Such a gem of a spot! The ambiance was super cozy and clean--perfect for a chill meal or even a cute date night. The prices? Surprisingly great for the quality you're getting. But the real standout? The food presentation. Like... absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Almost too pretty to eat (but obviously, I still did). Definitely coming back read more

This sushi restaurant is my go-to spot if I want sushi and if I have sushi cravings. I got the lunch menu and I think the amount I paid was decent for the amount of food I got. I got the three sushi choices, a chicken katsu bento box, a beef teriyaki bento box, and chicken yakisoba. Everything tasted good and I think the amount of food I got in the bento box was worth it. The only thing I would not get will be the yakisoba. There was not enough sauce and it was very bland. read more

Got take out from here on a Friday night. Food came fairly fast so was still good temperature. All of the sushi rolls were very good. Shrimp fried rice lacked flavor and shrimp. Crab Ragoons were eh. Kani salad was spicy but very good. read more

Sumo Sushi is for the sushi snobs of Cinnaminson. Not only is there a great variety of options, the fish itself is very fresh. There are so many options, we are still determining which are our favorites. One thing is for sure, the homemade iced tea is unreal! You can choose from peach, Passionfruit, or mango- and let me tell you, they're ALL delicious! Every sip is worth every penny. While we typically do takeout, the restaurant is super cute and clean. The staff is very attentive and kind. We will continue to return for our usual sushi Sundays. read more

I wanted some Sushi and found this place that would deliver to my work. I ordered their 3 roll lunch special and kani salad. There is pleanty to choose from for the 3 rolls plus it comes with soup. Everything was delicious. I thought the rolls were a bit small but for the price it was okay. The driver was very friendly and I paid for everything including tip over the phone. This place will be a staple for me at work and I also want to try it in person. read more

needed sushi delivered for a girls night so i ordered about 8 basic rolls and came to about $56 after tax and tip i'm a sushi snob so i will have to say it's definitely not the best sushi/quality by any means but hey it's cinnaminson what do you expect! for south jersey it wasn't bad at all and i requested to put it on a big party platter. the only things i didnt like was that the tuna was all mashed up - i hate that. i like it when it's big whole pieces of tuna. i also didnt like that the spicy shrimp roll, theres more tempura flakes in the sushi roll than the actual shrimp other than that, quick delivery, accurate order and nice service! read more

A friend and I can on a Thursday night, and it wasn't busy, but steady. The onion soup was good and warmed me up.. I tried spicy Kani salad for the first time and it's delicious if you like spicey. The fantasy roll was good, and it was wrapped in something yellow. It was (as the menu stated) oversized. I ordered that and another small basic roll on top of the clear soup and it was very filling. I liked this place. Fair prices and good sushi. read more

Food is always good lots of options, recently stop in for lunch the place has a great lunch special three Sushi rolls for $12.00 comes with soup or salad. Service is great and fast for a quick lunch if working and have limited time. Ambiance is great for a Chinese or Japanese type dishes. Shrimp fried rice is out of this world with large fresh shrimp added to the mix and all items are priced fairly. read more

Probably the place we order from most in the area. Our go-to order is the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box. The food is almost always well-prepared, with the exception of one or two times when the brown rice was old and gummy. It comes with miso soup (always good), a side salad, California rolls, shumai, and salmon with peppers, onions, carrots and broccoli. They do their own food deliveries, and it always comes sooner than promised. The restaurant is cute inside, but we usually take our food home to eat. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Cinnaminson area. read more

Ok so I asked my hubby to get dinner on his way home. We agreed on sushi. He randomly stopped here. We've never tried it. It was good. We had the Love Boat sushi special for 2. The fish was amazingly fresh. The miso soup was delicious. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was that it came with a California roll and fake crab on a shrimp tempura roll. Its clear on the menu, which I didn't look at, so not their problem. It's more of a personal preference. I would like to try other items on their menu. read more

I was looking for a take out place to feed a 5 and 7 year old and decided to give this place a shot. I now judge Asian restaurants based on how well they cook the rice because I've been to two reputable places and the rice was over cooked and mushy, but it had the perfect texture here. My nieces each got a hibachi bento box (beef/ shrimp) while I ordered the shrimp Thai red curry. They both devoured their meals as they expressed how delicious it was. The red coconut curry was savory with a little bit of a kick. I was impressed with their set up for contactless pick up. There was a window for staff, then a pass through and another window for customers to access. I will definitely be back to try out their sushi. read more

Always great fresh food! Been going here for years! The specialty rolls are always amazing and the prices are modest.

