He treated us like VIPs despite the restaurant being pretty packed. Teiara was our server and she flawlessly juggled all of her tables while still giving us literally five star service. I'm determined to try every sushi place in the Phoenix area and with Sushi Brokers having a happy hour and a reverse happy hour how could I pass them up? A spacious restaurant, that was pretty empty for the lunch time happy hour, I decided to sit at the bar. They have a good assortment of sushi rolls, appetizers and discounts for alcoholic drinks available for happy hour. Since I shared lunch with another, I got to share apps and sushi rolls, no drinks this time around. For appetizers, Vegetable Tempura and Calamari and for rolls we got the Spicy Tuna (my go-to) and a Crunchy Roll. Vegetable Tempura- thick, crispy battered vegetables (sweet potato, zucchini, mushroom and broccoli) Calamari- tender rings of squid, lightly battered and seasoned served with a Buffalo Wing type dipping sauce. I thought the dipping sauce was very zesty and tangy and would've preferred something else. Spicy Tuna- typical, 8 pieces to this roll and good tasting Tuna with a balance of heat and warm flavor of sesame oil. Crunchy Roll- Tempura shrimp with imitation crab meat, topped with avocado and unagi (eel) sauce. I thought this roll was a bit too mushy or wet in texture. The mouth feel was too soft for my liking. I don't know how this roll cost way more than the Spicy Tuna as it wasn't as good. Service was kind of lacking/awkward, as we were welcomed from one server who told us to let him know when we were ready who later disappeared for 15 min, from ordering from the sushi chef behind the bar and had another server take care of our checks and water, but good quality food none the less for the price paid. For starters, food was great and staff was super friendly. But other than that, it did not feel like the restaurant or servers were following proper COVID protocol. Didn't feel like there was any proper training in place as the host tried to seat a table practically one foot away from us and it was super uncomfortable as us and the people being sat felt it was way too close. It doesn't feel like they're taking the necessary precautions to space out tables as they had parties sitting back to back and no spacing was enforced at the bar. Also the door to the bathroom had a bunch of dirty handprints on it showing it hadn't been sanitized in a while. Overall, didn't feel safe COVID wise at ALL. Tried Sushi Brokers during the state stay at home order through delivery on a day I was really craving sushi and it hit the spot. I got the spicy tuna roll and the cowgirl roll. The cowgirl roll is spicy yellowtail, cucumber, topped with tuna, spicy mayo, and sriracha. The sauce was packaged separately and I was really glad they did that. I did not end up adding the sauce to my sushi but it was very good without them so I was happy with my decision. The sushi was good and fresh but the portions were small for the price. read more

I am low carb, so I order the 12 piece sashimi platter, then a one ama-ebi, where I only eat the shrimp on it, but I do cheat and eat those fried heads! lmao I can't help it. I also love Ikura with raw quail egg. I have never had a bad piece of any sushi, and let's face it.. I pick a a bit unusual stuff. I recommend Sushi Brokers for the quality of the fish. My first night in Phoenix on business and I was definitely looking for a spot for sushi. Hoping to find something decent, I found this place relatively close to where I was staying. As I walked in the lady's at the door greeted me and offered me a location to have a seat. Of course being by myself, I sat at the bar and made myself comfortable. I sat there for a minute looking over the menu and several items drew my attention as I don't get them at home. My first choice was the yellow tail, which came in 5 slices. Great quality of fish. Excellent cuts and cabbage/ginger/wasabi to go with it. I was thrilled with this so I continued on with more items on the menu. My second choice was the squid. Two delicious and well made squid rolls. I can't remember the last time exactly when I had something as delicious as this one. My third choice, which I was skeptical at the time, was the surf n turf. This my last entree and I have to say that this by far was my favorite for the night. Thin sliced meat on a spin off of a California roll basically, but the toppings had me enjoying it that much more. The mushrooms very tender. The onions sautéed just like I love them, soft but with a slight crunch to them. The ponzu sauce was perfectly drizzled on top in concurrent with a slightly spicy sauce which has escaped my memory. All of this consumed with my go to drink wherever I go (Amoretto sour). I really should have tried the sake but I think I'll do that next time. Anyways, I decided to over indulge and go for dessert. Their brownie sundae was definitely past my point but well work the push. I can say with my experience their and the atmosphere of people as well as employees, this is a spot I'll definitely add to my list of "go-to's" whenever I come back in town. This is my favorite sushi place in all of Scottsdale! The happy hour is a great value & the food is quality. I'm personally a big fan of their specialty rolls. You have to try The Surfer! I also love the Cowboy/Cowgirl & spicy tuna rolls. My happy hour sushi wouldn't be the same without my garlic edamame. Our server tonight was so sweet! It's been awhile since my last review and I thought it was time to update. Years ago, my review here was 5 stars, then service and quality tanked for awhile and I left a rare 1 star review. At the time, management reached out and we decided to go back. We've ordered several times since then and I'm happy to say we've been satisfied with the results. I'm still extremely specific with takeout orders and they usually get it right. One time they accidentally gave us our food plus someone else's, but that was ok - lol. Went to Sushi Brokers for the first time today. We had some nigiri which was delicious - buttery and fall-apart-in-your-mouth good. We also split the Del Sol (my favorite roll - it almost has a light dill flavor), Surfer (probably the best quantity for your dollar at the restaurant), and the Chimichanga (too much sauce and too fried for my taste). Service was quick and friendly, and the food overall was very good. Prices are a little too high, though, considering the fact that most of the fancy rolls are $15 and you can get equivalent quality at other places for cheaper. Overall, a fun experience, but there are more inexpensive places in the area that I like just as much. read more

This place should be hands down 5 stars. If only based on the food, it would have no competitor. But this is my theory... There's no protocol for the times... I don't even know if any management. Covid is not over! And we all want to be back, and play like everything is normal... But it's not. The disregard of some spots is scary, and dissapointing. Busboys with no masks reaching out to the other side of the table while you're still sitting on it to get dirty dishes, with no masks and talking close to your face. Waitresses with no masks talking at the perfect height on top of your food... W no masks. Hostesses, allowing people to hover over my table, talking close to my food w no masks. A little bit of distance?... No. The truth is that the food here is great... But the whole experience felt gross. The drinks are great, but the table sticky. Happy hour is great, but I had to ask for a clean dish. The place feels dingy, in need of a remake. I felt the service was delayed. Hostesses & waitresses looked unhappy. Maybe they're not, but was definitely my own impression, so the full 3 big giant stars go all to the food. I just. discovered today the best, most delicious wings in town. they're here! Such a cute place we were so excited to stumble upon it. The hostesses were a little weird and unfriendly but they sat us quickly. Our waiter was very friendly and even though he forgot my order that was filled out and handed to him, it was not a big deal. The food however was horrible. Presentation couldn't be any worst. One of the dishes we ordered looked like a kid threw up all over the plate. The sushi did not taste horrible but it was not that great. This is definitely not your conventional sushi restaurant.
