Minnow has an absolutely top tier happy hour!! The deals are pretty darn good for the area, and the cocktails and delicious! I love that they are all batched. The staff were also sooo fun and nice. They let us sample some of the drinks. The patio is really nice! It was a decent size and was shady too, so I could see it being great even into the summer. The inside was cute as well. The sushi was pretty good! I really liked the spicy scallop and veggie roll a lot. I would get those again anytime. I think that the speciality rolls that we ordered were good but not as good as the classic rolls. The flavors were a little muddled imo. Likewise, the rolls were falling apart. Delicious, but unwieldy I really want to come back and have the matcha one day when I'm in the area. Highly suggest Minnow if you love sushi and cocktails - I feel like this place is for sure going to blow up.

Minnow rocks!! They've got the best sushi and matcha and it's one of the few places with good hojicha. I wish they did reverse happy hour more often and I need to try the bagels. I look forward to going to more community events as well!

Had this place saved for awhile now and was in the area so I was finally able to check it out! I went in for matcha, I was so indecisive on what to get because everything sounded so good but the friendly staff definitely helped me make my decision! I had their blackberry crush, it was perfectly tart and delicious!! Matcha was the perfect color so I already knew it was going to be amazing. The weather was beautiful so my friend & I decided to sit outside and enjoy the sun for a bit. We had a great time!! Next time, I need to try their sushi!!

Favorite Matcha spot in Phoenix! Brought my cousins for national matcha day. From L to R, the blackberry crush, red velvet and then the ube matcha. Red Velvet is my favorite. Can customize flavor, milk, and even add more matcha. The owner is the best and a great spot to have a drink outside. They do this $15 daily deal with a sushi roll and matcha which changes everyday.

I was surprised by the vibe of this place--it's more laid back and casual than I expected. I liked that, though. Ordering through a kiosk and taking a number was easy enough. I would say the prices here are about average for sushi in the area. Their selection of options is nice, not overwhelmingly large. We tried a few different special rolls. Their veggie roll and their eel were my favorites. Their matcha and Hojicha beverage options are great, and I could see myself coming back for just a drink. I'd recommend this for a nice weekend lunch, especially with the patio seating.

Cutest sushi restaurant!!! Amazing sushi, matcha drinks and pastries!!!! Freshest ingredients!!!! You place your own order, but the staff is such a great help. They are the most friendliest, most helpful staff and it's the absolute cleanest cafe. Plenty of seating inside or out.

Being a matcha bar, I had very high expectations for this place. Here they serve both sushi and matcha, and you order what you want at a kiosk. It wasnt very busy when we came, so there wasn't much of a wait. We ordered a mango and black sesame matcha at the kiosk, then went to the bar to watch them make our drinks. Each matcha drink was whisked to perfection. In my opinion, the matchas tasted just ok. You can tell the quality of the matcha is good, however I have had better tasting matcha. It is a bit grassy, and could have been a little sweeter.

Just happen to be driving by the other day and saw this place. I thought I would stop in and try it out after looking over the website. I noticed they had happy hour prices from 8 to 9 which is perfect for anytime I need to head out for a quick bite in the evening. My son loves sushi and lower prices always help with the amount he usually eats. This place was casual and affordable. Nice and clean. With a nice patio. I look forward to when the fireplace is lit. Everyone was super nice! And the service was fast. If you're looking for a casual sushi place this is a great option in this area. We went for the traditional spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. Tasted fresh and had a nice little mild kick. 2 for $12. We also ordered the red dragon which had a great spicy and sweet flavor to it. The swim break was my least favorite. I think it might've been the sauce. I liked it but I think it would've been better if it had been drizzled over instead of poured over. It drowned out the flavors of the fish. I will definitely come back here for happy hour. And look forward to trying some of the other specialty rolls. There's a lot of interesting sounding mixes.

Black sesame matcha, California roll, edamame

Let me start off by saying the matcha was amazing. I'm super picky about my matcha because a lot of places are either too sweet, all milk, or super grainy/chalky. This place was none of those. May have found my go to matcha spot in Scottsdale. The reason for the 4 stars is the food is nothing super special. I got the California roll and edamame. California roll is similar to what you can get at an AJs but a little fresher since the roll hasn't been sitting in a fridge. Edamame was way too soft and lacked any flavor besides the salt sprinkled on top. You also need to pay extra for ginger, wasabi, and sauces outside of soy sauce. Overall, I would def come back for the matcha but prob skip out on the food!

To say I had been impatiently waiting to try Minnow would be an understatement... and I had high expectations. For some businesses that might lead to disappointment and an inevitable upside-down smiley face, but not for Minnow! Ordered a couple of sushi rolls - the Blanquita Roll and the Saguaro Roll. Both were spectacular, fresh, and offered a delightful combination of flavors that made my tastebuds and belly happy! I love that they provided gluten-free soy sauce for my rolls to take a dip in. I washed it down with the Blackberry Matcha! It was tasty... and I would order it again... but definitely would keep it at 25% sweetness. Can't wait for next time to try the Goma Matcha! I'm a fan of Minnow! Gluten-free rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS*****

Such a cool place with some cool vibes. The decor is nice and the inside was very clean. We didn't really interact with the workers but the worker that brought us our order seemed friendly. I ordered the miso matcha and it wasn't my favorite. It was very salty, bitter, and it was just a random combination that didn't sit well with me. The blackberry matcha was really good!

