AMAZING SUSHI! Came here with a large group. They sat us within 10 minutes. We had to order from a QR code on the tables. We ordered sushi, gyoza and stir fry. Everything we ordered was amazing! The Hurricane roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've ever eaten.
It wasn't easy trying to get parking in Waikiki but we finally hit this Spot that our family from Washington DC highly recommended to us locals! I think they ate here about 4 times during the week long stay in Hawaii . It's unlike any other sushi place I've been to so we weren't sure what to expect. The vibe is relaxed and casual Coastal America (?) blended with the freshness and quality of good Japanese sushi . I was impressed with the creative presentation and artistry of the chef's knife that cut fine patterns and textures into the raw fish . Appetizers: -Fresh ahi salad- refreshing bowl of beautiful colors -Poke ball-a compact ball of spicy ahi , 'crab', and avocado covered with masago and different sauces served with big shrimp chips. Ask for a spoon to make it easier to scoop. Creative with a kick! -*Sushi Deluxe Combo- 12 piece omakase beautiful presentation and flavors. Some pieces were served with yuzu kosho a different heat from the usual wasabi. This was one my favorites -Red Spider - one of the many interesting maki rolls to choose from. This one had soft shell crab. -Kaisen Futomaki- great quality makes for great taste. I like how you could distinguish the ingredients individually (especially the bit of unagi) -*Udon-With an OK from the chef, Mom was able get Udon noodles and turn down the spice which made this amazing broth even easier to gulp down. This was my other favorite. They do not take rez here and apparently don't need to as there was a steady stream of customers passing thru all night. I was impressed that the staff was able to keep up while maintaining friendly service. Gochisoosamadeshita!
Came here for a quick bite, seems pretty unassuming on the outside but they have a decent amount of seating inside. After being seated the waitress quickly explained the ordering process (QR code ordering method). I got the rainbow roll, it was good, nothing extraordinary but rainbow rolls are a pretty basic roll. The waitress was friendly, but the service interaction was very minimal due to the QR code ordering format.
This small sushi spot in Waikiki offers a mix of Asian dishes like sushi, udon, and teriyaki chicken. The food was decent and hit the spot after a long day in Waikiki, but nothing particularly stood out compared to other options in the area. Overall, it was a fine, casual meal, but with so many great places nearby, we would probably try somewhere different next time we're back in Waikiki.
While the food was perfect l, the service set this place apart. Our greeter/server was warm, attentive, helpful with ordering and engaging. We arrived at kitchen closing time (approximately an hour before closing time); however, they were able to accommodate us and take our order. The food arrived promptly and well presented. Our dishes were delicious and made with our requested modifications!
There aren't enough words to describe the experience we had at The Sushi Spot in Waikiki. The food was impeccable- the sushi was fresh and light. The appetizers were delicious and the entrees (teriyaki chicken and steak) was chefs kiss. The service!! Five star!!! Flora was amazing and helped us so much. Being our first time in Honolulu, I'm so grateful for finding this place on accident. Can't wait to come back!!
I'd give this a 3.5 stars It's cozy and nice ambiance but with the QR codes to order, it's a bit cold/ impersonal and I did feel rushed as the server brought the payment device seconds after I ate the last bite and I was contemplating ordering more I came here at 8pm on a weekday after a long day of traveling and flight delays, so keep that in mind I just wanted a nice light dinner Compared to OC, prices are similar but slightly high ($8 for one piece salmon nigiri) Sashimi quality was decent but rice wasn't great Soft shell crab I love but it was way too saucy in some hot and sour type sauce
Sushi spot has been on my list for a while and we finally had the chance to give it a try. Space is pretty big. Service was great, food came out pretty fast and sushi tasted really good. We will be coming back to try brunch next.
It's always a concern when I'm in such a major tourist area like Waikiki what I might be getting myself into when I pick a restaurant. Genuine crafted dishes made with pride or "quick lets get them in and out the door" meals? The Sushi Spot Waikiki definitely falls in the former. Let me start off with service. We were immediately welcomed and shown to a table. Our server happily talked about the favorites on the menu which I always appreciate. I noticed that despite being like two blocks from the Pacific that the staff were upscaled with dark collared long sleeves. Coupled with the small venue I would recommend this for an intimate date night. Kinda classy. Food. They take great care crafting their dishes and each dish came out looking like little art pieces with flavor to match. I like that they are not heavy handed on their sauces when making their rolls. Tuna crispy onion. Seared ahi topped with deep fried onions, masago, and unagi sauce. Splendid. The Phoenix Roll. Literally dinner and a show rolled (hahaha pun) into one. Shrimp tempura, salmon spicy mayo and unagi sauce that is literally torched at your table creating a crisp caramelized coat. Keep your face at a respectful distance as you try to take close ups lol. The different textures played well together. The torching could be done in the kitchen so again I think a bit classy that it is done table side. We also got a softshell crab roll and did get an udon but no picture sorry. Sometimes I need to eat before the camera does lol. Would stop here again when in Waikiki!
Scrolling along I noticed this restaurant and wanted to try sushi while in Honolulu. Miso fish with salad and rice was fantastic with great depth of flavors. The fried squid was crispy and delicious. Overall, experience was amazing. The owner Daughter was an amazing host and the server were kind and professional. Located right across the ABC store which was convenient and easy to access. 5/5 and will definitely return the following day. The hospitality was amazing and ordering food was easy to use via scanning with the phone.
Aloha! I wish I could provide them with a five stars. The staff is welcoming and the place is very cozy but for some reason, the menu items aren't that exciting.

