Sushi Fu used to be a family favourite for years until recently.. the food they supplied via Skip The Dishes was very reasonably priced and always appealing in both flavour and appearance, but for some odd reason, the quality of the food supplied via Skip The Dishes began to slip in mid-2024 and it has yet to recover one of Sushi-Fu's very best features was their kitchen - and in particular, their teriyaki dishes - which were always reliably excellent, particularly the salmon - of which one always received a generous amount - served on a bed of quality vegetables, and when combined with an appetizer or two, made for a highly satisfying meal at a very reasonable cost it's that kind of quality and value that will keep customers regularly returning for years, as was the case for our family Sushi-Fu also maintained very high standards for their sushi and sashimi, making for a highly enjoyable feast at a very reasonable cost, until something changed and things began to go downhill very quickly.. I am not privy to the contractual agreements that our local restaurants make with food delivery services such as Skip The Dishes, but if food costs begin to increase, certainly most customers will understand that restaurant prices must also increase in order to remain competitive in their quality after noticing a downward change in their fresh fish and teriyaki dishes, we tried adjusting our orders so we could obtain a quality dinner via delivery, even if it meant paying a little more - after all, it's the quality of the food and the taste of the sauces, etc that one is really looking for in a Japanese restaurant, not a cheap bargain for maki and nigiri items, and yet that seems to be exactly what Sushi Fu seems to have done - as if they refused to change their prices, and instead preferred to downgrade their customer's expectations and begin cutting corners in ways that made it impossible to remain a customer - at least in our case the final straw occurred when Sushi Fu appear to have started using cheaper nori, and then serving maki that seemed to have been made more than a day in advance and then improperly stored - making for food items that became nothing short of totally revolting - tough grains of rice around dry salmon, wrapped in tough and tasteless nori that was utterly impossible to leave in the mouth, let alone swallow.. I still shudder when I recall the last meal we ordered from them - totally unacceptable maki and salmon teriyaki that left a sour taste in the mouth and was served on a bed of mostly cheap onion slices I suppose that being an expert sushi chef outside of Japan doesn't also guarantee the expected expertise in choosing food supplies at market, so my thoughts ran to the possibility of poor decisions and uninformed food changes being made by Sushi Fu, where price was the only consideration that could not be changed, and predictably the entire experience that had been so carefully crafted for years was now left in ruins read more

This "restaurant" is the first and only reason I decided to download and make a Yelp account, genuinely, you would have to taste it yourself to understand the feeling of pure disgust I had the displeasure of induring, but I would strongly advise against it. It tasted like the embodiment of walking downtown east side. They served a dynamite roll with iceberg lettuce... ICEBERG LETTUCE! hiya! I felt the disapproving aura of thousands of years of Asian heritage permeate the room and pierce my pores, the vibe of the restaurant felt as if they were aware of the quality of food and were trying to cover up for it by creepily lurking and watching us eat, waiting for us to eat the last grain of rice so they could scoop up our plates for us before we could even get the last piece into our mouths. I ordered the beef teriyaki and the beef looked white and gelatinous, the texture was that of wet corrugated cardboard covered in sauce, like they didn't steam it for nearly enough time. I didn't order a miso soup, but my father did, "you can't really screw up miso soup, it was acceptable" he says. The amount of watery oil in my plate could probably have filled the the bowl equal to the amount of soup in the miso soup bowl. The moment my Beef teriyaki got to the table it was leaking out all over the table and dripped onto my shorts. Thank god they were quick on the water though, I was really thirsty for a nice refreshing cup room temperature H2O! I can't tell you what to do but, If you value your mental health in any way I would avoid stepping foot in this establishment, do with with this information what you will. Stay safe. read more