Super excited that we were able to stop by this cute casual sushi matcha spot. What a perfect combo! Both Red Dragon & Penasco rolls were super tasty, a little spicy but expected! I also loved the ube drink, loved the combo of matcha and ube. Definitely a cute spot to checkout! Staff was helpful, we ordered on the kiosk so we can explore the menu. Parking available.

Such a cute little sushi spot, and when I say little, I mean little. Little bit mighty. Mighty in flavor, mighty in customer service, mighty and cute decor, mighty deliciousness, mighty in presentation, mighty on heat lamps on the patio, mighty in good brand colors . Perfect little low-key date night spot also right next-door to chop shop with easy parking. We tried the Japanese milk bun cheesecake dessert thing which we gave a three out of five to. My avocado cucumber roll was a 10 out of five, very fresh and can't wait to come back to try out the fish rolls.

Upon entering, we were transported to the Roaring 20s and it felt like we were actually riding on a train. We were seated at the bar which is where I prefer to sit. Our bartender for the evening was Remington. The menu is pretty extensive. Remington explained the layout of the menu and was great at making suggestions based on our preferences. Some of the drinks we ordered came with snacks which let me know that our selections were more spirit forward. The snacks of course complimented the flavors of the cocktails very well. I started with Beware the Papparazzi. It's a vodka based cocktail that had a sweet, tart, yet balanced taste. It also came with a surprise that I won't spoil. I also had The Film Star which is essentially a Vesper. It was good, but extremely boozy! It came with caramel popcorn. The sweet and saltiness of the popcorn complimented the drink well. Great drinks and a great vibe! Platform 18 was one of my favorite bars that I visited during my trip and I will definitely be back the next time I visit Phoenix.

Just know that here it's worth it. I am tired of going to bars that serve mules or manhattans at $15 or so. Here when you pay for a drink you are getting something rare, unique, and bold. That isn't to even cover the experience and service. Far and away this experience is one of a kind and doesn't really break the bank. We were kindly greeted and welcomed into Platform 18. Our server was Raquel, and she was amazing. Here interest in knowing what things you liked drinking, and giving a couple recommendations. She steered me towards a few tequila drinks that I love, whereas my wife loving the Banana Pudding drink. Also do not sleep on their rich "wicked city" ice cream. One of the most deeply chocolatey ice creams Ive ever had.

Sunny's Lounge was in the area, and I had passed by it before, so I decided to stop by on a Saturday night. They have a small parking lot and I was able to find a spot. If you can't find a spot, you can park for free on a side stret. Ambiance (4/5): Dive-ish is a nice way to put it. Small. But also homey and cool. There's a pool table in the corner with some seating that surrounds it. Plus some seating at the bar. Service (5/5): Friendly and attentive service. Which goes a long way. I was greeted promptly, the bartender answered my questions, and he was friendly. Everything I look for at a bar. Food (N/A): I had dinner earlier that night, so I was on a liquid diet, but Sunny's does have a limited menu mainly consisting of snacks and hot dogs. While I didn't try any of the food, there is some creativity with their food options, so I'd like to give them a try next time around. Drinks (4.5/5): While Sunny's is dive-ish, they are known for their cocktails. And they have an interesting list of creative craft cocktails to choose from. Including some tiki drinks that seem to be a collaboration with Undertow, a nearby tiki bar. Perhaps they're owned by the same people? Either way, I liked it. There's sophistication in their cocktails, which I'm always a fan of. Sunny's is a cool spot. My preference would be to go on a weekday, because if you're trying to play pool, one pool table is not enough when there's a crowd.

The restaurant is right by Global Ambassador, so parking is in the structure, and can get very busy every night, so be prepared for that. The restaurant had a lovely, dark, alluring vibe inside. We did choose to sit outside, as there was a nice big patio and the weather was beautiful. The chairs had a gorgeous deep curve, that wrapped the arms around you and were tailored in a gorgeous floral. Our incredible server, Ren, greeted us at our table and her energy was immediately infectious! We knew we were going to have a great time. You could tell she loved her job and loved this restaurant. She walked us through the menu and gave us many recommendations on drinks and food. We all listened to her drink options , all getting something different, and they were all fantastic. The matcha espresso and Louis' Martini were my favorites. We ordered the steak tartare, gyoza, short rib skewers, spicy salmon handrolls (we were able to make it 3), and scallops with risotto. Everything was truly incredible. The steak tartare was all of our favorites, and the hand rolls and gyoza , close second. Only thing I'd do differently, is try the chicken thigh skewers over the short rib. I imagine you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. With our whole evening being absolutely perfect, and still talking about it 2 weeks later, we can't wait to go back! We will definitely be asking for Ren as our server ! And reordering some of our favorites and trying some new things I had my eye on. So happy to know a restaurant still has passion and takes pride in a true dining experience.
