I was originally headed to Mikado, but since they were closed on Monday... best thing that could've happened. I drove six minutes farther and stumbled into an absolute hidden gem with U Sushi. I was the only one there for lunch, which honestly makes no sense after experiencing the food. They seriously need to push their lunch more, because I'd drive 30 minutes for this without thinking twice. I ordered the sashimi lunch special--check the photo. Anywhere else, this portion and quality is easily a $25+ plate, I paid $14.95. Fresh, generous cuts, and it even came out with a cool smoky presentation that made it feel way more high-end than a typical lunch spot. I added soup and salad for an extra dollar (no-brainer). Miso was solid, but that ginger dressing on the salad? Unreal. Also got the soft shell crab appetizer, and it tasted like it was straight-up fresh, lightly fried, and done perfectly. Not what I expected--in the best way possible. The quality here is top-tier across the board. I literally doubled my bill for the tip because it felt like I was getting away with robbery. 1000% recommend. Don't even think twice--just go. And if you're coming for dinner, bring a bottle... it's BYOB. read more

I placed an online order here today and the food was ready in less than 20 minutes. There online system allowed you to order and pay at time of pickup. When I got inside the sushi was already ready prior to the pickup time! I had tipped already online and they printed out another receipt asking if I wanted to tip again, which I found odd. I ordered the 2 roll lunch special, which was very cheap, only $10. I ordered the Boston roll and the crunchy shrimp roll. The lunch special also came with a soup or salad, and I had the salad. The salad was rinsed and dripping wet, they didn't spin it to dry before putting it in the container. The seafood quality did not seem to be very good. The rolls were also very salty. I would go back again and maybe try different rolls or items on the menu in the future. read more

The sushi was good not great. The service was not that great. I called my order in for pick up. They told me 45 minutes showed up about 50 minutes. Had to wait for our order. Watched them make it about 10 minutes into my wait not sure what they were doing but it didn't make sense. The place only had a couple of people in it so they were not slammed with orders. read more

This was my 2nd visit to usushi (my first visit was a few days after opening and it was hectic and packed). The experience was more laid back, relaxing, and enjoyable. Our waitress stopped by the table often to check up on us. She was super sweet and accommodating, and never once seemed to rush us. Our sushi was fresh. The presentation was beautiful. The portions were big and the prices were reasonable. The high quality of the fish was very noticeable. We also ordered edamame and Beef Negimaki. Sushi wise we had eel, red snapper, and yellowtail nigiri. We ordered 2 rolls: rock n roll and spicy crunchy tuna roll (they were very similar). We also ordered 2 specialty rolls: usushi roll and Naruto roll (these two were the highlight of dinner). Colorful, looked great on the plate, and most importantly tasted great. Ok place. Giving three stars since they're new and maybe need time to work out the menu. A couple things... 1. The "Thai crispy squid" appetizer is really just Italian style frozen calamari. The only thing "Thai" about it is it's served with a small cup of sweet chili sauce. It's okay, but it's not what the menu would suggest. I worked in restaurants for 20 years so I get that occasionally you buy things frozen from your wholesaler and jazz them up a bit but this wasn't really jazzed up at all. 2. The lunch box, even though the menu says it comes with soup AND salad, our waitress told us it was soup OR salad. This is not really a big deal but either the waitress is wrong or the menu is wrong. For what it's worth, every other restaurant in the area that offers bento boxes offers them with both, so for their sake I hope they do that. Overall the food was okay. Nothing exciting. It's very conveniently located for us, but the experience overall wasn't enough to make me really want to go back when there are other Asian restaurants a little further away that we've had better experiences at. They're new though, and hopefully they make some changes and improve over time. I wouldn't rule out giving it another shot a few months down the line. read more

We came here on a Friday night looking to try a new sushi restaurant. The restaurant was busy but my fiancé and I were able to be seated pretty quickly. Unfortunately, although we were quickly seated the overall service was extremely slow. Additionally, understandably the restaurant isn't super big but we were seated in the back, right next to a large party that sat so close we felt like we were part of their table. When it came to ordering, the waitress took our order and brought out waters, but the food took almost an hour to come out. By the time the food came, we ate the sushi in probably ten minutes since we were so hungry from waiting. The sushi is pretty good, nothing phenomenal, but decent. My one complaint is that one of the rolls we got has spicy crunchy salmon and most of it was the filling, skimping out on the salmon. As we got our check, we flagged down the waitress to take our card so we didn't have to wait anymore because at this point we were pretty ready to leave. Overall, the service could be improved and the proximity of the tables was not our preference. Would probably consider take out options if I was craving sushi. read more

I went to uSushi the first week they were open and it was not great. The staff was friendly and the service was good considering how busy the place was. The food, however, ranged from ok to terrible. I don't know who built the menu but it is clear they have chosen quantity over quality. It doesn't take a degree in hospitality management to know that 33 appetizers is way too many for an operation that size. They offer 30 special rolls and there is quite a lot of overlap between them. We tried the Thai Crispy Squid appetizer, which turned out to be frozen calamari with Italian breading served with chili sauce. Like they chose the cheapest frozen squid product Sysco offered and didn't care that it contained Parmesan and dried oregano. I hope they cut their menu down to something manageable, focus on quality, and do well because I was really looking forward to having a sushi place nearby. I will give them a few months to iron out the wrinkles and try again before writing them off completely. read more

Ehhh... it was mediocre at best. The sushi was very dull tasting. It was lacking flavor and the texture of the eel in the dragon roll was over cooked and slightly hard. I am a sushi chef part time and can say the quality overall was very lacking. Every roll I picked up fell apart. The rice was either not sticky enough or not rolled tight enough. Might I add that this was my anniversary dinner n we got takeout, for 2 rolls, king crab California , dragon roll and mango chicken it costed us 50$ !!! Literally insane pricing. I can go literally anywhere else and get twice that amount of sushi for that price. If the prices are going to be so high the quality should be too just saying. read more
