Was very satisfied and shocked by their workflow. There was a line but we were seated very quickly. All of our food came within 10min. It was packed it there was only 1-2 servers on our side but our server Oscar was still able to check up on us frequently . Immediately when we were done with a plate, the busser was quick to grab . We were a bit intimidated because it looked crowded when we first got there, but the restaurant is so large and we were seated within 5 minutes. It's a pretty dimly lit restaurant and it feels like a rave every time there's a birthday because they play really loud music with lights lol. Our servers were all very nice and grabbed our things very quickly when we asked for them! For the food, we started with the garlic edamame, chicken cutlet, and grilled salmon belly. They were all super well-made! The edamame and grilled salmon belly were seasoned very well, and the chicken cutlet was crispy but still juicy. Of course my favorite part was the sushi. Their nigiri prices are unbeatable for the quality and how thick the fish cuts are. My favorites were the bluefin tuna and the yellowtail belly, but everything was super fresh and delicious! I travel all the time for this place. Not sure if the 50% off is just a marketing tactic but either way Im genuinely always satisfied after every visit. The staff are attentive, the bussers are always pre-bussing and the atmosphere is lively, it can be a bit too dark for older crowds. If your dining in anytime after 7pm, be sure to make reservations. Sometimes the wait line be out the door. They have another location off of Newport but in my opinion that location is not as good and much much smaller. My favorite appetizer is the Fried Jalepenos and my "go-2" rolls are the Green Goblin and the Baked Cheesy Carroll. read more

The servers were nice but since there's limited room, they're sometimes up in your personal space trying to help other tables lol. This place is a great bang for your buck! There's other places in OC for that. This is a place of celebration and good vibes above all else. Wait times can vary so I'd recommend allotting 15-20 minutes of a wait, especially for weekend dinners. Service is semi-quick, but depends on the server. My favorite/go-to roll is sun-kissed since I'm usually a cream cheese hater but they somehow managed to find the sweet spot of creamy and freshness with the added lemon slices. We also got a salmon collar. The salmon collar was moist and delicious. I love that you get two pieces of collar instead of the usual one at most restaurants. We got a green goblin roll and a red goblin roll. The green goblin has spicy crabmeat and cucumber on the inside and avocado and cilantro on the outside. Really nice and refreshing. The red goblin has spicy tuna on the inside and albacore, bbq sauce, crunchy garlic and red onion on the outside. Such a crazy flavor combination that really works. And we also got the Love Boat. You get nigiri, sashimi and a rainbow roll and an onion blossom albacore roll. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. My friends and I wanted to get AYCE sushi, but unfortunately when we asked the server, he said they do not have that deal anymore. We went on a Friday night and it was busy. We waited around an hour to be seated and waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The ambiance was alright. They had a special for when it is someone's birthday where they turn off the lights and play loud music, so if you are sensitive to flashing lights, I would avoid this place. The sushi was amazing! We ordered so much and was so full at the end of it. The sushi tasted fresh and there was a good ratio between rice and fish. We had gotten 4 salmon nigiris, 4 yellowtail sushi, 8 salmon belly sushi, 8 yellowtail belly sushi, and 6 jumbo scallop sushi. The total bill for everything was $143.40 (before tax). read more

Great sushi spot that has been offering 50% off most rolls and even nigiri. There's a parking lot out front that's shared with other businesses in the plaza. They have a tablet outside to add yourself to the waitlist. Restaurant was pretty busy on a Sunday evening but we were seated quickly. Fish was fresh, food was good, staff were friendly even given how extremely busy it was. The only issue is that because it was so busy order accuracy was not ideal. We had ordered 3 rolls and yellowtail nigiri, server went over the order with us before putting it in but when the food arrived the nigiri ended up being a sashimi (which is not part of the 50% off deal) and one of the rolls was forgotten. Server was able to get the third roll out eventually and we ended up just taking the sashimi and not bothering bringing up the mix up. read more