Order a large amount of food for my daughter's birthday. It was delicious, the sushi platters beautifully presented, the hot food insulated with cardboard inserts to keep it hot (which worked, as it sat about 35 minutes upon arrival home). Ordered in the morning for 6:30 pickup. Arrived at 6:25 and they were working on the hot items which were ready by 6:40. Well done and will order again! read more

Honestly, I loved this place. If you asked me for a good sushi place a week ago near here I would have 100% told you to go here, but after today I'll never order again. I have ordered 13x this year through this app. Probably more if you throw in phone orders. I always order a New York roll and a Philly roll. Both have avocado. Today the avocado wasn't ripe enough and you couldn't eat it. I called grub hub, no issue at all. Then the restaurant called me. I answered figuring they had quality questions. They said they knew I ordered all the time and then the manager got on the phone said the avocado was fine at the restaurant and that I was lying. She said that she had a delivery driver in the area and wanted to come pick it back up. The food was already in the trash, but I said fine because what else do I say? They did pick it up too. 13x that I ordered the same thing. 12x with no issue. I've had ice tea spilled all over the bag, fried ice cream leak, no complaints just dealt bc I ordered a weird thing to deliver. Today I wasn't going to eat the thing that they actually are known for and when requesting they make it right I was insulted. I've never experience such poor customer service. I ordered more than once every other week and they've lost me as a customer. The sushi is decent, I've had better, I've had worse, but it is definitely not worth being insulted or questioned. Go to Tokyo Blue get a decent roll and better service. read more

Never ordering from this sh*t hole again. I go and pick up my order they give me my stuff and i leave. 10 mins later after i get home they call me and say "YOU TOOK WRONG ORDER YOU NEED TO COME BACK" First of all, i didn't TAKE the wrong order, you GAVE me the wrong order. Then the guy had the nerve to ask me how long it's going to take me to get back to the store. Once i get there, he says to the guy that was waiting for his order (the one i was given) "here you go sir" and didn't even offer to remake it. which is disgusting because it's SUSHI and it should be re made. After i came all the way back here, the guy tells me i now owe $8 extra. After i refuse and explain to him why im refusing, he cuts me off and shews me away and tells me to just leave. He never apologized, never took accountability and he never offered to re make my food. Once i finally got home, the food was poorly made and put together. So disgusted with this place and their staff. read more

Best sushi! Best seafood pot stickers! Pro tip: read grub hub reviews. They tell you what they ordered. And you'll find some sushi that always scores 4+ stars. Their sushi is BUSTING with flavors. They give you the usual: ginger slivers, wasabi. but they also give you chopsticks which is cool. I realize you can't really go wrong with sushi. But this place offers all kinds of custom options, too. "Their own" which, to me, means that they have food game down pat. oh and I think the one star reviews are from picky people :( read more

We've eaten here many times, both dining in before covid-19, and having gotten take-out over the years. The food has been consistently very good. Until yesterday. You can no longer dine-in due to covid, so this was take-out. I have had spicy tuna, salmon, or yellowtail rolls many times in my life before yesterday, so I know what they are supposed to taste like. These were gritty with a heavy mayonnaise taste, overly spicy, and since they were minced beyond recognition, you can't tell if there is even fish in the blend. There was no discernable taste of any fish in any of the rolls; they simply were disgusting. It's like they ran out of fish and slapped together breadcrumbs, mayo, and red pepper paste, rolled it into a ball and made sushi out of it. Totally gross. Other stuff we ordered tasted okay, but whatever these rolls were, they positively weren't what the used to be or were supposed to be. Blech! read more