I love being surprised when I order from a restaurant for the first time! We felt like Japanese the other night so we ordered from one of the food delivery services from a local sushi restaurant, Sushi Fu. The prices seem reasonable but they didn't have too many pictures so it was a good thing a Yelper took photos of their restaurant menus - I always have to see pictures of foods I want to order. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did and I love being proven wrong in this case. When I opened the bags and pulled out the containers, I was impressed with how they neatly packaged all the 'sushis' and the cooked foods. The Chicken Teriyaki Don was still hot and very generously portioned. It was ok, nothing memorable that I can comment on. Same goes for the pork gyozas. The Tako Yaki fared much better. The outside was just crispy enough and somehow maintained its crispiness all throughout the meal. The octopus inside was not tough as is the case whenever I ordered it from other restaurants so it was a pleasant surprise! We also ordered Spicy Salmon Sashimi. It was nicely slathered in their spicy and sweet sauce but I found the pieces of salmon a bit small. The Red Dragon Roll had plenty of spicy salmon and just enough creamy avocado to even it out. We also had the Tuna and Salmon sushi combo. We should've eaten these before the spicy rolls as it seemed tasteless and one of the containers of soy sauce we used seemed more salty than the other and kinda ruined the delicate non-spicy rolls. Overall, good experience was had. Will definitely order from Sushi Fu again or maybe even visit them when the pandemic is history. read more

On time and convenient. Good delivery with skip the dishes and work till the close. A few different options for their menu. Not the best gyoza or spring rolls I've ever had but it's generally fine. The sushi roll is quite good though. Even though the spring rolls weren't all too memorable but at least I got it when it's still crispy, since sometimes delivery food becomes soggy. First time here & I had takeout. First thing I notice was how busy it was. There were like 8 delivery guys going in n out while I waited for my food.The lady handing out the deliveries and taking orders should improve her customer and communication skills. I ordered the beef teriyaki, Dynamite Roll, & the Dynamite Dragon Roll. Was impressed with the portion size of the beef Teriyaki. Tasted decent. Could had used more rice tho. Ahhhh the Dynamite Roll. Should every sushi place be judged on their Dynamite Roll ? It was mediocre. There was only 1 prawn inside the roll. & crunchy yam. It's like they substituted the 2nd prawn with crunchy yam bits. I notice these things. This is the second sushi place Ive encountered to do this. Not Good. There should always be at least 2 prawns in a dynamite roll. However the Dynamite Dragon Roll was quite excellent. First time ordering one of these pricey rolls. At 9 dollars it will only once in a while. But you get what you pay for. read more

The sushi is quite good however the negitoro rolls aren't always consistent. Some days they're made right other days they taste like they use tuna. I still would rate them higher but the reason for 3 stars is that they always pressure you to tip when you use the machine to pay. The lady holds the machine up and literally asks if you're going to tip and makes you feel very awkward and uncomfortable. Tips are based on good service, free food (like if they want to give a free miso soup here and there, which they don't) and shouldn't be expected. read more

My staff ordered sushi fu through skip the dishes a month or so back. The pros are that it is cheap and you get large portions. The cons are I found was their food did not appear fresh. The sashimi has a fishy odor and I ended up throwing away my crab sunomono because it smelled foul :S I would give them a chance again because of their great prices, but I think I would only go for the more simple sushi rolls (like a Cali/dynamite/yam tempura) or a lunch box with teriyaki and tempura. read more

Ordered skip the dishes from here. So I dont know how the service is but the food is 2 stars. Its edible, but the chicken in the teriyaki don was dry and they tried to hide it with drenching it in way to much sauce. Always order here for Japanese food. Price is really good! Food is above average. Service was decent. To go food is also decent. Only complaint is their dynamite roll. I am not a fan of putting deep fried yam on the dynamite roll. Also sometimes they give a small prawn tempura. I really like this place! They have the best sushi, chicken teriyaki , tempura and California rolls i have ever tried ! I just got disappointed with the delivery!! They have said 45 min until it arrives on my door! It took almost 2 hours and by then the food was cold ! Furthermore the only reason that the package arrived in 2 hours was because we called the restaurant complaining about the delay so they contact the deliver guy to change his route. Otherwise It would had taken more than 2 Hours !! In conclusion it's an awesome place to eat over there but the delivery is a nightmare ! read more
