Ordered teriyaki chicken and tofu ramen. Chicken was so dried out/overcooked that it resembled chicken jerky. Mmmmm. So good. The ramen was good. Maybe they were having an off day...I did order around 8:30pm on a Tuesday evening.

Went in for a sushi burrito and saw them making a poke bowl. Decided to change my mind and get a bowl instead. They provide lots of options for the bowls and everything tasted fresh. Bowl ended up being large and very filling. Lots of flavor to the bowl. Interior is a little dated and could use some updating but the food was excellent.

This was a great place to stop on the way home. The food was fresh and not over expensive. I ordered a poke bowl for $13 they pile nearly whatever you want in there

This was one of the first places I tried when I first got stationed here in the valley and I've been hooked ever since. In terms of sushi in this area you don't have as many options unless you take a trip to sd, but this satisfies that craving until you get there. I haven't been disappointed yet! The poke bowls and protein are always fresh. The honey chicken isn't like a lot of asian restaurants where you get that mushy, sponge like consistency. There's actually meat in there (pause) The sushi burritos are definitely one of my favorite items. I would also recommend the Calexico roll. For sure a must try at least once. So if you're craving sushi/ japanese cuisine and don't want to travel all the way to sd I highly recommend this spot!

Poor service to begin with. New employee having a very difficult taking our order. Too many handwritten signs everywhere! Already enough choices on the menu! Had the appetizer platter which had gyosas/shrimp and egg rolls. Average tasting. Mizo was the only tasty thing we ate. My wife had the salmon and rice bowl that had some cooked frozen salmon with skin on it. Not tasty at all...pretty bland. Vegetables added tasted old. Almost forgot we had corona beer that would have tasted better with a slice of lime in it! Who drinks Coronas without a lime wedge? To summarize, better service and better fresh food is needed here! Won't come back!

Ramen is horrible. No flavor whatsoever. A cup-a-noodle has more flavor. Do yourself a favor and avoid at the ramen. Zero flavor.

Overall, I found the dining options in the whole Imperial Valley to be limited and also very pricey which I find to be insane for one of the more impoverished parts of California. I guess these restaurants can charge what they do because of the limited options, lack of competition and the distance they have to travel to bring the food here. I was happy that the pho at Sushi & Noodle is actually pretty good! They also had all the typical additions to pho (bean sprouts, basil, lime, onions, cilantro, sriracha and hoisin sauce) which was very much appreciated! I definitely had worse in more populated areas with more competition. I opted to get the beef pho in the large size which I believe came out to $17.99. With tax and tip it was around $23 which is a tad pricey. They have a Combination Pho which already comes in a large and also comes with Beef, Shrimp and Chicken for $18.99 which probably would have been a better value. They do have quite an extensive menu and would return the next time I camp out in the Slabs!

Free tacos at the turn -- such a fun and unexpected service perk that really hit the spot. We had several meals at the clubhouse during our stay, and overall the food was solid and the cocktails definitely delivered. That said, during peak times, service can slow down quite a bit -- something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. We booked the stay & play package and made the most of it. By the fourth round (thanks to the free replays), we really got to know the course well. If you're striking it well off the tee and can read the greens, there are definitely scoring opportunities. But when the wind picks up, it adds a serious layer of difficulty -- so adjust expectations accordingly. All in all, a memorable trip and a course I'd absolutely recommend if you haven't played it yet.

My son flew in from Dallas, Texas for his birthday, and playing this beautiful desert layout was at the top of his list. One of the perks that sealed the deal was Rams Hill's generous birthday offer--free play after 12pm. A classy gesture from a course that's long been one of my favorites in Southern California. The only downside? It wasn't my birthday. With rates having climbed significantly, I did my best to convince my son to consider a more affordable option--maybe even something closer to home--but he held firm. He knew this course had always been high on my list, and he wanted to experience it for himself. As always, we were greeted with friendly smiles upon arrival. We warmed up on the range and soon met our starter, Don, who got us going. He mentioned the cart service running throughout the round and also let us in on a great surprise--complimentary street-style tacos on the 14th. That definitely raised some excitement. This course truly is a visual treat. The tee boxes were tidy, and the fairways--at least from the tee--looked lush and inviting. However, it didn't take long to notice something was off. Walking up to the first green, I couldn't help but say, "Yikes." The surface lacked the smoothness and softness I'd come to expect from past rounds here. I stayed optimistic, hoping it was just an isolated issue. Unfortunately, while the greens improved slightly as we went on, the fairways told a different story. Several holes had patchy or thin lies, and in some areas, it felt like we were hitting off very little grass at all. I found myself increasingly frustrated--not just because I had talked the course up so much to my son, but also because of the price point. When you're paying a premium, it's fair to expect conditions that match. On a positive note, the tacos at the 14th were excellent and a fun touch. However, we never saw the beverage cart for the entire round, which was surprising given it had been mentioned at the start. All in all, Rams Hill still holds a special place for me, but this visit was a letdown compared to past experiences. For now, it may come off my "must-play" recommendation list--at least until either the conditions improve or the pricing better reflects the current state of the course.
