We came upon this place driving home from an event while "looking for food near me" Voted one of the top 50 Chinese Restaurants in the US! Said so in the window. You know if it has a note about reservations on a Chinese Restaurant it must be good! It was early so we were able to be seating @ 5:30 but by 6:15 the place was almost full. Our waitress quickly gave us menus and water was served. Their menu wasn't an American traditional menu, with lamb, tripe, pork belly, intestine, and kidneys but they did serve common proteins also. We ordered fried dumplings and spring rolls while we paroozed the menu for dinner items. They came quick and take the roof off your mouth hot!! We ordered dinner, I had the dry pot style lamb 7 spice level out of 10, my dining partner salt & pepper chicken. My dry pot came quick, hot and so tasty. Waited 10 mins and we both started eating it. No sign of other dish. Couldn't get anyone's attention. Finally after another 5 mins, who looked like the owner asked what was wrong & went to check for missing dish. It arrived 10 mins later on a bed of lettuce No pepper & onion, very bland. I love everything about Han Dynasty! The service is always great and they get the food out super fast no matter what you are getting. The restaurant is small but with plenty of tables . Came on a Sunday around 1PM and it was fairly empty. The shrimp lo mein was pretty good. We asked for a mild spice level... and it was QUITE SPICY. The dry pepper style chicken was extremely good. Very inconsistent. All we ever get is Dan Dan noodles. When the hot scale was 3-10 we got 5 or 6. It keeps changing. now the scale is 6-10. Made the mistake of ordering a 7 based on original scale. Bland. Plus half the time the long noodles are all chopped up. The meat crumbles and scallions are almost nonexistent and on the bottom with takeout so you'll need to dump it into a bowl and mix it up first. They need to stick to a plan. read more

Absolute garbage food. The dishes were cooked in industrial grade soybean oil. The chicken was unrecognizable as any protein. I don't think the chicken was even chicken. Strips of so-called beef tasted like tanned leather in motor oil. Do not eat here, it really is worse than McDonald's. I wanted to check this place out since it was highly recommended to me but I was extremely disappointed. The chicken lomein tasted smoky, Dan Dan noodles were greasy with spice, the eggplant was in a greasy sauce, spring rolls had an off taste, and the dried beef had hardly any meat and was quite pricey. The food and service are both great! Meals are family style which is nice because there are many delicious dishes to choose from. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes. My favorite items are the garlic sauce style (with beef) which is similar to like a pepper steak and the dan dan noodles. We also had the wings which were a special menu item and ended up ordering them 2 more times before the meal was over. Now I know where Nascar Pit Crews go when they retire. The service here was extremely fast and friendly. We were a party of 3 that ordered enough food for 5. Only moments after we completed our order did a flurry of happy waitstaff arrive with portions of our order. I'm giving this location 4 stars and not 5 only because the Wonton Soup Broth was lacking any flavor, we are frequent diners at the Old City location and everything we ordered here was on par with Old City, with the exception of the Wonton Broth. While Old City also has fast and friendly service, this location was superior in that category along with easy and free parking. We will be going back very soon, and we will be ordering the Wonton Soup, I'm hoping the lack of flavor of the broth was a fluke. We went there for lunch since my husband has a huge craving for the Dan Dan noodles. He has such a high hopes talking about how great it was before like two decades ago and wanted to eat it again. We usually go to the university location and did not fail. However at this location is like a step back into the past on how Chinese restaurant were in the 80s. The Dan Dan noodles was a huge disappointment. The noodles were borderline soggy and the sauce were pretty bad so he didn't eat it and had to order from chef Zhang at Marlton to make up for the craving. No need to make a reservation I guess. And what's worse is the women who took my reservation ALSO sat us after saying she would make a note for our back table. Decided to come back while my brother in law was back in town since this is one of his favorite spots. Haven't been here since pre-Covid but I'm glad to say the quality hasn't changed We got the garlic style lamb and hot sauce style shrimp. The portions were big enough for left overs and the flavors were as bold as ever. The hot sauce style shrimp had just enough spice to give you a good sweat but not enough to be off putting. I especially liked the cabbage it was nice and tender. The garlic style lamb was also cooked really well and had really good garlic flavor. We also got Dan Dan noodles and scallion pancake. The Dan Dan noodles is almost a meal in itself and every noodle is coated in sauce after you mix it up. Definitely need to come back here more often read more

I absolutely love this place! I've been a regular since 2017, and it's hands down the best Szechuan cuisine I've ever tasted. The Dan Dan Noodles are so addictive! I'm so familiar with their menu that I don't even need to glance at it anymore. My favorite dishes include the dry pepper fish or chicken, double cooked style fish, dry pot fish, three cup chicken, and garlic pea leaves. The staff, like Hat and Keith, are fantastic! When Mark was managing, he would sometimes treat us to free wings because my wife and I dine here almost every week. I highly recommend this restaurant--you won't regret it! read more

Tonight I was trying to satisfy my craving for dan dan noodles and spicy Szechuan cold noodles. When looking up Szechuan style food, I landed on Han Dynasty, which I had never tried here in Cherry Hill before. I ordered the dan dan noodles and spicy chili noodles and picked them up from the restaurant. I was so hyped to eat these noodles because of a great experience I had over in LA with cold spicy noodles, but unfortunately, these noodles did not hit the spot and I was left feeling very underwhelmed. For noodles that were supposed to have chili oil, it barely packed a punch. I was really looking forward to a spicy and numbing (mala) flavor, but that just was not there. As for the dan dan noodles, they were yummy! If you are thinking of heading to a Han Dynasty, I recommend either the University City or Old City locations. The ambiance at these two locations coupled with the food pair up perfectly. For the little time I was at this location at Cherry Hill, the ambiance seemed dull and the lighting was very harsh. Not too sure how this contributes to when sitting down or in the group setting. With all that said, this will not be my final call on Han Dynasty, because I only tried two of their noodles dishes and none of their other dishes. I'm eyeing that dry pepper chicken though! My mom and I went here on a Sunday night and had a good dinner. The dan dan noodles were delicious-- tasted very nutty and creamy. We also got the wontons in chili oil as an appetizer which was very flavorful, full of garlic and the perfect amount of spice. For our entrees we got the scallion chicken and the spicy garlic chicken. The spicy garlic chicken had a thicker sauce and was much more flavorful than the scallion chicken. The service was fine but not overly attentive other than to take our orders and give us our check. I'll return for the dan dan noodles and the spicy garlic chicken. read more
