I was camping in Slab City over a weekend and was craving some noodles. I might be a bit crazy for visiting during the summer and also craving hot soup during the summer. Overall, I found the dining options in the whole Imperial Valley to be limited and also very pricey which I find to be insane for one of the more impoverished parts of California. I guess these restaurants can charge what they do because of the limited options, lack of competition and the distance they have to travel to bring the food here. I was happy that the pho at Sushi & Noodle is actually pretty good! They also had all the typical additions to pho (bean sprouts, basil, lime, onions, cilantro, sriracha and hoisin sauce) which was very much appreciated! I definitely had worse in more populated areas with more competition. I opted to get the beef pho in the large size which I believe came out to $17.99. With tax and tip it was around $23 which is a tad pricey. They have a Combination Pho which already comes in a large and also comes with Beef, Shrimp and Chicken for $18.99 which probably would have been a better value. They do have quite an extensive menu and would return the next time I camp out in the Slabs! read more

Great Place if You Like Broccoli and Cabbage I realize the culinary pickings might be slim in El Centro, but when I saw that there was a place that was pairing up sushi and noodles, I thought it might be worth taking a chance. (I will try almost anything once.) Unfortunately Sushi and Noodles didn't do a good job in the noodle department, and I doubt they are any better when it comes to sushi. I ordered the Curry Ramen with Chicken, but it was really more like curry cabbage with ramen. The counter service was quick and efficient, but there was very little in the way of chicken in my bowl, and only slightly more in the way of noodles. As I picked through my food, I noticed on their boards that the restaurant offered a huge selection of "sushi." To me this is another sign that they aren't good at either ramen or sushi. In terms of ambiance, I think Sushi and Noodles might be engaging in a little imposter-ism. As I picked through my food and took in my surroundings, I noticed that the store manager/owner was Korean and not Japanese, which might explain the extra cabbage! (Another possibility is that cabbage is much cheaper than chicken.) read more

The food is always delicious. Took 1 star away for consistency of portions. Sometimes the fresh sushi is soooo skimpy. Sometimes it's normal. I usually stick to the poke bowl since you get what you pay for and it's always fresh and delicious. The pokirito is a personal fave and some of the state rolls are awesome but again small for the price. 10/10 will continue to be a return customer. read more

I was truly satisfied and stuffed after eating the poke bowl! My girl got the Teriyaki chicken bowl but I had to try it out for myself too.
