First time trying, we only ordered the crazy girl roll via delivery, so this review may not be a fair representation of the establishment Taste 1/1* Although it was a fried California roll, it some how tasted pleasantly fresh...? Value 0/1* For what's basically a fried California roll with cream cheese, $12.36 is pretty expensive imo Speed 1/1* Order was received on time Presentation 1/1* Delivered well, presentation on point, always appreciate being able to eat with eyes first Overall/Revisit 1/1* Yes would revisit to try more dishes Above and beyond? 0/+1*

This little hidden gem was well hidden. For such a small shop, it was really popular. We had arrived around 1PM. Ordered and found that throughout the hour that we were there eating, customers kept coming in. With only 1 waitress at the time, service was obviously a bit lacking. Not going to hold that against them. The food: They have the typical Japanese fare. But they also included a fusion items like Korean fried chicken and fusion arancinis (rice balls). Being a Korean run Japanese restaurant, it was good. It was a bit more expensive then Sushi Town but with quite a extensive menu and variety there was something for everyone. If I was ever in the area I'd go back and try some of their fusion items for sure!

We came to this restaurant per our friend's recommendation. The food prices were very reasonable and food was fine. I had rainbow roll ($9.50) and deep fried rice balls ($5.95). My partner had combination dinner A which came with 2 shrimp tempura, chicken teriyaki yakisoba, and 3 nigiri ( salmon, tuna, ebi), and miso soup ($14.95). The setting was pleasant and comfortable. I find many Japanese restaurants are owned by Korean, and this place as well. They had many varieties of sushi rolls in the menu, but I didn't see much choice of fish. Overall experience with prices, I would say 4 stars :)

Neat little sushi place tucked away in a sleepy neighbourhood in Coquitlam. I'd definitely miss it if I didn't look for it online. Service was prompt and we were seated quickly. Clear menus and easy to make selections. Clear interior that isn't overly cluttered. We ordered a Dinner For 2 combo, and a sleeve of Asahi on special. The food here is very tasty. The salad greens and fish are very fresh, and the chicken udon is flavorful and not overly salty like other places. Portion size was OK, for the price I expected a bit more. I was disappointed with how small the shrimp tempura came out to be. The Asahi on tap was excellent though - unbeatable price for imported Japanese beer. Would be quite interested in coming back.

We probably over ordered a bit. All the rolls are great. Some of the Aburi rice is a bit loose but the flavor is good. I am happy that they have mini udon on the menu. They just implemented a new takeout menu for a quick reasonable lunch if you're in the area. We ordered: Donkatsu $17 Deluxe negiri and beef udon $25 The pork katsu was well seasoned and juicy for such a lean cut of meat. It comes with miso soup, shredded cabbage and rice The sauce wasn't the typical tonkatsu sauce but a more mild version of it. I think it was well priced for the amount of food. The Deluxe nigiri came with 7 different pieces of fish, including squid and ebi. 2 shrimp tempura and a vegetable one. The beef udon broth was flavourful with a soothing mix of dashi and beef. We were very full after all of the food and the service was good. The only negative is probably the parking. Pay parking around the area or maybe park at the mall and walk over. Over all a great meal!

It has more of a casual and homey feel which makes the food even more comforting when consumed. We tried a lot of different dishes, and they are all delicious. Fairly priced. It didn't feel particularly homey or comfortable sitting in to eat. Nothing inherently wrong with it but it just felt dated and not too special. The food itself is good but it's not as well balanced as Saku's flavours. Last time I came here, the rice accompanied by my set meal was soft and borderline mushy, so the consistency is really hit or miss here. The restaurant plays loud music and it isn't the most comfortable place to sit, eat and chat. Overall, it's alright. Price is a bit expensive for what you get (and no unlimited refills on salad, soup or rice (or none that I was ever made aware of)) but it does the job. I prefer Saku to here but it's still a good option to have in this area

The restaurant is spacious and cozy. For each table there is a tablet for ordering. I ordered a Soy Chicken Karaage Donburi as it looked delicious on the menu pics. The rice bowl came with miso soup. The donburi looked good with sufficient portion for a strong man. It was tasty, however as I kept eating the soy chicken karaage got more and more salty. Finally I couldn't have anymore. I finished the rice and it was well cooked. I drank two cups of tea after having the donburi. I didn't try other dishes, perhaps I will give them a try when I come here next time. I do hope the chef could make it less salty. Apart from that, service was fine and the ambient was quiet and tidy.

How lucky are we to have such amazing talent and kind hospitality in a seemingly unassuming plaza…read morehousing an omakase restaurant that refuses to sacrifice quality without having to actually travel to Japan?! An absolute A+ to Chef Keith and Chika for their mastery of perfecting a great omakase experience in the tricities. They are reservations only (and for a good reason!) and this can be done on their new online portal!! by controlling the number of seatings, Chef K and Chika are able to interact and share their craft with patrons in an intimate and personal way. There is no hustle and bustle or fakeness that would otherwise follow some restaurant vibes. There is purely passion for fish, customer service and, of course, metal music! I urge you to dine at the chefs bar and let Chef K tell you his extensive and wonderful background from catering some A list bands, to being on tour, and changing restaurant models all while being fed an amazing feast. The fish is sourced from Japan and screams quality and flavour. He knows exactly what he's doing with all the fish profiles and pairing them with a variety of notes like shiso, yuzu and ginger. Between the 14 unbelievably mouth watering and satisfying dishes, Chef K and Chika's kindness shared the spotlight easily. Humble beginnings have led to an extraordinary and legendary journey for SKK. Some of the special highlights were the blue fin tuna, South American jumbo prawn, Spanish mackerel and the scallops. I cannot wait to bring my omakase/metal loving friends and family here to join in on the greatness because sharing truly is caring and this gem is too awesome to keep to myself!
