    Takoyaki!
    Ebuwa E.

Boats! Boats! Boats! I am told they have excellent ramen here - did not get to try this, as they had a sign saying ramen was unavailable. I went with the Basil's Chicken (extra ), Takoyaki and the Rock Roll. The roll was beautiful, a crisp wrapping of tender beef and mushroom, topped with crisp onions. The Basil's Chicken was a surprise - a hint of acidic brightness with basil (?holy basil) afternotes. Order of palate - tart, spicy and basil-y. Takoyaki was excellent! I would that there were more bonito flakes, but that's personal preference.

What, what a place. Very large menu, fresh ingredients nothing really to complain about. We were there for mid-week lunch, we got seated right away and had drinks on the table within two minutes. Ordering was quick as well, the selection was quite something to go through (pictures) and there is sure to be something for everyone there. Service was good, our server was nice and personable. All in all a good experience. Recommended for sure. We will be back.

The best sushi I've had in Saint Louis! Loved the details and the quality at this place. I would definitely go back.

Located within the Wilson, Clarkson shopping strip the same area that has Whadda ya want and Sarah's cake shop. Sushi boat is the average sushi type restaurant, sadly I did nit find anything to separate them from so many others. On this dining occasion I decided to try their lunch special two sushi rolls and miso soup for $12.95. I had the salmon roll and the spicy tuna roll both were very average in taste nothing standing out about it the rice was well very plain and tasteless like Rice's and mini sushi restaurants the fish was okay. The service was good. The decor was about average for this type of restaurant located within a strip mall shopping center.

This is our favorite sushi spot in St. Louis by far and we are so thrilled at how close it is to us. The sushi is all so fresh, the crab rangoons are to die for, and we have yet to have anything else that didn't satisfy us. The service is also next to none- they are so attentive and kind, and so accommodating with kids. It's our family's new favorite spot and couldn't recommend it more!

The food was amazing! The portion all turned out in larger sizes than what we expected, and the quality did not disappoint us! The poke bowl was not very flavorful, but they have soy sauce on the side for you to add based on your preferences. The service was so nice and there were not a lot of people when we went at around 12:30pm. I also like the soft music they played in the background, making it a comfortable environment to dine in.

Glad to see another location of theirs open! Big parking lot available. Very clean and nice looking restaurant. The sushi was good and all looked aesthetic. It didn't taste as good as the St. Charles location for some reason but still really good and fresh sushi. We had the same server as the St. Charles location and we love her. She's so nice and attentive to us at the right times. Doesn't rush or check in too often.

This place has everything, great parking, service and menu. Hot Tea and Goyza was the way to start!

Rolls: Lobster roll (9/10) , Chesterfield Mayor (10/10), Lucky Roll (11/10) The fruit on the boat was also so fresh!

Sushi boat is the best!!! Loved the St. Charles location and was so excited when this location opened. The food is always amazing and the service is beyond excellent! They're always so kind. My bf and I go here every time we want sushi. Not regulars, necessarily, but frequent enough to feel comfortable recommending. (which we always do) Last night was his birthday and I mentioned it when they asked what our plans were that evening. They brought out a sushi boat with a beautiful display and happy birthday sign! Then dessert, they brought out 2 vanilla mochi's...spectacular! I cannot get over it. They're so amazing!!! Beer was so good, my mojito was fabulous. I didn't take a pic of our appetizer, but Shrimp dumplings are soo good!! Thank you so much for making our evening special. 100/10 cannot recommend enough. Love the staff!!!

So excited to have them open a second location closer to where I live. The food is just as excellent. Service was amazing and the location provides much needed space. I had the dragon ball (a favorite of mine) and the Chesterfield Mayor roll to try something new. We also ordered the Snow Mountain roll and some Nigiri. Presentation was, as always, wonderful, as was the food itself. We will be back here regularly.

The restaurant is relatively small with a handful of tables inside, and a counter where you can pick up to go orders. They have several different options on the menu for you to choose from, many with both veggie and meat related items. There are several different soups, salads, noodles, and curries available. We started with fresh spring rolls and edamame. The spring rolls were incredibly fresh and are made to order every day. He did mention that they usually run out because they are a favorite. I elected to go with the drunken noodles with chicken, spicy #4 for my main dish, and my husband went with the pad Thai with chicken. My dish was incredibly tasty, lots of great flavors, the chicken was fantastically cooked, and the heat level was perfect. I absolutely enjoyed the food here and I look forward to coming back. I also learned that they have a great lunch special during the week starting on Tuesdays, so I may have to come back to check that out.

There were also tons of board games! I got the strawberry fruit tea- it was wonderful. Not too sweet, had real strawberries in it with lemon slices, as well. Strong green tea flavor if you're a fan of that. Prices were great! Very affordable. I got the crab rangoons which were very good and crispy. The dumplings were alright. The pork and shrimp ones didn't really stick out to me. The beef ones were good! My favorite of the three I tried was the chicken with shiitake and bok choy. I got them pan fried, but I felt like the sides of the dumplings were a bit doughy and undercooked. Overall a very nice place for lunch and a treat! Will definitely return.

