I work in the area and my co-worker recommended this place. We went for lunch and I was pretty satisfied. It is quite beautiful and modern. We ordered a variety of items. The spicy agadashi tofu was one point. I've had spicy before and it was sopping in sauce. This was the perfect amount and was soooo good. The rolls were good, except one was too fishy tasting for me and my friend. The spring rolls were on point, as well as the shrimp tempura. I am planning on coming back. If you're in the area, you should really come and have some grub. The service is excellent. This place seems like it would be a great night out. Looking forward to coming back.

I've always wanted to try this new-ish sushi place nearby so last Friday we did a take away. We ordered chicken teriyaki, gyoza, spicy salmon sashimi, "Menu A" and, takoyaki. It's a bit pricier than the other sushi restos in the area but they seem to have a better selection of combined sushi and, the fish was very fresh. "Menu A" consisted of California roll, dynamite roll and spicy tuna (my choice). I really liked the rice that surrounded the rolls, it was neither too sticky nor too soft and had the right balance of sweetness and acidity. The spicy salmon sashimi was also very good. The fish was cut so evenly and the sauce was thick, sweet and spicy. The portion of the teriyaki was generous and well sauced. T1he appys were disappointing though. For $9, we got 4 overly fried gyoza (was it deep fried???). It was dry and tasteless. The takoyaki was also a bust. The exterior was also over dried and, the octopus was tough, dry and tasteless - the creamy sauce couldn't save it. Btw, the soy sauce packets that came with our order was too salty. If I order here again, I'll stay away from the appys.

Sushi On was used to be Ginza Sushi in Port Coquitlam. During COVID, it has moved to the new location and changes the name. After we moved, my husband and I have ordered sushi rolls from this restaurant so many times. The food are already fresh and tasty. Our favorite dish is the lunch combo - Beef/Chicken Teriyaki Bento. It's around $11 including 6 pieces California rolls, Tempura, Spring Rolls, Green salad, and Beef/Chicken Teriyaki with Rice. Food is large portion. Two people can share the whole meal together. Beef Teriyaki is very delicious, especially beef is very fresh. Besides the lunch combo, the special rolls at this place are also yummy too. We had Godzilla Rolls, Angry Bird Rolls, Popcorn Rolls, Sweetie Rolls and etc. All the special rolls are tasty. BUT, we still think if we can dine in, they will be taste better than take out. We will definitely go back to Sushi On after COVID over. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Three words... SPICY TUNA ROLLS! They are so soft, flavourful and heaven for your tongue. Even when your stomach is completely filled to the brim you still consider ordering another, they're just that amazing! This is me right now :-) :-) :-) you need some of this spicy tuna in your life. My husband had the Viking roll pictured below almost couldn't get a picture in time because he was chowing down. Beware though the Viking roll requires a lot of stomach room it's a big boy!

This restaurant is very busy, especially for takeout. They could use a waiting room area or a bench outside. Something needs to be done to organize the chaos at the front door. The inside is nice. Especially the lighting. It was clean and had a few nice design features. The rolls were different sizes and prices. Some medium and some big. The food came on nice bowls and plates. The menu had good pictures. No big tables for large groups and I wouldn't recommend the menu for kids that aren't use to sushi. I give the food a solid B. The staff were scurrying about the entire time and forgetting things because they were trying to keep track of so much. They forgot to bring us part of our meal and didn't check on our table until we were done. The music was also too fast paced and it seemed like as soon as we finished our meal they wanted us out of there so they could seat more people. I would say the restaurant and food is pretty good but the atmosphere is hurried and rushed and they need more staff. Over charging people for food that you didn't bring them seems to be a popular little scam amongst sushi restaurants in general. We have probably experienced that over a dozen times.

Fave new place. Fresh and delicious. Ordered off DoorDash, no clue about the interior or service. Spicy salmon roll was perfect. Crunchy cali roll was tasty and fun. Would get again. Salmon sashimi was fresh ...huge pieces. Would order less next time.