Three of us came here really hungry. F wanted all-you-can-eat, but alas they don't offer that. No matter, we ordered various rolls and hot tea. Everything tasted fresh and was well made. The decor is dark, modern and clean. The service was very prompt and friendly. At noon Sumo was pretty empty, but more people arrived as we were leaving. This is a nice, serviceable, local sushi place. PS They made a delicious coffee frappe for us to go. read more

Located in the. ShopRite mall next to sketchers. First impression. Clean, from another era/life (perhaps a Chinese restaurant. Certainly the furniture), sticky menus. Smell of old oil and water damp closet. Fried squid bought in as a frozen product and fried. Tough. Sashimi was inferior and had little taste. Almost as if it had been washed to prolong its life. We won't be back. read more

The sushi is good and tastes fresh. I've eaten here a few times and have never left a review but I came in recently for a take out order. Sometimes you're just craving sushi and this is a good place to stop in. It was a Thursday afternoon so they weren't too busy but I called ahead anyway so I could be in and out. I was only a few minutes away but it was ready when I got there. Not sure of her name but the woman who answered the phone and had the same voice of the woman who took my card when I got there, safe to assume same person, was kind of rude. That's where they lost a star with me. She was very short with her words on the phone, seemed to not really care to be on the phone, and when I got there...it was the same thing, she pretty much took the card, swiped it and gave me the receipt to sign with less than 2 words spoken. Maybe it was a bad day for her. Anyway, the sushi is still good. I also had steamed seafood gyoza. Wanted shrimp shumai which on the phone I was told they don't do but I saw it on the menu afterward. The rolls are good size. I got a spicy tuna and a salmon avocado. I would definitely stop in here if I'm in the shopping center where it is located...usually end up working an appetite. read more

Long story short: will not return. Longer story: My fiancé and I ordered $100 worth of sushi online from their sushi section and drove 27 minutes to pick it up. On each vegetarian roll I made a note to separate it from the fish. Go to pick it up and they gave us pork dumplings instead of vegetable so they fixed it. We drive another 27 minutes home and realize they forgot our salmon skin salad and did not separate any of the sushi. There is also roe on a vegetarian roll. We try to call but it gives us a "phone not connected" noise. We drive another 27 minutes back to the restaurant so they can fix the problem. Get to the restaurant and one woman was very apologetic. They recooked the dumplings since they were cold and separated all the vegetarian rolls. Another woman then came over insisting we should not order a party platter if we want items separated. We explain we did not order a party platter and made notes to separate vegetarian items. We wait for the food to be made again and drive another 27 minutes home. It's taken us about 2.5 hours to get the sushi we ordered. They should have remade every single item we ordered. I can't recommend this place. There are a few closer but we returned to this restaurant out of tradition. Sorry to say that's over. Will. Ever return. read more

Long story short... only use this place as a last resort. I've eaten here multiple times during the week when the place is empty. During those times the service is ok at best. However on a weekend night, the staff is so poorly coordinated and inattentive that the service is awful!! How is it possible to have half a dozen staff members behind the counter and yet have to wait over 15 minutes to place a to go order?! The food isn't outstanding and things are a bit on the pricier side. However I was overlooking those things for the sake of convenience but now this frustrating lack of customer service. Yeah like I said I won't be coming back. read more

