan Win (great guy) when we arrived. The food was unique, mouth watering and fun to learn from Ryan what drove him to create these amazing gems. We enjoyed every bite of it. Bella the robot was a tremendous source of entertainment especially watching the fun the kids had with it. All of that said, for me the most impressive thing about this experience was Ryan's commitment to his community and family. As a retired business woman I have, only too often, seen business owners who only think about the money and what the business can do for them. In the case of this exceptional young man it is ALL about what his business can do for his community. Food: I'm a traditionalist when it comes to food and got the nigiri and sashimi special. Good quality fish! Hard to find high quality fish/seafood in Colorado, especially small towns. It's hard to get good sushi in the mountains but Sushi Win Jr is one of the best I've had in Colorado, competing with my top spots in Denver. The owner, Ryan, obviously puts a lot of care and attention to each and every dish and it pays off! Sushi for the win! Very nice place with some very nice folks behind the counter. This was a spur of the moment desperate need for sushi. Our usual place is way down in Denver, so we decided to give Sushi Win a try. Good choice on our part. Located on the second floor of a mountain-ish building, the restaurant is a quaint place that is very clean and tidy. We ordered several of the chefs special rolls and they were all quite delicious. We love taking our kids here, and it's also a great place to dine out with adults for dinner and cocktails. Our 7yo and 3yo often ask to go see the "robot cat" and eat their yummy udon noodles (which we love, as well). The robot cat is literally a robot with cat features that brings your plates/cups/water to your table upon arrival. The robot even talks a bit, and they can pat its head. SO FUN. If you need a high chair, I would just recommend sitting at one of the regular tables as opposed to a booth. That way the high chair can go on one open side of the table, or in place of a chair, and the robot can come up to the other open side. Sometimes the robot brings out food orders, too, or sometimes food is brought out by the owner or his parents (previous owners). The owner is super attentive and friendly if you have any questions. He recommended a cocktail (Johnny's Green Tea) and it was SO GOOD. And beautiful! His dad asked if our kids could have free ice cream, and helped us tell them they needed to first eat their meals. Our kids also love the chicken fried rice, as do I. All the sushi my husband and I have tried has been great and fresh. I've had a few of the entrees at dinnertime and they've been delicious, as well. We just love this place - Views are amazing, atmosphere is pleasant, family friendly (our kids also love setting the table with the plates the robot brings, haha), wonderful service (from both the humans and robot!), really good food and drinks... I know they tried, I can feel it, the servers welcome you with warmth, but their kitchen just needs a better chef. Our sushi came out warm but the rice bowl came out lukewarm. We are Evergreen residents and have always loved Sushi Win. It is a reliable, consistent, and always fresh, which can be hard to find in the mountains. The portions are huge and they have a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails. We're so excited the dining room is open again, because the owners are so friendly and we love supporting family owned businesses. Prior to COVID, they offered full service, then for awhile they only offered takeout. Not they have adapted their business model to order-at-the-counter service which is a great compromise. I really hate to give a poor review to a local spot, especially during these challenging times. We recently moved to Evergreen and were hopeful when we saw 4 stars that we might have decent local sushi. Unfortunately, no. The nigiri was massive. Slabs of fish 2-3 times bigger than they should be. It was a challenge, uncomfortable, to eat in 1 bite, less skillfully sliced than when I prepare it myself at home. Sushi isn't about portion size. The hamachi carpaccio was again, massive slabs of yellowtail. The preparation looked attracted, but was surprisingly lacking flavor. I did enjoy one of their rolls, and I thought their menu showed some creativity here, but like the rest their rolls were not skillfully prepared came up short in flavor. read more

For a mountain town in the center of the country this sushi place is bomb. The seaweed salad is great and relatively cheap. Nigiri is surprisingly good quality--a bit oversized fish for a piece; honestly wish they would give the same amount of fish 2 pieces divided into 4 pieces and increase the price slightly so it was large bite size. I actually get the nigiri and a side of sushi rice to divide the pieces in half. Been here now 6 times and consistently good whether getting raw, rolls, or sides. read more

For the first time, I am shocked and disappointed by Yelpers. This place is base level. The sashimi needs a fork and knife and tenderizer. The nigiri is sloppy and doesn't have wasabi.