Sanago roll, Ginza Battera, Negitoro Battera

From their website, I think this is the former Gonzalo Sushi in Port Coquitlam. During covid, they are only doing takeout. We actually ordered ahead online and then went to go pick up. We ordered the Sanago Roll, Ginza Battera, and Negitoro Battera. We had no complaints but certainly other restaurants have elevated their aburi sushi offerings a little more. We would come back if we were in the neighbourhood but wouldn't make a special trip out to visit.

Love this place! I can't wait to come back and try more of their items, I got the angry bird roll which was MASSIVE! Definitely more than enough for 2 people.

Good portions. A bit warm but we are a 15 minute drive away. Can't wait to be able to dine in and try it.

A no-nonsense restaurant that has simple decorations, but really fresh food. Came on a weekday and had made a reservation, but it was quite quiet around dinner time. Isobe-Age (4/5) - $7.25 Taste: Never had an appy quite like this - raw tuna wrapped in tempura style seaweed. It was fresh, served warm, and the dashi broth that it was dipped in was delicious. The textures were complex, the fish was soft, while the seaweed was crunchy and somehow it worked. However, I'm not sure if I would have preferred this served as either a cold dish or a hot dish, but instead it was a bit of both? Portion Size: 4 pieces Deluxe assorted nigiri sushi (5/5) - $34.75 Taste: I would order this again in a heartbeat. They offer a wide selection of fish that is not served at most Japanese restaurants including shima-aji, homemade tamago, amaebi. I think the quality of the fish is extremely fresh and comparable to omakase spots in Vancouver. The tamago was especially delicious and I don't even typically prefer tamago. Portion Size: Good portion for 1 person [Value for Money] While it's quite far away from the city, I can vouch for the drive out. It's worth it to try this restaurant for the quality of its fish. Perhaps omakase you can get elsewhere, but the deluxe assorted sushi itself was WELL worth its price.

An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger. Between the 14 unbelievably mouth watering and satisfying dishes, Chef K and Chika's kindness shared the spotlight easily. Humble beginnings have led to an extraordinary and legendary journey for SKK. Some of the special highlights were the blue fin tuna, South American jumbo prawn, Spanish mackerel and the scallops. I cannot wait to bring my omakase/metal loving friends and family here to join in on the greatness because sharing truly is caring and this gem is too awesome to keep to myself!

The dinner ended up being over 2.5 hours which was longer than we expected, but I found it worthwhile. Something to note, you need to pre-book your reservation online and pay a deposit of $50/person. I am not privy to the contractual agreements that our local restaurants make with food delivery services such as Skip The Dishes, but if food costs begin to increase, certainly most customers will understand that restaurant prices must also increase in order to remain competitive in their quality after noticing a downward change in their fresh fish and teriyaki dishes, we tried adjusting our orders so we could obtain a quality dinner via delivery, even if it meant paying a little more - after all, it's the quality of the food and the taste of the sauces, etc that one is really looking for in a Japanese restaurant, not a cheap bargain for maki and nigiri items, and yet that seems to be exactly what Sushi Fu seems to have done - as if they refused to change their prices, and instead preferred to downgrade their customer's expectations and begin cutting corners in ways that made it impossible to remain a customer - at least in our case the final straw occurred when Sushi Fu appear to have started using cheaper nori, and then serving maki that seemed to have been made more than a day in advance and then improperly stored - making for food items that became nothing short of totally revolting - tough grains of rice around dry salmon, wrapped in tough and tasteless nori that was utterly impossible to leave in the mouth, let alone swallow.. I still shudder when I recall the last meal we ordered from them - totally unacceptable maki and salmon teriyaki that left a sour taste in the mouth and was served on a bed of mostly cheap onion slices I suppose that being an expert sushi chef outside of Japan doesn't also guarantee the expected expertise in choosing food supplies at market, so my thoughts ran to the possibility of poor decisions and uninformed food changes being made by Sushi Fu, where price was the only consideration that could not be changed, and predictably the entire experience that had been so carefully crafted for years was now left in ruins
