I'm mixed here. The male staff at this place are superb, all were highly professional, in-tune with your needs, got you a menu before you looked up and prepared the very original meal WELL. Most sushi bowls would just give you the protein over rice. Or have so much crap on top or sauces that none of it blends well, makes sense, or even tastes any good. This place had incredible spicy sushi prepared originally AND their crunchy original sides are something I would order alone (flavorful, delicious, well thought out flavors - not some thoughtless after-thought that many sides are - that BALANCE OUT the meal so you get your veggies deliciously in, though most places do not give a f*** about your health or a balanced meal and will not include veggies, just carbs and protein for your tastebuds) on the other hand...the single female asian worker there (in her 40s) wore a white collared polo shirt with dark pants, hair in pony-tail PUT A HAIR IN MY MISO SOUP BAG. thought she could get away with it since i ordered to go, but since I decided to eat there instead, i knew it was deliberate because of the previous yelper review about finding hair in her food. it was the same jet black hair on the lady's head and she was the only one handling my to-go bag. someone there needs to be fired. she was in stark (and deliberate) contrast to her male peers' professionalism. pretty odd for someone her age acting so immature and rebellious, you would expect it from someone much younger. who knows why. not me. just keep a razor eye on her if she touches your food. I haven't had the sushi here in a while..but I've gotten the spicy salmon poke bowl and it's pretty good. It's not the usual cubed raw salmon, but pretty much the sliced salmon they put in your sushi that's marinated already in spicy mayo. It's a quick lunch place to grab something for your meal at your desk. Prices are decent- much cheaper than roche brothers and avana. I've come back twice already. Honestly super yummy: great flavor and huge portions with diverse options. Lunch Bento box is the most worth it since it comes with various sides. In terms of flavor and quality, it's definitely a five star rating and it would've been a 5-star overall except I found some hair in the rice and promptly lost my appetite. Don't judge a book by its cover. Yes, it's food court sushi. No, that doesn't sound appetizing. Yes, I did a fair amount of googling for peace of mind regarding quality and freshness because no one wants to wake up in the middle of the night having to play the "which end is it going to come out first" game. I've been having all these weird cravings lately for random things that I haven't had in a while. It started with carbonara and now I'm onto tuna poke bowls. Went onto Ritual and ordered up a spicy tuna don and the perfect match appetizer. Unexpected toppings on the spicy tuna don made it a really perfect bite. It had edamame and spicy pickles, and if you are like me, and you love pickles and you love tuna but you are questioning, "do these things actually go together"...well, THEY DO. Super generous portion at $14.00. You are more than getting what you are paying for. The Perfect Match appetizer features salmon, tuna, cucumber and avocado mixed with spicy mayo and topped with citric tobiko (fish eggs). I tasted a hint of strawberry and it was just this fresh, yummy smack of umami and I loved it. I hope I love it as much tomorrow. Staff was super friendly. No one put any hair in my food (I checked since previous Yelp reviews got me all paranoid) on purpose or by accident. Also, that little kitchen was glistening in terms of cleanliness. Solid sushi at a hard to beat price point. Don't let the location (inside the mall food court) put you off. The sushi is solid and they're super quick. I like their spicy salmon and tuna rolls, in part because they don't use tempura flakes as filler. One of the best items on the menu (especially value wise) is their spicy salmon bowl. Or spicy tuna bowl if you prefer that. It's $9 and they give you a generous portion of fish, some edamame and other treats, over a bowl of sushi rice. Used to be a great little place, not sure what happened really. You'd get lots of sushi for a great price, always made fresh. However, recently they've been lazy with my orders and giving me prepackaged sushi instead. Bleh. The rice is cold and hard from sitting all day in the fridge. So. Effing. Good. I hate the Corner Mall. HATE. So when I was told that the best sushi in DTX could be found within I was skeptical but Yelp seemed to agree. Hmm On my first visit I tried a few pre-made item. Veggie California, avocado roll, and miso soup. My companion ordered a Philadelphia roll and shrimp maki. We had a TON of food and all was delicious. The miso soup is super good and balances the salty miso out well. All rolls were delicious but the stand out was the Philadelphia roll. So yummy. Since then I have been back three times and every time I have been pleased. Even though this is in the Corner Mall and every time I go in I feel like I die a little I love this little place. Descent Sushi at amazing prices. This place is always a shock walking into the corner-mall food court. Its decorated like a traditional Sushi restaurant, but in the entrance way to a 90's style food court, across from a Dunkin Donuts. I still can't get over the fact that the Corner Mall has good Sushi. I used to work in at Weight Watchers when they had a location on Winter Street, and would find myself in Downtown Crossing at dinner time, searching for a place to go for a healthy dinner. Sushi Time in the Corner Mall became my go to dinner place. Their salmon and avocado rolls are delicious and fresh. The staff is quick to take your order and get you on your way, since they're used to feeding rushing people on break from their jobs. If they don't have what you're looking for in their display case already made up, ask and they will gladly make some new maki for you. The prices are reasonable (only $10 for 12 maki rolls). The only draw back to Sushi Time is that they're cash only, so plan ahead if you only carry plastic in your wallet. read more

