The smell of fried foods and oil is soooo strong makes it hard to enjoy the fresh sushi

The sushi is average. It's a very small restaurant with only 7 tables in all, along with a bar. They have a very small menu and limited sushi options. Have you ever been chased out of the restaurant by an angry restaurant owner that gets pissed because you asked him to make you another roll of sushi because the salmon he gave you smells and tastes bad??? Well, this is your first chance if you've never experienced the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Available in Phoenix. I have no respect for this kind of attitude and lack of anger management that happened tonight in from of multiple guests at the restaurant that just stood up and left after seeing what was taking place. This restaurant owner had no boundaries and accused me of not wanting to pay and kept physically pushing me to return to pay for the meal that I didn't eat and the drink that I had Just started... this is unbelievable!!! Everybody was looking at this business owner in panic as he was pushing me and threatening to hit me in the face with his fist. HOW CAN YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT WAY??? Don't you think about the clientele you might be losing for putting out this horrible spectacle and horrid show in front of families??? Did you notice the customers you lost forever besides me??? This business should have its business license removed based on the premises of bad customer service, rage and angry insults towards paying customers that all they want is to buy food that taste good, customers bring you business and should be allowed to let you know when something doesn't taste good. This business owner should learn business basics 101 "your customer is always right" even if you don't like it! You lose more by fighting, insulting and arguing with your customers... you could have just made another roll but you took this to a whole new level, you should rethink your business strategy next time, keep the $20 that I gave you when you chased me outside, I know you probably need it more than me! read more

Extremely disappointed today. I finally came to try this place with my family and it was incredibly said to see by far the worst customer service from an OWNER of a restaurant! I witnessed such a terrible and extremely embarrassing situation with the OWNER of the restaurant horribly attacking a CUSTOMER in front of everyone tonight. How? When? Why? Would this even happen to a customer who just wanted to enjoy dinner at this sushi restaurant that doesn't even deserve ONE star review. The food was not even great. And experiencing this and trying to enjoy dinner at the same time was not pleasant at all, this just made it worse! Please safe yourself some time and DO NOT come here. I originally came across this hole in the wall bc it was pretty close to home and I must say I can't get enough. I've taken several people here too and they all agree that the food and atmosphere are excellent. But I'd be lying if I didn't say it was also bc of Sunny. She remembers me every time I come in, and remembers that I always request extra wasabi. She's always so sweet and honestly very hard working. She goes above and beyond to make you feel special, I always leave with a smile. 12/10 would recommend to any sushi lover. read more

I visited recently for happy hour, server greeted us promptly and showed us to our table. This is a small restaurant, appears to be family-owned with husband making sushi and wife as server. The sushi we ordered came out as described, and the chef made us one special roll based on the items we like. I enjoyed the Las Vegas eel roll as well. I would return in the future. read more

holy cow. i have had my fair share of sushi and i cam say hands down this is one of the best. from the homey feel of the restaurant to the incredible staff, there was nothing i would critique about this. the women serving gave us little tips about enhancing the already incredible sushi, and sent us off with a small treat on the house. 10/10. read more

I can't believe I have walked past this special sushi restaurant several times without trying it! I have eaten great sushi in many places including Hawaii, Portland, Seattle and California. This restaurant is now definitely at the top of my list and I would highly recommend it if you like really fresh, excellent quality sushi. Sushi Time is a solid option but not my favorite sushi restaurant in town. They give thick slices of fish for the sushi, but I found the rice to be a bit dry for my tastes. I enjoyed the multiple pieces of seaweed they put into the miso soup. The restaurant itself is nice and intimate. I wouldn't try to come here with a large group during busy times, but it's perfect for seating groups of 4 or smaller. read more

Awkwardly silent when we walked in -music was turned down low and there were only 2 other customers when we arrived, but it soon picked up as more and more people came in. It's a pretty small place with probably 6 tables along the wall that sits about 4 people and about 10 more seats at the sushi bar. This particular night there was only one waitress and all tables and seats were filled up by the time we left (poor thing), but she did a good job and maintained good customer service. We came here after reading the reviews on yelp, at first I was a little skeptical because of the pictures. The restaurant didn't look nice, however they remodeled everything and it's look great! They had a special today, one Las Vegas roll, one California roll and a Miso soup for $12 (I think it's fairly cheap) the Las Vegas was very good, as well as the miso soup. The rice of the California roll was a bit too dry for me. The sushi chef was very friendly, he wasn't our server but he started talking to us. And we had a very nice/long conversation, he even took a picture with my friend ! We had a very nice time there, we will come back during Happy Hour to try it out! read more

Compared to similar small independently owned sushi restaurants, the sushi is fresher, and there is a good portion of it on your roll. Happy hour is from 5-9 every day, and rolls are buy one, get one half off (For the first 7 rolls on the menu). More specialty rolls will be a little less than 10 dollars each. The decor and interior inside is very bare-bones, has dark lighting, and seems kind of depressing to me. The interior is similar to a mom-and-pop Mexican food restaurant, except we're dealing in sushi here. read more

Notable rolls on the menu: Hot Night, Oh Baby, Surprise, Phoenix... The list goes on and on! Shrimp tempura appetizer is also delicious and you should make a note to try some soju if you're feeling adventurous! Ask Sok Jin to teach you about soju etiquette and enjoy some culture with a delicious drink. If you're in a rush, get togo and call in advance. He is the only sushi chef all shift, and there's usually only one server on staff so not a place to go if you don't have some patience and understanding. read more

But we've been there twice since the change, and the rolls are smaller and overall just not nearly as tasty. They changed management perhaps even owners. This use to be the best sushi spot in town but now it's just like the rest of them. You can taste the difference, quality has gone down meanwhile prices have gone up. So sad and we've been looking for other sushi spots to replace this one that was near and dear to our hearts.
