Came on a Tuesday night so it wasn't too busy! Plenty of parking and service was okay. We had sushi delivered to our table a few times when we did not order it and had to send it back. Menu is small ie. they don't have items like tuna/salmon crispy rice. Restaurant is also small in size so expect to have long wait times during peak hours. Most of the nigiri was $3.75 which is standard for revolving sushi bar prices. Other items vary in price. We got: -- salmon nigiri (my fav by far, fresh and vibrant + delicious) -- truffle salmon nigiri (worth a try, ok) -- yuzu jalapeño tuna nigiri -- shrimp crunch roll (don't recommend, not that good) -- tuna carpaccio -- raw shrimp nigiri (not as good as the one at Eat's Sushi + only tasted the sriracha on top and not the shrimp at all) -- squid nigiri (don't recommend, the flavor of the squid does not come through) -- yellowtail nigiri (personally i liked it but my sister didn't like the aftertaste) -- toro nigiri (another fav! so fresh and yummy) -- tempura I don't think I would go back, but it was worth a try!

i really wish i didn't have to write this review because the staff and ambiance was really nice. it was my first time trying this place, and i really liked the food but when i got home, i got extreme food poisoning. i'm still sick while writing this. so please beware of the sushi that revolves.

I finally got to try this revolving sushi place. I had to wait a while for hype to die down a bit and got lucky when I saw the waitlist wasn't super long. Quality is pretty decent and there was a good variety of the typical sushi you'd like. There were a couple of interesting combos like eel with strawberry? But I wasn't feeling that adventurous haha. There's also a pad you can order directly from the kitchen for things like hand rolls or cooked items. Or even if you want a specific type but don't see it in the belt. Those get shipped over to you on a separate belt. It's unfortunate they do not serve hot drinks as I usually like a hot tea when I get sushi. I found that a little odd. And my friend told me last time she came, they didn't have cold drinks. So maybe it's a maintenance thing?

Good food, quality sushi, fast service, and affordable prices! Came in for dinner with a friend, and despite the Yelp Waitlist telling us we were 7th in line, there was actually no one there when we arrived so we were able to be seated right away! We ordered so much from the menu and also grabbed from the conveyor belt as well. Everything came out so quickly, was quality, delicious, and so affordable!! We stayed until we were some of the last people there (sorry! The food was just too good and we wanted to finish everything) but the staff was so nice about it and didn't rush us out. Can't wait to come back soon!

This is the highest-quality revolving sushi spot I've ever been to. We left incredibly stuffed for only $70, which is a rare find for this level of freshness. Seared Salmon: My absolute favorite. It has a perfect smoky flavor that really stands out. Other must tries: The truffle salmon, garlic albacore, scallop, and the toro (both the hand roll and gunkan) were all top-tier. Our waiter was so friendly. He even laughed it off when I accidentally pulled an entire container off the belt! The revolving belt is great, but they also have a screen for ordering specialty rolls and other items directly (please add the seared salmon to this, i didn't see it as an option) Definitely coming back!!!

Strawberry unagi

I came with my wife on a Friday night during peak dinner time (7:30 pm) to a 90 minute wait. Yikes! Luckily, Yelp waitlist is a great friend. You can join at 4 miles away. Right away we noticed the modern and tasteful aesthetic. The restaurant design is very impressive - fellas take notes for an easy date night. Intimate seating arrangement with only booths, which still feel private despite the proximity to other diners. Looked like a max of 6 people per table. As expected, the iconic revolving belt runs the entire dining area where you'll find the classic selections trucking along. In addition you can order specifics (rolls, apps, etc) through your table tablet or a server as well. On that note, the good part: the food! I'll highlight some of our favorites. I'm personally a sucker for seared sushi - I recommend the shrimp and salmon. Deliciously smoky and subtly rich. So good I think i had over a dozen total pieces. What looked like their signature dish as I've never seen this before: the strawberry unagi. At first I was a bit skeptical, but it is uniquely addicting and refreshing. Sometimes unagi can be excessively rich with sauce abuse, but the strawberry does help balance it out along with a lighter glaze This is also the first place i've seen have truffle sushi so we had to try the truffle salmon. It's an explosion of flavor but still well-balanced. It's not simply "truffle oil" but a dollop of paste that seems to be made in-house. This is my wife's favorite, she had nearly 10 pieces herself lol Toro - literally melts in your mouth. Must try!! We were served by Will who was very friendly and attentive. The manager Nelson also stopped by to make sure everything was great (it was). Excellent staff service all around. Lastly, it was pretty reasonably priced for bougie sushi. We were stuffed with probably over 20 total plates which ran us a bit over $70. Very worth. Overall highly recommend this place if you're craving sushi!