We decided to try something new outside of sushi and we got bento boxes. Bento box #1. My food was contaminated with none other than a ROACH. I was so appalled. I will not be returning. We returned to the location, they quickly refunded me but it seemed like they were trying to get us out of there as quickly as possible so the other patrons wouldn't hear what was going on. Sushi Time has saved me so many times from having to make a thoughtful choice about what to eat for lunch. When it comes to food, I am incredibly lazy and it is only by sheer luck that I have not died from the nonperishable things I have ingested since my early twenties. Sushi Time is inside the Corner Mall food court, a place that resembles a food court if the zombie apocalypse had happened back in 1999, but we managed to get our shit together sort of, so now things look like they're from the '70s a little bit, but the people are emaciated and still skeptical as to whether the other patrons MIGHT be infected, even though we wiped out the zombie virus DEFINITIVELY in '08, but you know you can never be sure. What's amazing about Sushi Time is that they have the cutlery down to a science. I think I've spent about as much as it costs to buy a Tesla Roadster there (okay, maybe a little less), and every single time when I order the $6.95 sushi box with a $2 cup of fruit and a $2 Snapple I get exactly 2 packets of soy sauce, a pair of chopsticks wrapped in a napkin, a single plastic spoon, and a little plastic tray for the soy sauce. This enables me to eat my sushi anywhere I want: in my office, on top of a dumpster, in the middle of the street, in a free-fall from an airplane, etc. I'm not being facetious here. The people who run Sushi Time are nice to me, and they work hard. Definitely harder than I do these days, and definitely harder than you do. The sushi is okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. I mean, they have to make a lot of it and given the kind of zombie-fearing patrons they have to deal with, it makes sense. You can also sit at the sushi bar and order sushi that their chefs will make right in front of you. They have soups and things, and there's a menu of stuff they will make you right there. I've never done that because it sounds like a lot of work for me, so I usually get my plastic bag with a smiley face on it and go. Well, they try to cover up his workspace, but when you sit down in front of him and if you're tall enough, you'll see him working. Which is good, because you can see what he puts in your sushi. I'm not really fond of their maki, but I really love inari and tamago. The ladies who work there love to converse in Chinese with me. They're really friendly. My order only came to $18 so I found that very unlikely and when I challenged it, suddenly someone forgot how to speak English. I'm an accountant, not an idiot. Shame-shame! 3) Lastly, please serve what is being advertised. I know that this is your business and you can run it how you want, but please don't call something a Caterpillar Roll if you don't know how to make one, or have run out of the proper ingredients. Both the tuna and salmon rolls are great, and I LOVE their yellowtail and scallion roll. The miso soup is also pretty solid. An order of yellowtail and scallion maki is $4, while the tuna salmon combo (16 pieces) was about $6. You really can't beat that. I've lived in Boston for almost eight years and in the area most of my life and had never been in the Corner Mall until Sushi Time gave me a (damn good) reason. read more

I have been to much nicer, much more expensive places, and not been as HAPPY as I am each time I eat here. It's actually one of my favorite spots, especially if I'm by myself and just want some really good sushi. They also have take-out. Don't let the fact that they're in a food court fool you- if you don't get one of the pre-packaged specials, they're not all that cheap. However, they won't break you, you can watch the chef fix your fish, and again, it's REALLY, REALLY GOOD. I usually have salmon, tuna, and red snapper nigiri with some type of roll. read more

It's good. I tend to only get the poke dons, which is a decent amount of rice, pickled cucumbers, edamame, and sushi-grade fish on top. It also comes with a miso soup, and costs under $10. Pretty damn good for a meal, and deceptively filling. I kept an eye out for the hairs that people mention but I haven't seen anything. The one thing of note that kind of annoyed me; I ordered the Sushi Time Poke Don (the one that had like 8 different toppings and was priced accordingly) through Ritual, and the actual amount of fish was much, much less than the normal Spicy Tuna Poke Don that I usually get. Turns out all the toppings actually displace the amount of fish you get (since it's the same container), which was extremely disappointing. I'd say stick with the basic poke don. read more

