Still open for takeouts and delivery, not sure when they open, but they close at 9. Called ahead cause I was craving and had to wait an hour til I could pickup, which is understandable. Great sushi and chicken karaage fix! read more

I ordered from skipthedishes.com and was quoted 33-40min(ordered Chicken Teriyaki, Dynamite Roll, sockeye sashimi and Miso soup$40 after delivery fee). While confirming the order It was stated that the restaurant needed more time (55min). I immediately requested to cancel the order and I got the following: "Because the restaurant has started to prepare your order, we won't be able to issue a refund if you cancel. We can still cancel the order without a refund or you can choose to proceed with delivery. What would you like to do?" So I am going to receive food that was made 55min prior? Most restaurants on skip the dishes enable an immediate cancellation if they extend the delivery times. read more

Friendly staffs and awesome sushi! It is always clean and provides great services!! :)

Food is delicious, sashimi is very fresh and the service is great. I like their Aburi set

The food quality is very good. Their ingredients taste fresh and their presentation is on point. They have a large variety of food to choose from, from sushi to ramen and don, so there's something for everybody. the atmosphere is calm and clean and the staff is very friendly. Overall, a great local sushi joint. read more

Just ate here a couple days ago because I wanted to find a place close to my house and is decently priced. Might be one of my favourites! My boyfriend and I got their before 3 so we made it in time to get a lunch box which was only $16 for a ton of food (gyoza, nigiri, sashimi, a roll, salad, tempura...) and their menu has a ton of items for a smaller sushi joint. We also had the Saba oshi and hamachi oshi which were pretty good! read more

They offer top taste with affordable price. Must go when I'm in Vancouver again! Service is okay because it is very busy. Can't ask for a lot more given the quality of food and price. Hope they keep up. read more

Never got to try the place. The place was half full with ine table that haven't ordered and a few eating and it takes 25 minutes for an assorted sashimi take out. It's just cutting raw fish. They said sorry so I give them 2 star for being nice but minus 3 for terrible business model read more

Seriously outstanding food and service. They serve the best Gyozas I've ever had in my life! Ask for extra crispy and you'll be in for a treat. The Udon is also amazing. I'm vegan and they have just enough options to make it awesome. The Aburi Avocado Nigiri (torched) is unique and a must. Just go for it. PS - service is the most friendly I've seen from sushi places. A big shout out for the waitress Jiyoung and for the younger Chef (I don't know his name). Great charisma! PS 2 - I also seriously have just created this Yelp account to post a review for them. I've been there 5 times already within their first month of opening and they more than deserve a big shout out. Look at my profile pic: they gave me that aburi avo nigiri on the house just because they're awesome! read more

So so good. This is the place for excellent fresh variety. The service is friendly. We always try something new and it never disappoints. Their chicken karaage is the best we have ever had. read more

We used to order from here all the time but they are extremely unorganized. Last time we ordered, they were not even busy but couldn't find our order for about 15 minutes. This time, a simple nigiri order took over an hour even though we ordered an hour in advance. When we arrived, they said it would be "ready in 5 minutes" then made us wait outside in the cold for another 30 minutes because they can't keep up. Not once did they apologize for the multiple delays and when the order was finally ready they just handed it to me without any acknowledgment. I understand if a restaurant is busy, but at least have the courtesy to apologize and thank your customers if you waste their time and make them wait 1.5 hours. read more

This is a great sushi place in burnaby owned by a very kind Korean couple. We had a variety of sushi's and sashimi's as well as aburi combo and oshi combo. Their salmon oshi is to die for. Everything was fresh and delicious. Will definitely return here again. read more

So i went here with my wife and 2 awesome kids as my wife saw good (FAKE) reviews about Sushi MODO. We arrived around lunch time and the place was pretty empty. in years. The waitress gave us look warm water which was sitting on the counter at room temperature for i don't know how long. As well the plastic jug in came in looked like it hasn't been wasted. I asked for an extra bowl for one of my kids and the waitress grabbed it two feet away from my table and put it on the table next to mine. so i just ended up walking the two feet myself and grabbed my own extra bowl. I will be as HONEST as possible and give ratings accordingly: SERVICE:(1 out 5) below average. Did not come by one time to refill our empty cups of previously filled with lukewarm water. PRICE: (1 out 5) whole meal ended up costing $58.00 dollars (no tip for bad service) and we were all so thirsty i had to spend another $10 dollars on drinks somewhere else FOOD: (2 out 5) food was average at best. Not bad and not good but since i was so thirsty afterwards i was not too happy about it. Maybe cause our glasses were not refilled at all during the whole meal. REVIEW: (1 out 5 ) i would have a better experince going to Bunsen Lake and catching my own fish and making my own sushi read more

My new favourite sushi restaurant! Menu has a very good variety of options, every dish we ordered was perfectly made, not only look delicious, also tasted fabulous! It's so good I felt like I was in a five star restaurant in downtown! Server was a pleasant Korean girl, came to check on our table once in between. I really hope this restaurants continues to do well because I will definitely visit often since it's so close to where I live. Finally a great sushi place around the area! It was the best! read more