Finally was able to try this place out after hearing many good things about this place. Came here after a movie around 5:30pm on a Wednesday and there was a wait for a party of 1. Restaurant is pretty small but the wait took about 10 minutes before I was sat. The servers here were awesome. When I was sat, I was asked if it was my first time here and he explained how everything worked. Being I've been to a conveyor sushi place before, it was cool he still explained everything thoroughly and told how many plates I could order at a time. They also clean and set up the tables. I ordered several small plates and some karaage. Karaage arrived on the belt and it was pretty good! Some of the pieces were dry but the mayo made up for it. Next up was the sushi! Some of the sushi pieces when it comes to the rice ratio were pretty small. Overall though, the only roll I had a problem with was the seared squid. The squid was bit tough to chew compared to other squid sushi I've had at other restaurants which must mean it wasn't that fresh. Everything else was really good especially the seared sushi. Would highly recommend getting the seared salmon and scallop here. Considering how much I ate it was around $54 plus tip. The dangerous part about this place is you may feel like you're overpaying for all that you order here but I think it was a fair price for all that I ate here. This is definitely a good spot to get your sushi fix in! Definitely come early though cause it does get busy and they can't really accommodate bigger parties in my opinion.

Ugh so so good!!

I've been to three other revolving sushi places and this is by far my fave! Been here multiple times because anything truffle is a must for me! They have obviously the revolving sushi but you can also submit orders through an iPad. There's a broad selection to choose from. The price is reasonable and the quality of sushi is pretty good. The place is on the smaller side for how many people can be seated but the service has always been prompt and friendly. I highly recommend coming here for your sushi fix! Yum yum!

There are many sushi spots called "REV," but finding one that is actually this good and consistent is super rareee. Besides the fresh food and well-balanced portions, the menu is very diverse and creative. Service was friendly, attentive, and clearly well trained. I also noticed someone who seemed like the manager checking on customers multiple times, which shows they really care about the experience. Parking is spacious and convenient too. This was already my second visit, and I truly hope the restaurant continues to grow and succeed

Truffle seaweed tuna. It's so delicious and unique.

Sushi Rev offers delicious sushi and in a great environment. I always enjoy coming here. You can order off the electronic tablet or pick the sushi off the conveyer belt. Food: They offer various nigiri sushi and cut rolls. My favorite items are the toro nigiri, truffle seaweed tuna, avocado salmon nigiri. and ultimate salmon roll (cut roll). Service: Most of the employees are friendly and attentive during your visit. Ambiance: The interior is very nice and modern. The seating is comfortable. Suggestions: I would like it if they expanded their menu. It would be cool if they added miso soup or new sushi rolls to the menu to expand it. Overall: I really enjoy coming to Sushi REV for a delicious sushi lunch or dinner. If you enjoy eating sushi, you will like Sushi REV.

Dave L.

Excellent place to go for sushi. It is still one of our favorites. Please continue to develop your menu. I know the restaurant is small but an ice maker would really be welcomed and some hot miso soup. Fountain drinks would add to the positive experience of being there. I would also suggest some dessert items on the belt to create more of a variety of tastes. I love the seaweed salad and hot items to order. Keep up the good work guys!! We love Sushi Rev.

Yellowtail Truffle
Tim L.

As someone who's been to his fair share of conveyor belt sushi spots, I had to see what the hype was about. Honestly, it delivered. The interior is sleek and modern, one that you'd expect from a newer Irvine/Tustin spot. It feels fancier compared to your typical revolving sushi joint, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit. The servers are accommodating and the vibes are lively. It's your blend of people who come in for a quick bite and those that come in to stay for a bit, enjoying every single item on their menu. On that note, the truffle yellowtail and toro are absolute must-orders, composed of a rich and buttery flavor, with just the right amount of truffle flavor without being overwhelming. As for appetizers, the chicken karaage was a standout: crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned. On the other hand, the mussels looked more flavorful than they actually tasted. It wasn't bad, just a bit underwhelming in flavor compared to the expectations the presentation warranted. If you're ordering from their kiosk, they'll send your food to your table. Tip: make sure to press that green button on the machine, so that it can be returned back to the kitchen (I had not known about this the first time)! The menu is still on the smaller side, so don't come in expecting a wide selection of soups or ramen. Since it is a newer place, I think it needs a bit more time to develop. Prices run a bit higher than other revolving sushi spots, but with the quality and being in Irvine, the price is pretty on par. Parking can be a little tricky right out front, but there are plenty of lots throughout "Market Place" so you won't have to walk too much. I'll definitely keep an eye on this establishment, and hope for a menu expansion!

1. The sushi pieces were good, and I love the variety! I also like the Jalapeno poppers! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! The interior has a modern design! 3. The staff was friendly and attentive! 4. There is only indoor seatings! There are a lot of tables! 5. Parking lot is huge! Nearby parking can get crowded depending on time and day! Note: Card Payment can be done with server at the table! Photo: sushi and Jalapeno poppers

Can you take walk ins for parties of 8?

