5 Menu Items

Big fan of Asian places just like this one, and I was looking forward to trying them out. I got some items most such shops have...and the comparison was on! The Tuna Roll and Philly Roll? Seemed a little smaller, and a little less flavorful than my other go to places. My impression is that the rice in these rolls is supposed to be seasoned in some way. Maybe they forgot? The spring rolls? A little heavy on the wrapping, which was more chewy than crispy, and light on the filling. And once again, kinda' flavorless. I know these things aren't usually made from scratch in house, but these could have come frozen in a box. Shrimp Tempura? This IS typically scratch made, but the shrimp had an unusually soft, texture, the tempura coating was more foamy than crispy, and each one was very rectangular and squared off at the end...again like some kind of mass produced product. In summary, the food wasn't bad, but was unexciting and unchef-like. I like that they freely give out coupons...but I'd rather spend a few more bucks, and get fresher, tastier Asian items.

Thank you bag!

To our surprise, there seemed to be more boiled onion in the bowl than seafood or even broth. Onion, especially boiled onion, has a very specific and strong taste, and I think when it is used in such a large quantity, it would be considerate to mention it clearly or at least ask the customer if they are okay with it -- especially since some people may have allergies or simply dislike boiled onions. The menu itself does not make things any easier. The descriptions and ingredients are printed in very small text, and the restaurant is quite dark, making it difficult to read exactly what each dish contains. This is especially frustrating with sushi rolls, where customers should be able to clearly see what ingredients are inside each roll before ordering. Under those conditions, it is very easy to overlook an ingredient, particularly one that ends up dominating the flavor of the entire dish. Next, we ordered the shrimp fried rice. Once again, onion was the dominant flavor, except this time it was finely chopped fresh onion. Later, we ordered four different sushi rolls, and somehow even the sushi had a noticeable onion taste. Out of the four rolls, perhaps one tasted reasonably good. The rest were either bland or overwhelmed by the taste of onion. What made the experience even more disappointing was the service. The server was unable to recommend popular dishes or offer any helpful suggestions. When we tried asking the sushi chefs questions, they did not seem to understand us at all. Even the manager's attitude made us feel as though our concerns were an inconvenience rather than legitimate feedback from paying customers. When we mentioned the overwhelming amount of onion, the response was essentially that this is simply their style of preparation and that "next time" we could ask for no onion. The problem is that no one told us beforehand that so many dishes -- including seafood soup, fried rice, and even sushi -- would contain such a significant amount of onion. We were never given the opportunity to say that we didn't want it. I actually like onions, but I certainly did not expect nearly everything I ordered at a Japanese restaurant to taste predominantly of onion. Unfortunately, between the food, the difficult-to-read menu, the lack of helpful guidance from the staff, and the indifferent attitude toward our concerns, this was not the experience we expected or hoped for. And on a slightly humorous note, perhaps the restaurant deserves a second name: "Onion Paradise." At least then customers would know exactly what they are walking into. If boiled onions -- or onions in general, especially in very generous quantities -- are not your thing, you might want to think twice before walking through the door.

Welp... second time here in the last 2 months and its time for a review. This is the best quality…read moresushi and sashimi I have had in YEARS! The service was super friendly and courteous... I am not sure if they have Japanese roots but everyone took the time to make our experience and food phenominal, which is a part of the Japanese culture. The actual fish quality and care in preparation with the little additions of yuzu and other spices on the individual pieces were amazing! It was like every piece was served as omakaze. Also, the chef served the highest quality and cuts of fish. This was a second visit for us. I usually do a review after two visits to judge a location and this place exceeded our first visit... I thought the first visit was a fluke because of how good it was. Now I believe they are actually this good.. The locals that live around here have a plethora of places to go to for sushi (we know because we have been to em all), but this place is the Gold Standard in our opinion. We live about 40 minutes away and made the trip here because of what I remember from our last visit. The ambience is cool with tons of pictures of private parties and fun times people have here. I deff want to have them cater a sushi party for us soon! We went here the first to try some place new by searching Yelp.... However, I saw them pop up on either my Instagram or Youtube feed a couple weeks ago. I know sometimes InstaTube places are a disappointment, but do not be affraid to try here and form your own opinion.

I got a vegetable roll with sweet potato tempura, cream cheese, avocado and a wasabi mayo. It came with 8 large pieces.
