My kids love sushi and so do I. From where we live good sushi can be hard to find. I'd been warned by friends that this location is kinda small, but we are early diners (before 5:30) so it wasn't a problem for us and when we arrived at 4:45 on a Sunday only one family was inside eating. Many takeout orders happened while we were dining, which is worth noting. We started with edamame and miso soups for all three of us. My younger son loves a shaggy dog and rated Sushi Bene's his favorite. We also shared a Godzilla roll, Las Vegas roll, salmon roll, and California roll. All delicious. Mr. Shaggy Dog wanted to try Mochi so we had a strawberry and matcha. They arrived quartered, with whipped cream in the middle and chocolate syrup drizzled on the plate. I've tried this place a couple time and the sushi was just mediocre at best. Nothing really stood out as memorable. There's definitely others spots in the area that have some better specialty rolls. Food was absolutely delicious and fresh made. all the sushi rolls we ordered are good flavors. Very safe to order all the types there. They have 3 sushi chefs working at the same time. Do not order chicken teriyaki bowl! I didn't think they have a big wok kitchen at the back, so the chicken from the bowl seems like fast fried chicken nuggets heated up then put some sauce on top. It will not be the same as expected to other normal restaurants. Do not expect fast service! They had too many take out orders that the servers had to take care of orders and tables. It took a long time to get drinks ordered then took a while to get the food. Still will come back next time, but maybe for takeout only, and sushi only. read more

I waited quite some time to order once i had i saw multiple whole families come and go before even getting my appetizer. After about an hour of waiting for my food i get my appetizer along with the rest of my food which was the wrong order... this place takes most of its time on presentation and forgets that the customer is in there primarily to eat and not look at the food. Went on a Thursday night at 6:30pm, not very busy, 3 people at the bar and one table occupied with 2 people. I waited for waitress to greet me, per the sign at the door. I asked if I could sit in the back corner away from the door, I had some studying to do. She refused, mentioned they get busy 'sometimes' on Thursdays and needed me to sit at a different table, next to the only one being occupied. We have been hoping for a new sushi spot to open in Prosper and THIS IS IT! We went in just a few days after they opened. I love how clean the place is and had great music on! They have a very simple menu that is nice and not overwhelming. When the rolls we ordered were brought out you could just tell the fresh quality. The rolls are SO GOOD! There was only one person working behind the sushi bar but man the quality was so good! It didn't take long to receive the rolls either! Our server was so sweet too. I'm not sure if she is the manager or owner but she was so sweet to us! We plan to frequent here often since we love sushi and love that we now have a neighborhood sushi spot! While it's a little more tucked away from the main stretch of Preston Rd retail, this place is a hidden gem that needs more attention. The quality, presentation and value for the food is amazing. I've done both takeout and dine-in, both were great but the service during lunch really takes it up a notch. Our favorites are the sunomono salad and the firecracker roll. My one and only "complaint" is the fact they don't have a basic fried rice or stir fry option on the menu for my Uber-picky husband who doesn't eat sushi. But it's so good that we make an extra stop when I'm craving sushi so we both can get what we like. 5 stars for sushi bene and my extremely accommodating husband! read more
