    Sushi
    Alejandra M.

The service was very good. The food was good, some better than others. The place did not look very nice, but it was not too bad. And a reasonable price for the value. The waitress was very friendly, and they served the food absurdly fast. They have good promotions during the week.

    Spicy Salmon, unagi, dynamite roll

Had the three Maki roll for $12.99. Pretty cheap, but mediocre sushi. Ordered the spicy salmon, dynamite roll, and unagi roll. Spicy Salmon was not spicy, but had a good size of salmon inside. Im not super fond of such a simple dynamite roll as well (shrimp tempura, avocado, mayo). Unagi roll was just sub par as well. Everything was kind of bland and just lower quality. Location itself is nice. Their wall of greetings is super cute. And every table has an outlet which is really convenient. The server was really nice and came out to refill our tea frequently.

Party platter A ($39.99) plus $1 to upgrade Cali rolls to Unagi roll. Free veg spring roll for checking in on Yelp

I ordered delivery. The staff that took the order was pleasant to talk to. I ordered the party platter A and asked to change the California roll to a Unagi roll. she did it with a $1 add on (pretty cheap). She gave 2 free veggie spring rolls for checking into Yelp even though it's supposed to be for dine in. She took credit card payment over the phone. Grade: A The food was good. The sashimi was pretty fresh. The rolls were good. A lot of ingredients and rice was very soft. The platter was nicely arranged. The only complaint was the soya sauce seemed diluted or maybe it was the low sodium one, but for some reason It did not have much taste. Grade: A The 3 star rating is mainly for the long delivery time. The staff told me it would be 45 minutes for delivery and it took 1 hour. I had to call the staff to check in on the delivery. I think it's a bit unreasonable given that I live 5 minutes away that it would take 45 minutes to begin with. I put the order in at 5:30pm on Friday. I know this is a reasonable time to quote, and I understand it was a busy Friday night, but it's unacceptable to be 15 minutes late when I live so close, and they told me it would be there in 45 minutes. The delivery person was apologetic, but this left a bad taste in my mouth. Grade: C- Since the food and price is good, perhaps I'll try dine in or take out next time.

This is how thin my salmon sashimi was, as was the rest of my chirashi don sashimi. My toilet paper is thicker than this. Don't think I'll be ordering from here again.

First visit to Sushi Bay today and not my last. Great service and a nice cute and clean place. I ordered a small take out order as I was just on a walk. The veggie spring rolls were a crunchy goodness and the avocado hand roll was fresh and delish ! Definitely will be back to try more from their fabulous menu.

It's a great place, very cute and the food is amazing. The staff is very friendly, she's always smiling. :) I'm not from Toronto and I saw at Yelp that it is a new place in the neighborhood. My husband and I decided to try anyway and we don't regret. We've already come twice!!!

The food is fresh, the delivery man is so polite and they are pretty fast with delivery (not uber).

Always fresh and delicious, our go to in East York, the dragon rolls are to die for, it's also nice to try some of their new inventions.

Terrible. Sashimi was not fresh. Butterfish was cut really thin. Quality is questionable. Would not eat here again. Cannot recommend.

There's no reservation system but they do have a waitlist on Yelp which gets you in line (highly recommended). First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time. But it doesn't feel too cramped at the same time. As it is AYCE, everyone in our group left full of course and enjoyed each course. I liked the almond tofu at the end! ----TL;DR---- Pros: great selection of meats, quality was top notch, huge portions of course as it is AYCE, service was prompt and all staff were really friendly. Cons: no reservations so need to be on a waitlist. The no credit card system is a bit of an inconvenience. Bottom Line: we loved it--definitely would go back again and enjoy more of their selections! You have to try them if you like meat and AYCE!

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

The ambience of the restaurant is chill, plenty of seating. It can get loud when it's full, but that's the vibe. I was stuck between the sweet shrimp bowl and the uni bowl.... We got a bunch of dishes to share and overall liked most things but some things (like the oyster) unfortunately didn't hit as well. Wagyu - thin slices but very tender and very flavorful with the cheese - surprised by how well the flavor combo worked out. Tofu - easily one of my fave agedashi tofu. Huge tofu slices with very chewy outer texture, a bit gelatinous . Really went well with the sauce and toppings Carbonara - nice chewy texture to the udon, not too soft and not too firm. The sauce was nice and creamy. Not as truffley as I thought it would be, wish it was a little more but it was still pretty good Oyster - least favorite of all the dishes we got today. It was a bit sour and the cheese felt like it didn't really help the flavor profile of the oysters. It was super oily from the cheese, felt like it was drowning in cheese/oil flavor Cod - it looks good but something is lacking, maybe in taste? Feel like maybe the marinade did not penetrate enough. The texture is still nice and soft , with a crisp skin . Also was a bit too oily for our liking, compared to other miso cod we have had. It was also a relatively smaller piece of cod. Overall, the appetizers were really good! The oyster and cod were a bit disappointing. Would come back for the carbonara and the other appetizers mentioned though!
