Went in for a sushi burrito and saw them making a poke bowl. Decided to change my mind and get a bowl instead. They provide lots of options for the bowls and everything tasted fresh. Ok, this is not a fancy sit down sushi place This is a drive though/fast food restaurant I cannot believe how many good things they have on the menu 50 different sushi rolls, various appetizers Korean food, Japanese food, even Vietnamese Pho and if you consider burritos Mexican food then they have that too! This place is run by a Korean couple and the food is legit!! First day I had the soft shell Crab appetizer And it was big and beautiful and the flavor was OK, but the Kona Volcano burrito with seaweed wrap was the BOMB!!!! I could eat that everyday, especially on a hot summer day Went back the next day and tried the Dynamite appetizer and It was Good Went back the 3rd day and ordered the Pole bowl and I'm telling you it was delicious! This was one of the first places I tried when I first got stationed here in the valley and I've been hooked ever since. In terms of sushi in this area you don't have as many options unless you take a trip to sd, but this satisfies that craving until you get there. I haven't been disappointed yet! The poke bowls and protein are always fresh. The honey chicken isn't like a lot of asian restaurants where you get that mushy, sponge like consistency. There's actually meat in there (pause) The sushi burritos are definitely one of my favorite items. I would also recommend the Calexico roll. For sure a must try at least once. Poor service to begin with. New employee having a very difficult taking our order. Too many handwritten signs everywhere! Already enough choices on the menu! Had the appetizer platter which had gyosas/shrimp and egg rolls. Average tasting. Mizo was the only tasty thing we ate. My wife had the salmon and rice bowl that had some cooked frozen salmon with skin on it. Not tasty at all...pretty bland. Vegetables added tasted old. Almost forgot we had corona beer that would have tasted better with a slice of lime in it! Who drinks Coronas without a lime wedge? To summarize, better service and better fresh food is needed here! Never reviewed on yelp before because ive never been so bothered by a restaurant but omg this was garbage. Everything you order will have some upcharge or way of cutting a corner to save money. Pokebowl is $16 for bowl of old rice and two scoops of fish. Also you cant get two scoops of salmon specifically...they charge extra for it. Sushi was also trash. The slices of sashimi on top were so thin it actually looked comical. Like they intentionally are cutting it as thin as possible. Honestly i deserve this for thinking poke in el centro would be good. The service was great. My poke bowl started off tasting fresh and crispy but, the shrimp didn't. I was hesitant to continue eating; I only ate a couple if the shrimp but finished the rest of the bowl. Well, not all the rice bc I just rather eat a small portion of it. The cashier was horrible. She was rude throughout the entire ordering process. The owner of the business was sitting in the lobby as the employee was being extremely rude and condescending to me. I ended up paying $23 for a 4 protein poke bowl and the tuna wasn't even fresh; additionally, there was almost zero tuna in the bowl as she covered it with tons of jalapeños. I was going to dine in but after this nonsense, I took it to go. When I got a chance to eat, she barely added any spicy-mayo yet I asked for extra. The selection for their Poke is extensive, price is MORE than fair for the amount of protein you get (3 scoops) cheap even, AND you can choose all 3 different proteins. The ingredients are fresh, nice and cool, the sauces are savory, they have options that are carb free, which is a big plus. My review is based on their poke, and we also got a spicy tuna sushi roll that was cheap and good. I will definitely come back to try other menu items. It has plenty of noodle options, and even an option for kids, which is something that some of the other poke/noodle places i've been outside the valley, don't have. read more

If you're looking to get ramen here, look elsewhere. It's complete trash. The ramen I got was seriously top ramen, with a regular boiled egg (they only gave me half of an egg too btw), and mixed veggies that you buy at the grocery store. Not to mention this is definitely the bagged top ramen because the bits of beef and carrot squares that come in the seasoning packet were in the broth too. Wow.. the audacity. I ordered the Wisconsin and North Dakota. On both rolls the fish were small and thinner then a quarter (per piece) my wife jokingly held a piece up to the light and you can see through it. Total with everything for 3 we spent 100.00. We where hungry after we ate and we're thinking of going to in & out. Not good Theresa, you have to make better sushi rolls. Omg this place is HORRIBLE! I'm sorry but if you think this place is "decent" you've obviously never had good poke and noodles before. I ordered a poke bowl and it was about 14$ for the most basic, skimped out bowl i've ever seen in my life. The lady that made my bowl had a hard time understanding me, and she was suuuper slow. Someone here also mentions how they don't mix your protein with sauce in a separate bowl (which they should), and i'm not sure why I didn't walk out at this point I guess I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt as there is nothing really different in the valley. Also ordered some "summer rolls" which are just their lame attempt of fresh spring rolls. Except these rolls are 5$ for just veggies. No tofu or shrimp, just veggies. Which is a problem because in any other place where they offer this appetizer 5$ will get you 2 rolls with veggies and a protein inside! Nope, not here you have to pay 3$ extra for that. So I did because why would I just want lettuce wrapped in rice paper for? MISTAKE, it was gross and flavorless and i'm almost sure the shrimp was raw. I gave one bite to this 8$ roll and left it there because I was not ready to get salmonella. I will obviously never return to this place EVER again. I hope they get their act together. Nothing but bad experiences at this El Centro location. My colleagues and I frequent the Brawley location for lunch on days when we have a court hearing. Although this review only reflects my opinion of the El Centro location, after today's experience at El Centro, I will probably not visit Brawley anymore either. This afternoon at El Centro, I ordered Yaki Udon with Rice. Imperial County does not have many options, so I overlook details like "padding" a noodle dish with rice. My colleagues and I have ordered this dish multiple times and the noodles always sit atop a generous portion of white rice. This time I paid $3.00 extra to substitute white rice for brown rice. When my dish came they only gave me a tiny amount of brown rice, which would not be an issue had they not charged my $3.00 extra. To recap: the restaurant that uses rice as a filler, charged me $3.00 for a different filler, and then skimped me on the filler that I paid extra for. (Also, who ever heard of charging $3.00 to substitute brown rice?) That's not the only problem with this place. Unlike the Brawley location, this location does not mix the poke fish with the sauce before putting the raw fish on the rice. In other words, you get raw fish juice soaking into naked, dry rice before they drizzle that salty sauce all over the place, as if it were salad dressing (which it is not). That's not the way you make poke. You're supposed to mix the fish with a sauce in a separate dish before placing it on top of the rice. The Brawley location does it correctly but this El Centro location does not. El Centro management probably figures nobody would notice and if they do, the customers have no choice but to show up because there is no other option for poke in Imperial County. However, in the game of "take it or leave it" I choose to proudly leave it. I rate this restaurant two stars because the food is good, but there is a serious quality control problem with this location. read more

Great for a quick sushi lunch. The mild ramen is the best in my opinion..plain ramen tastes like warm salted water...spicy is too overwhelming. Sushi rolls to go are always packed loosely and tumble everywhere so carry them carefully on the way home. read more