Sushi Spot is a cute little restaurant with tiny, almost hidden outdoor seating. Started with a round of Mai Tais - was not one of the better Mai Tais I have had on our visit. We ordered several different maki rolls, our favorites were Diamond Head and Red Dragon. Food came quick and service was good.

I must go back for the stuffed jalapenos they were the most delicious thing! Really nice sushi place around the corner and friendly hospitality. They seem to use a really good quality of fish and you can taste that. We loved the food and will definitely be back. read more

Sushi spot has been on my list for a while and we finally had the chance to give it a try. Space is pretty big. Service was great, food came out pretty fast and sushi tasted really good. We will be coming back to try brunch next. read more

Sushi Spot is a cute little restaurant with tiny, almost hidden outdoor seating. Started with a round of Mai Tais - was not one of the better Mai Tais I have had on our visit. This was our last dinner on the island. Our favorite restaurant closed at 8pm so we had to yelp a place worth trying that's open late. We wanted something casual instead of a bar setting. Service was great. Our server was warm and welcoming. Food was great! We all enjoyed our respective choices. They were all generous and perfect serving size. Mine was Baked Dynamite which took longer than everyone's order but totally understandable and well worth the wait. For a party of 5 or more, gratuity is included. read more

The bathroom toilet was covered in s***, We waited for 1h for any food to come out. The owner basically tore the menu from our hands while we were looking at it to give it to another customer. I witnessed the owner yelling at his staff in front of all the customers. My son's simple teriyaki dinner took 1.2h to come out. And the kicker? The salmonation roll had so little salmon.. First dinner is Waikiki and o man did I start it Off right. The place is small but mighty. It's nice and cozy since we are big group we got out side in the back but it made it that much better felt like we had our own private area. The guy that sat up and took our order was awesome gave great recommendations and very friendly. We ordered the cherry blossom this sushi was amazing. The tempura was nice and crispy the toppings were all so fresh the rice was something I had never had before. This all came together beautifully. The coconut flakes and the crab was a great add on. The second one was the red dragon again it came together great. The spicy was not spicy at all it added a great taste to everything. This place is fresh!! For the kids we got the chicken fried rice and the shrimp fried rice. They love it, it was seasoned good the rice and topping were fresh. The shrimp was very very enjoyable it was seasoned perfectly cooked to perfection not Chewy at all the rice was steamed nice. I over all recommend this place this is a must have while on the island. Kids got some dessert but I was not around for it will be back! read more
We ordered the gyoza for app. And it could use a side of sweet n sour sauce instead of soy sauce. For sushi rolls we ordered the baked dynamite roll which was my personal favorite and would def get again. 2nd best was red dragon and it was average plus. Last was goodbye Dracula which was too spicy and tbh had no other flavor besides the spice. Would not get again. read more

This was sooooo good! I asked the server for a lychee alcoholic beverage & he was able to make it for me & it was definitely the best lychee drink I've had! & the sushi... omg the sushi was so good the yellowtail was mmm mmm MMM! Came here because we wanted sushi and it was good reviews!! The food was delicious and good quality!! The service was good they sat us down 30 minutes before closing so I appreciate that!! I ordered miso soup, salmon nigiri, and their specialty rolls! Everything was good and fresh!! No complaints on my end. It's a small cute restaurant with a good variety of sushi! The food was simply AMAZING! We had Gyoza for an appetizer. The main dishes were the Philadelphia roll custom made and the goodbye Dracula roll. With some salmon Nigiri. 10/10 highly recommend this off the beaten path, small quaint spot. read more

I've worked in Waikiki for many years and I pass by the restaurant every day on my way home. I finally got to try it with my mom tonight! Everything was awesome to say the least. The service, food and atmosphere of the overall restaurant were great 10/10. Our tab came out to about $60 which is normal in Waikiki for three plates of food. Additionally the waitress Yuko asked where my mom and I were from and we let her know that we're actually local! She was delighted, and gave us some mochi ice cream which was so sweet of her! She also let us know when breakfast, lunch and dinner hours are which is awesome (Brunch Spot and Sushi Spot operate out of the same dining room). I will definitely be returning with the rest of my family. read more

The service is non existent!! They require you to scan QR code and order your meal. Few minutes later food starts to appear!! If you need additional items..religion into the app and order...like refill of water!!! Food was tasty, LARGE portions!!! Prices are about 25-30% more than most sushi bars we have visited including NYC!!!! read more

Where is the parking for your place? I went around the block looking for parking and did not find any parking which in your Yelp app says you have. Please let me know so I can come to enjoy your delicious sushi and food.
Are you able to make any reservations? I'm visiting from out of state and would love to try it...
This restaurant is walk-ins only. That being said, we were seated within 5 minutes at 6pm on a holiday.