Yes we can!

What is the typical price point for a party of two?

Hi Craig It all depends how hungry you are :) For a party pf 2 I've paid around $70 and for a party of 3 around $120. Hope this helps :) and enjoy!

Does it have meat sushi version ? Like how in Kura has some

They have cooked meat like karaage (chicken nuggets) and shrimp tempura and cooked fish collar, but you need to order from the tablet at your individual table, it's not on the rotating conveyor. They cook to order and bring to your table direct

Gone are the charming slips of paper where you write in your seat number and tick off your orders and slip it into the order cylinders that rotate its way to the chefs while also having the waiters available for the incidental things you require like beverages and condiments. In its place is you holding your phone and desperately tapping it, whether you're trying to get a cup of water or a hand roll. Neither will come out very fast and it's completely frustrating. Walking in, I noted how easy it was to get a seat this time. Now I know why. The food remains mostly basic and mid level quality. Random dishes roll out on the conveyor belt so that's accessible as soon as you see something you like but the items you really want, like the daily specials, you have to order. And that's going to take a long time, you'll be forced to pick up things you only half want just to have something to eat. Adding up the bill is another trial. Four of us sat at a booth table. They had no way of offering us separate bills even though that is standard when you're sitting at the individual seats. Why don't they just add a letter to your booth number for each person?? Anyway it took the waitress at least 15-20 minutes standing there to figure everything out and even then it was messed up with things being left off some bills, wrong items added to wrong bills and double charges for others. When told of these mischarges, she told us to work it out amongst ourselves. I wish I could have but I didn't even get a receipt, just told an amount to give her as she walked away. There must have been a change in ownership. The entire wait staff is now Vietnamese and the chefs are Mexican. Nobody Japanese left in sight. That's not necessarily a requirement but the restaurant sure ran better with the previous Japanese owners and staff. I will probably go elsewhere for my conveyor belt sushi fix from now on. Maybe wait for the next owners to show up.

We ordered the following: Agedashi Tofu: This was honestly the highlight of the meal. I have been craving this appetizer, but not many places around here actually offer it. The last place I tried this was at Haku, and I was not impressed by it. However, the tofu here was really good! It was hot, crispy, and the sauce was perfectly sweet and salty. It comes with 4 larger sized pieces of tofu, which I thought was great, but could have been more for the price. Stir Fry Udon: This dish was advertised outside on one of their stand up signs by the front door. This is part of what brought us in, but upon receiving it, I was not too impressed. The sauce was extremely dark and it already looked salty. When I actually tasted it, I was not surprised that it tasted exactly how it looked. It was way too salty and saucey to the point, we were eating one bite then drinking water right after. It was a pretty simple dish with what looked like frozen carrots and peas and some cut up chicken. Lunch Bento Box Option 2: We opted in for the teriyaki salmon, gyoza, and salmon roll. It came with a side of salad and miso soup. The salmon was cut very thin and it did not have enough teriyaki sauce on it. It was on the dry side. The gyoza was nothing too special. Just felt frozen then dried with gyoza sauce. Miso soup and salad were also just decent. The best part of this meal probably had to be the salmon roll. I liked the big portions of salmon and the little rice on the outside. This was the perfect balance instead of just getting a mouthful of rice each bit like most other sushi places do. I think this place was decent, overall. The prices were definitely on the higher side for what you get. Nothing too much to rave about other than the agedashi tofu, so I will be by for that again, but not sure if I would necessarily get anything else. Service was attentive and great. Just know, not all their offerings are actually listed on the menu, so we did not even know how much the stir fry udon was until we got charged for it.

They also offer some solid lunch specials, which is a nice option if you're stopping by during the day. It was very quiet when we visited, we were actually the only ones there, so I'm curious to see if it gets more lively at other times. I'd be open to giving it another try in the future.

I personally can't handle too much when it comes to sushi, so I only ordered 1 seared salmon roll, and I got full off it quick, but the flavor from the seared salmon was good and balanced the fatty feeling I typically get. Plus the hint of sriracha and spicy mayo added a kick, but in a good way. The mushroom miso soup was so good to have on the side, not too salty, very savory in my opinion which I liked. The salmon carpaccio was amazing, definitely have to order that if you're coming here in my opinion as it's an all around good dish. Garlic edamame was okay, it's just an average side dish to have with everything, just would maybe ask for a tiny bit less garlic overall? But it didn't ruin the dish. Lastly, I had the takowasa, and I was really surprised with this. I've never had raw octopus, but this was very wasabi heavy and the texture was really interesting. It was kind of like really firm popping boba, and tasted mostly like wasabi. The only thing I didn't try from was her deluxe chirashi don, but in her words, it was perfect and so good that she'd be thinking of this place often.
