Always amazing, still amazing. The kids got to feed the fish and house some edamame, shrimp shumai, ikura sashimi, and pink lady rolls. My wife and I did dome damage on the rest of the rolls. Great staff, great food, it's our go-to local sushi spot. If you haven't been you should go. You can do sushi/full menu in front or back. We have been to Akira frequently over the years and it is consistently good! I love the koi pond they have in the restaurant! The employees are so friendly and efficient! We went in today for lunch and both got the lunch special of 2 rolls for $13. I had the shrimp avocado roll and Philadelphia roll. Both of them had extremely fresh ingredients and tasted great! The lunch special also comes with a soup or salad. I had the salad and my fiancée had the miso soup, both are a nice starter. We really enjoy Akira sushi and will be back again soon! read more

We went here for a friend's 32nd birthday last week. They were able to accommodate all 17 of us around a hibachi table. When I tell you that the service was QUICK and EFFICIENT, I mean it. Usually hibachi is a long drawn out process. Not here. Those of us who ordered appetizers received them in 5-10 minutes or less. We had to cooks prepare the hibachi. They knocked out the food within 20 minutes- even for a large group of people! The food itself was incredible. The fried rice was to die for- had a buttery taste to it that just enhanced the flavor. My steak was prepared as ordered. Since it was my friends birthday, they not only sang happy birthday, but had a gong going as well. Overall, this was a great, lively experience. Got a tray of sushi for take out and everything was delicious. Everything tasted fresh. The sushi is reasonably priced. Outdoor seating is available. The boss is very nice! This was my first time here, but I'll surely be back. The restaurant is cute and has a bit fancier decor. A great date spot. Service was great and they were very friendly. They also kept the table clean by removing old plates as we ate. The food came out fast! Prices were a bit high. The miso soup was only $3, but for beef fried rice it was $16 which was quite high. However, the food was excellent. The shrimp tempura roll was the best I have ever had! It had a nice crunch on the outside of the shrimp, more so than other places I've gotten this type of roll from. The king crab roll had delicious crab inside - real crab not imitation. However there was nothing else in the roll so it was a bit boring, but still tasty nonetheless. I wanted hibachi and this place doesn't disappoint. I ordered yuzu tuna for the appetizer and it was very delicious. The perfect balance of tuna, avocado, and black tobikko. Also I got toro, sweet shrimp, and salmon for sushi and sashimi. They were also very good for the price. As for hibachi, I got beef and scallop. The meal also comes with fried rice and vegetables. The meat and the vegetables were well seasoned. The food came out at a reasonable time and I enjoyed the food very much. I will come back again! read more

Went out for a nice Thursday night dinner. Hibachi was good. We ordered Sesame chicken, an off the menu item, and it was delicious.

This was a difficult review to write. Service was good. California roll was outstanding and very fresh. The hibachi veggies were very fresh. The steak was delicious. The fried rice was gross. The soup had no flavor and the salad dressing wasn't good. So half of the meal I would give a 5 and the other a 2. But I really need to find a hibachi with good fried rice. read more

Akira has the best sushi! Everything was fresh and portions were generous. Little pricey but you get what you pay for. My family and I enjoyed our dinner and will certainly return. Perfect place for families , it's intimate while not being quiet. We got the chicken , shrimp and filet mignon hibachi lunch .The customer service was amazing. As we were getting ready to leave ,my 3 year old was overheard saying "Happy Birthday Daddy." And the bus boy arranged for them to sing happy birthday and brought me a dessert. Wife and I are intolerant to gluten. Ordered GF lo mien. Took it home, had gluten free sticker on the box. Started eating it but tasted different than we know. Called and found out that they gave us gluten, despite the gluten free sticker. We're lucky we don't react as strongly as others but it's dangerous. We go for sushi at least once a month. Recently had a hibachi party (14 people, 4 were kids under 12). It was AMAZING. Watching the kids' faces and reactions was pure happiness. Really good spot for hibachi. I haven't had sushi there but it looked very good. There is a sushi bar in the front and hibachi in the back. Located in downtown Moorestown, it's very accessible to neighboring towns and there is parking in the back, so you don't have to worry about street parking. Now they still offer takeout and delivery, and you can pay over the phone to limit contact. All of the workers wear masks when preparing your food.