I get it... every food service business is suffering. We are supporting local businesses as much as possible including giving plenty of slack. But there is no excuse for immature service. It's covid season so, this location has takeout only. We ordered online and ignored the unrealistic "15 minute" pickup time frame. We arrived 30 minutes after placing order online. We waited another 20 more minutes in queue outside in the cold before getting to makeshift pickup window at the building entrance. When we got to window we were told "it should only be another 5 minutes. It's being finished up now.". So, 50 minutes in and they hadn't finished our order. Ok. They're busy. It won't be long now. We waited to the side and proceeded to watch 8 other orders picked-up AFTER we got there. Some orders were made at the window - NOT pre-ordered. 65 minutes in, I greeted them at the door where they were handing out completed orders and said "Excuse me. Do you have an order for Chris?" Staff response, "I can check". I position myself in clear sight at the door. Every subsequent order is handed out with me in view. 20 more minutes go by... no followup, no glance in my direction. I again meet them at the delivery door with credit card in hand to request refund. The very next delivery...? You guessed it, mine. I say "You're lucky. I was just about to ask for a refund." Staff response...? Nada. They turned away without as much as a "Sorry". This was their opportunity to address a bad customer experience but they could not or would not step-up. How should this incident have been handled? When I asked if they had my order they should have gotten the answer to my question, returned to me, apologized for forgetting to fill the order, informed me they were making it now and how much longer it may take. Then, repeat the apology upon delivery. The staff working the window were no slouches. They were clearly working their butts off. This does not excuse them from being professional and empathetic. Total time: 1 hour 35 minutes. 40 minutes outside in the cold Bad form, Sumo Sushi. The food was just short of ok. Small rolls. Odd flavor to miso soup. Crispy salmon skin salad was good but very inconsistently seasoned. One bite little spice. They next, very spicy looking for a palette cleansing. read more

I stopped in today to get takeout for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to see that nearly every table was full. My previous times here have been later, closer to dinner and there never seemed to be much business. I guess the word is out, though.Sumo has some of the best sushi around and for a pretty decent price too. The girl behind the counter greeted me immediately. She seemed to be the only waitress for all the whole restaurant, but didn't appear frazzled by this. She seemed to be able to take of all the guests well enough. There's a little seating area next to where you pay with magazines to read while you wait. I really liked this as I hadn't brought a book with me. After ordering I caught up on some celebrity news, and only waited about 10-15 minutes for my food. I am not very adventurous when it comes to sushi. I tend to get the same thing no matter where I go. I got the Happy Lunch special which gets you three rolls for $10.95. I got the spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, and sweet potato. Of the 3, the spicy shrimp was my favorite. Both spicy rolls had a cumulative heat factor, getting a bit more spicy as I kept eating. I also tried the pork Gyoza appetizer which was amazing. For this massive amount of food I paid $17. I probably won't have to eat again for the rest of day now. Good service, good food, decent price. I'll definitely be back. read more

Ordered lunch from here with some colleagues and was pleasantly surprised... I'm very picky about my sushi so I figured I'd pick something you couldn't go wrong with - like Salmon Teriyaki. I failed to recognize that it was a bento box. More than I was expecting! Soup, salad, rice, salmon AND California rolls. It was tasty. And I felt like it was a great value for all that I received. We frequent Sumo as our go to for sushi. Everything is always delicious, ready when promised (for take out), with great service!

Usually no problem picking up food, but had to wait in the biting wind for about 20 minutes past the 30 minutes that they said it would take. Meanwhile, people were picking up their food right away. This is the best sushi option around this area. The food is fresh, always prepared nicely and in a timely manner, and the service has been good every time I've been there. Ordering online and picking up was even more convenient. Being the best in the area doesn't mean it's the best sushi ever, though, so I've definitely had better. This place makes up for it in ambiance and paying attention to detail if you're dining in (such as bringing over fruit while processing your check). It's plenty spacious, too, so you can bring in a nice sized family without feeling crowded or rushed because they can continue to seat others at a distance away from your group. And they have non-sushi options such as hibachi and teriyaki choices, so most people seem to be able to find something from here, even if sushi isn't their cup of tea. read more

I have been going here for a while and have never had an issue. I called and ordered a shrimp tempura roll without avocado. She read my order back twice. I get back to work and there's avocado. I called Sumo and they told me to drive back with the messed up roll. Instead of apologizing for their mistake, and having me bring back the incorrect order, the person at the window was rude. They told me i can have my money back or a new roll. No apology or anything. I've been to many places to eat and when a restaurant makes a mistake, they do their beat to rectify the situation. The manager/chef was rude as well and refused to come speak to me. They've fallen off, it's really a shame. read more
