On 4/28, I ordered online for food from Susi Kingdom at 148 NJ Rt 73. The hibachi vegetables were mushy, the brown thick sauce had globs of gue - it was disgusting and I could not eat it. The cucumber roll had no cucumber only rice, and the shrimp tempura was 95% fried batter. I threw it all out. Price was $53.74 I see that other people give good reviews, so I don't know why my order was terrible. I have been coming here for more than ten years, we even supported them through COVID, but last night was the last time. We waited a full hour for a plate of sushi. When it finally arrived, half the pieces were incorrect. The quality of the rice was incredibly bad, gluey, sticky and partially raw. The fish was cut into such small slices that they were probably getting 2 to 2 1/2 pieces of nigiri out of one serving of fish. The waitstaff was inattentive and they took forever to pick up the sheets, despite the restaurant being half full. On the way out, I first paid my bill and then I asked to speak to the owner. They told me the owner wouldn't come out and even if he did, he didn't speak English. The restaurant is full of bilingual staff, btw. I get it, I'm not expecting Nobu. What I do expect is reasonably good sushi in a basic environment. What I expect is what we reliably got in the past. It's not there anymore. read more

I was told food would be ready in two minutes, when it took 20 minutes instead.. when I told her i would have appreciated her being honest about the food cook time, she did not offer an apology, but instead had the audacity to say "I don't care". I got the sashimi combo with an assorted amount of sashimi and hot and sour soup for takeout. The variety was great and the pieces tasted fresh. Some pieces were better than others but overall it was good and satisfied my craving for sashimi. The hot and sour soup was a disaster. I understand this is a sushi restaurant but this hot and sour soup was neither hot (spicy) nor sour. The broth was almost clear and it was bland. I was so disappointed by the hot and sour soup that it actually made me enjoy my overall meal less than if I didn't had gotten the soup. Sushi Kingdom will always have a place in my heart. While the service sometimes can be hit or miss, the value you get for the quality, amount of food, and various selections is very good. It is byob which is also At this past visit we went with a group of 7 people (6 adults and 1 child) at 6:00 on a Tuesday. The price was around $28 for adults and $15 for children. We made reservations earlier that day and our table was ready for us when we arrived. The large, round table we were seated at made talking and more importantly eating sushi from the center of the table very easy. The food was great. We enjoyed all of the appetizers and sushi we ordered. Nothing was left out of our orders. Some of the sushi, especially the Nigiri comes with a lot of rice. So my suggestion would be to possibly order sashimi and a bowl of rice on the side so you don't get filled to quickly from the rice. Take this place for what it is.... All you can eat style with takeout available. With the variety of the menu offered in the all you can eat it's definitely a solid deal. You can do basic sushi or specialties. Godzilla roll and the one with banana on (can't remember currently.) are a couple favorites. Appetizers definitely go for the meat skewers or calamari. During my visit in this restaurant, it was a very distasteful experience. I regularly take my family out to this restaurant and usually it isn't this bad. The service was awful and the food was in terrible quality. The sushi had an extensive amount of rice, and it was very dense. In one of my sushi rolls, I found a piece of plastic wrap still clinging on and in the sushi, and one of the udons we were served had the plastic in the soup. This experience was terrible and it felt as if the employees were mindlessly wondering about. When we entered the restaurant, we were not presented with any plates or chopsticks. Normally we would receive menus, however, we had to request for new menus multiple times. We requested for new food, however, the employees accused us of placing the plastic there. We had to have an unnecessary argument with multiple members, as they were screaming at us with false accusations. This restaurant has high disregard for their customers and are incapable of providing sufficient services. Saving my stomach all day for this and I have to say that I really love AYCE. The place isn't the most spacious but it does have lots of seats for but parties and for dates. We were seated quickly and got drinks quick. On a Wednesday for dinner, it wasn't that loud. Food: I will only talk about things that I enjoyed and these were the enjoyable foods. The crispy rock shrimp was good. They were small and they had really great spicy mayo on top. Beef satay was good. I ordered another one my second round just for it. Tako yaki - is really hot when it first comes to you so I would suggest to wait or open it up a little for it to cool down. Sashimi was great. I just kept devouring each sashami. Came here recently to see what all had changed since my last visit; it's been a long few months. Quality is up by a hair, in the essence that sashimi is cut thick and rolls seem to be made with more love during the slower hours. The waitresses took care of everything in decent time. Tables still have plastic covers, but with things relaxing back down, face masks and disposables are a thing of the past. The fish seemed relatively fresher than when I was last here, and considering my group only did sashimi and rolls, everything was fairly balanced and satisfying. I'd always had a problem with too big of rice balls on the nigiri before... Can't say that's any better now, but this remains a way to work around that. Really no issues here, no major complaints, except for the fact that they're surprisingly now more expensive than the nearby competition of Mr. Sushi for the weekend meals -- $29 per person, above by a dollar after the aforementioned restaurant also raised prices similarly. They still haven't updated their website from the original prices of $23-25 to reflect this... Drinks are also $2 each, and bottled, so you can at least take them with you when you leave. For a family of two adults and three pre-teen children, it's a pricey hit of $150. Each time I see this rise though, it's usually a sign that the business is doing poorly and can't keep up with supply costs. To this, I suggest... make child prices $12 per person up to the age of 13; kids barely eat anything. Bring in more families. Make a smaller alternative AYCE lunch menu, to cut past your competition. Advertise additions that people can buy to take home, too. Give out menus. Keep your website fresh. Lessen the focus on costly items, but keep people satisfied. And most importantly - Service with a smile! Your loyal customers will be happy that you've stuck around, and placed thought into their fun nights within your building. We arrived at opening time with a party of 6 and were seated promptly. After ordering, it took us almost an hour to receive our sushi. We only received the apps we ordered during this time. Once we started eating, we noticed how much rice they packed into the rolls. The texture of the rice itself was also so chewy. Honestly, we weren't impressed. It wasn't high quality or anything, but on top of the poor service, it made our experience pretty disappointing. Just keep in mind when you order the sushi that they put soooo much rice in there. This is one of my go-to all you can eat sushi spots. I usually make a reservation, especially if it's a weekend dinner time. When I do make a reservation though, we sometimes end up waiting 15-20+ minutes to be seated after the reservation time. The food is great, but the service is a little slow. They have forgotten to include items that we ordered multiple times in the past, and we've had to ask them to bring over the remaining items. If this was all, this would be 4 stars BUT The service was quite slow. Been here a few times and it's just your usual ayce, but I do enjoy eating a big meal with my friends and family here. I do have to say that the workers here doesn't even try to do the bare minimum as if it's a nuisance to serve you. The last time I came here over a year ago, I waited for an hour to be seated and after I ordered, had to wait another hour for the food to come out. There were no updates whatsoever but I wanted to give them another chance today. We came here was still eating at 8:45. Although their closing time is 9:30, they ignored us from 9pm. We didn't even get a refill of our water nor did they check if we needed anything else until 9:30 and asked us to leave right at 9:30 on the dot. Start was great but the more years passed, the down grade food service, from the quality to the servers are terrible. They will try to stuff you up with carb food like tempura in the photos. However, I came back here for the first time in years and the service was absolutely horrible this time.