Definitely best sushi in the area. The acid test for me is the salmon oshi... passed with flying colours. Made a note to come back and try more tempting dishes... I'll need at least three more visits . Also, ambience is cozy and surprisingly cool for a small restaurant in South Burnaby. Not easy to park but definitely worth the hassle. read more

I've never been so frustrated with a takeout. Waited for an hour and half and they forgot to make our order. We waited another 30mins for food only to find out the order was still missing an item. I drove back and asked them and they told to my face that the order is correct. I asked them to count again and they insisted it was right. I had to open the box in front of them and asked them to point each piece for them to find out they were missing one. Waited for 2.5hrs and In and out the store 5 times just for the order. Terrible experience. By the time I ate the food it was all cold. The mentaiko udon was good but wouldn't come back again. read more

Worth the 4.5 stars. Deluxe Sashimi so fresh and tasty. Chicken teriyaki had great sauce and a super variety of vegetables. Enjoyed every bite! Will come again and again. Just what we were looking for! Fine sushi! Week presented and the vibe here is really light and good read more

This was an awesome sushi place. Replaced white rice with brown, no problem. Good service had the hot pot soup with BC roll - delicious. Service was great. read more

Anyone that doesn't give this place a 4 star rating or higher is crazy! I have been here a few times now and it has always been great.. I love to try all the new things here. The prices may seem expensive but once you see your food and taste it.. It doesn't even matter! They present the food so nice you don't even want to eat it and the service is always good. read more

Love this place . Closed to my house , great food !and nice ppl over there

Extremely friendly enviorment, with An established staff to back it up. The food is amazing with the best specials. Definitely my one stop sushi shop. read more

Sushi is just like any other place in the area. Thankfully it tastes fresh but the prices here are a bit high.

This is definitely a good value place with good food and friendly service. I see no reason to go to sushi garden instead of this place. My only advice is the music needs to be changed for a regular customer like me. I am tired of hearing the same CD over and over again, no matter how good that jazzy music was. read more

Read some good reviews on the place so decided to try it out late last year. We ordered a few oshis (saba and scallop) and shared the king aburi combo. Also ordered the miso cod and tuna tataki. All were amazing and I'd definitely come back to try their other oshis if I'm in the area. read more

Love the sashimi sushi bento box! Great value, customer service is awesome! Fish is always fresh.

I was excited to see Vegan Ramen on their menu. It's low calorie and healthy. So I decided to order that. To our surprise, their vegan ramen = instant noodle. We could not believe they actually serve instant noodle in a restaurant! Other items maybe delicious, but thank you for not ordering their vegan ramen and pay a premium restaurant price. Hmm.. should I start a restaurant and serving instant noodle? I might become so rich because such much net profit in it! read more

This was our first and last meal while visiting Vancouver. The food was phenomenal and the service was awesome! Highly recommend!

Very good Sushi place in the area. The staffs are very friendly. Will definitely come back and try more dishes.

Always on the hunt for a new Sushi place near work, and this sushi restaurant was fantastic. Went with a group and everyone really enjoyed their food. Really nice quality sushi and service was also great. Loved their avocado roll! read more

My wife and I visited the place based on Google reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. My wife ordered Sashimi Sushi Bento and I ordered Don Ko Chi Ramen with Aburi Salmon and Aburi Tuna Toro, along with a large sake. All in all, the food was great and the atmosphere was even better. I would definitely come here again. read more

Visited twice, and both times I was pleasantly surprised by the creative flavour pairings. Reasonably priced and service was excellent. Clean environment and pleasant atmosphere. I get the sense that they genuinely care about the food and your overall experience. read more

Checked out this place for lunch with a couple friends. The food was good and the server was friendly but the food came out at different times. One person served then myself awhile after that and the third person waited for a long time after I got my dish. The presentation was great on the final dish but It makes it awkward to eat in front of someone who is waiting for their food. They should have started the prep on the more complicated dish first and timed it better with the other meals. I could see the folks preparing the food and the server while we were eating and they were looking at our table then one would say something then they would have a chuckle. Even though I couldn't tell what they were saying it seemed they were making light of our table which didn't feel that great. Undecided whether I would return or not. read more

My favorite place!!! Good noodles, good sushi, really really fresh sashimi and it's near my house! Good price as well! Highly recommend.

KING ABURI!!!! my must have when I visit B.C it was very busy when i visit here last, and they did mess up our order a few times but the food was good. read more

Great food and service. Their custom rolls are really good. One of the best local sushi places in Burnaby.

My boyfriend and I have been to multiple (a lot) of sushi restaurants around the New Westminster, Edmonds, and Kingsway areas - and this place is one of our new favourites. My boyfriend is from Korea and his sushi standards are high. He was actually satisfied with the sushi combo he received at this restaurant. The fish quality is good and there is a pleasant flavour to the sushi rice. The fried tofu and vegetarian rolls were some of the most enjoyable in the whole area (for me anyway, as I order the same thing at every sushi place.) My favourite part was the service. I find at other places, the service is usually sub-par. Our servers were so friendly and vibrant. They refilled our tea promptly and we were offered a complimentary sample roll. This place was really refreshing and I strongly suggest people check it out for themselves. read more