It's a pretty spacious restaurant with board games to play, a few random kitchen appliances for sale, and peacock chairs to chill in. The lady working here was really nice, and clarified a few things on the menu for me. She seemed busy with tickets, and pick up orders. The food took a while to come out, but it wasn't too bad of a wait. I wish our drink orders had come out all at the same time though. drinks: Red Bean Uji Matcha - ordered with less sugar, my MIL liked the flavor Pineapple Fruit Tea - ordered with all the sugar, my husband did not get a lot of pineapple flavor Jasmine Tea - ordered with less sugar, I liked the flavor and that the jasmine was strong Food: Cucumber Salad - it was drenched in the sauce, but it was still good. I wish it was smashed cucumber instead of sliced though Pan Fried Dumplings - it was missing a lot of crisp, but the filling was good. We got beef. Boiled Dumplings - Pork was the filling, the wrapper was good and chewy, but it nothing was stand out. Shrimp Shumai - Compared to most shumai, this was big and you could see chunks of the shrimp at the top! Chicken Teriyaki Udon - the noodle was great! I think this had the most flavor, and was the best option for the table. Considering the area, it's probably the best option y'all have, but I think having the udon will be the way to go!

Ambiance: Very nice, dark, cozy -- date night vibes…read more Service: Great! Polite, smiles, answered all our questions. We started with the Isaan hamachi. It was okay, but compared to Sado's version it just didn't hold up. The biggest issue was the aroma--it had a sour, almost "rotten milk" smell. I'm not sure if that was from the coconut milk reacting with the acidity of the dish and was intentional, but it really affected the overall experience. The flavor itself was decent, but smell plays such a big role in taste. Next was a white fish sashimi (I can't remember the name) served over a thin orange slice and topped with jalapeño. The flavor combination was really nice and refreshing, but the slices of fish were paper thin. At around $20, I expected a more substantial portion. The gyoza was solid. Nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed with great flavor, a beautiful crispy lace, and honestly one of the best-smelling dishes we ordered. The palm sugar ribs came highly recommended, so I was excited for them. Texture-wise they were excellent--crispy outside, juicy inside--but the sauce had an overpowering aroma that reminded both of us of wet dog. My guess is the fish sauce was a little heavy-handed. I've had plenty of dishes with fish sauce before and love the depth it adds, so I don't know if this was intentional or just an off night. The flavor itself was good, but the smell made it difficult to fully enjoy. (It was pungent in the worst way) The standout of the night was the Japanese eggplant. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the chili crisp brought everything together. Easily a 10/10. For dessert, we had the mango custard coconut cake, which was also delicious. Favorite cocktail: the Re-Animator. Refreshing, citrus-forward, with just enough wasabi to give it a subtle kick. I've never had anything quite like it and would absolutely order it again. Overall, it wasn't the strongest first impression. There were definitely some highlights--the eggplant, dessert, and cocktail were all excellent--but if I'm spending this much on dinner, I'd probably choose Sado, where every visit has been consistently outstanding. That said, I'd still come back for that eggplant alone. This reads more like an honest dining journal than a takedown. It gives credit where it's due, clearly explains why certain dishes didn't work for you, and ends on a fair note rather than a harsh one.

The cherry blossoms, warm wood details, lanterns, and décor make the restaurant feel immersive and give you plenty to look at while still feeling cozy. Service was also quick and friendly throughout our visit. For appetizers, we tried the sea cucumber dumplings and spring rolls. The sea cucumber dumplings weren't really our cup of tea flavor-wise, but the presentation was beautiful and I'm glad we tried something different. The spring rolls were more traditional and had a really nice, crispy crunch. For our entrées, the sizzling beef was easily our favorite of the night! The beef was tender, flavorful, and came with a good portion size. We also tried the volcano rice, which was probably the most fun dish of the evening. It comes out sizzling and they pour the egg over it and finish cooking it right at the table. Definitely a cool experience! The flavor itself was a little bit of a miss for us because the sauce is on the sweeter side and we tend to prefer more savory flavors. Our server let us know that next time we can request it without the sauce, which we will definitely be doing! Overall, Jinzen had quick, friendly service, a beautiful atmosphere, and some really delicious food. The sizzling beef alone is something we'd come back for, and next time we're looking forward to trying the volcano rice without the sweet sauce!

I dropped in on a Saturday evening and ordered the **Shroomed Up** ramen, and it was a ramen masterclass in a bowl. The broth managed to be incredibly rich and deeply savory-sweet all at once, without ever feeling heavy. It was loaded with thick, substantial slabs of mushrooms, tender-cooked bok choy, and the noodles were the star of the show--thick and perfectly cooked to that ideal sweet spot where they aren't too chewy but have zero mushiness. Even with a line stretching out the door when we arrived, the wait wasn't tedious, and we reached the counter reasonably fast. The ordering process is standard counter service, but the staff member who took our order was incredibly nice, polite, and helpful, practically predicting my questions as I was looking over the menu. The same employee even brought our bowls out to us.