I love this corner eatery! The baby quid salad is a little too marinated but still fresh, chewy and scrumptious. I love the spicy tuna rolls, the use of green onions is very complimentary to the sauce and tuna. The seaweed salad has too much marinade as well but still a great mix of fresh seaweeds. Sushi Time is surprisingly very good and the staff is ever so polite and friendly. Even though it's just a little counter in the Corner Mall food court, they still have their manners and serve you up some great green tea. The best part is the prices. I never like bargains on sushi because you always seem to get what you paid for but this place is up there with alot of local sushi eateries for half the price. read more

They could have put a little more tuna in the spicy tuna roll, and imitation shrimp in my california, but I accepted it for what it is, food court sushi. The miso soup, however was definately a fav, and the serving was pretty large. I would come back here for lunch during the week, but not on the weekends! I went here for dinner late on Sunday before they were closing for the night, and the sushi tasted worst than shaws.. like it had been refridgerated for days. I really wasn't expecting to be blown away here so this review is about right. I stopped in for a snack after doing some shopping. The prices are very cheap and your in a food court circa 1980's style. The place is cute with a small seating area. I didn't see any take out items so decided to get stuff off the menu. I went with the tuna nigiri and a philly roll. Everything was just OK for me. The salmon in the roll seemed a little tough and the rice seemed very mushy. The tuna though was soft and tasty. The lady at the counter and guy making the sushi were both very nice. For $8 for everything with a bottle of water, it was definitely a deal. read more

While Sushi Time is not the best sushi that I've had, I do think this place is somewhat of a small gem in the downtown Boston area. Great place to drop in for lunch and get a quick sushi fix. It's located in the Corner of the foodcourt so it might be a little bit difficult to find. The sushi is nothing remarkable but for the price, it's definitely meats expectations. They've got a pretty basic selection of sushi and you can order the standard rolls you see at most sushi places. I like sitting at the bar and eating there rather than pick up the already made sushi. Most of the different rolls I've had there have been quite good. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon have not disappointed me, as is the case with the hand rolls. Would recommend everyone try the baby octopus which is lightly seasoned with sesame as an appetizer order. Definitely an experience to have. One thing customers should note. When they ask you if you'd like water, this doesn't mean tap water, it means bottle water that they will charge for. Just wanting to give others a warning and not making the mistake I did! read more

Sushi Time is located at the corner mall across from the photo booth and Dunkin' Donuts right before you enter the real main area of the food court. The sushi itself is acceptable. It's pretty simple stuff, don't expect super fancy and fresh fish. They do have some decent special sushi rolls, but the best sellers is probably their prepackaged sushi lunch boxes. For about $7.00 you can get one of them and they come with about two makis. They have assortments like california roll and spicy salmon or all spicy tuna. The basic stuff. Even if you order it a la cart, you could probably get two makis under $10. The people aren't that friendly, but it is just take out. Remember to bring cash. read more

It's fast, cheap, and serves to momentarily satisfy a bit of your sushi craving considering Boston is Ericsson lacking in choices. Tuesdays and Thursdays they have shrimp tempura rolls. And if you like crazy sauces doused on your sushi, try the scallop roll. Unagi is actually broiled here and not soggy. Miso soup has plenty of seaweed and tofu pieces. Baby octopus is very well marinated. Seaweed salad is a bit too sour. Service is fast and polite. I once left too soon and forgot I had one more roll coming. The waitress actually ran all the way out the door to give it to me to-go. This is fast sushi, and there's nothing about this place that tries to hide it. read more

And, yes, one of the great things is that with take-out they give you little soy sauce trays. (Like you're supposed to have your own just lying around everywhere.) I've had the pre-made stuff twice so far. Not bad. The tuna's a bit *too* red for my tastes--must be food coloring, but we all partially eat with our eyes, right? I really enjoyed the maki combo, though. The seaweed salad is yummy (but I don't know if they make it there or not). Next time, I'm going to call in and order a la carte. Not Douzo or Haru, but significantly better than the stuff you'll pick up at the grocery store. Convenient place for downtown X-ing/financial district workers to satisfy a sushi craving. I've been searching for good sushi restaurant in the downtown area. This is definitely a miss. I didn't know what to expect, coming from the Corner Mall, but the reviews looked good, so I thought I would try it out. First off, the rice is TERRIBLE. For people who actually know sushi, rice is one of the most important components, so when they mess that up, you might as well stop eating. Which I would have if I didn't just spend 14 dollars for 2 small rolls of sushi. I was still starving after. Secondly, they skimp on the fish, so again don't be expecting to get a whole lot out of the money you pay. I will never eat here again. If you sushi fans are looking for somewhere to eat, I would suggest Samurai Eatery over this place. It's a little further from the crossing, but a little better.
