What a beautiful setting with the mountains in the background and the Sultan sea in the front. I ordered: eggs sausages, hash browns, Rye bread, a short stack of pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. It was hearty and delicious. For a restaurant that is in the middle of nowhere, they know how to make a good breakfast! Friendly: 5 Stars***** Service: 4 Stars**** Pancakes: 3 Stars*** Eggs: 3 Stars*** Biscuits and gravy: 4 Stars**** Sausages: 4 Stars**** Hash Browns: 3 Stars*** Pricing: 3 Stars*** Remember, as far as buying food or drinks you are in the middle of nowhere, so the cost is not cheap. I was told they go shopping every Wednesday for supplies, so understand that when purchasing something! But the people are super nice and friendly and that makes up for pricing in my book.

Thursday is pizza night. NOT open all year; just mid -October through March, 8 am to 7 pm , daily. You can get a free pass to enter the property if you're just going to eat here. Or purchase a spa pass to soak in springs, or stay the night (RV, tent, rental home). I had a bean veggie burger for dinner, and eggs/hash browns/ biscuit for breakfast. I am quite literally a happy camper!

Mom had a Californian Omelette, which was great, cooked well, but was a bit too large for her - we took the rest home and I had it the next day. I had a diet soda, Mom had a Bloody Mary. They have a choice of bloodies, with different faux alcohol. The mix and the veggies were great, the alcohol was meh. The big booth table was hard to get our feet around. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was pleasant, we ran into a friend there.

Looking for a great breakfast in the IV is like looking for the fountain of youth!…read more After reviewing several possibilities I decided on the Broken Yolk simply because it was pet friendly. The place wasn't busy and was seated in the outside patio that turned out to be infested with several mosquito gangs that were relentless and annoying. The waitress came by quickly and took my drink order and gave me a bit of time to decide on my order. The menu has an insurmountable amount of items that even Chef Ramsey would have cried over. I decided on the mom omelette and a side of pumpkin spice pancakes. As I waited for my order I did enjoy the coffee that was the highlight of the meal. My order arrived and they looked like there was enough food on my plates to feed the entire valley. As I started my meal adventure it became apparent to me that I had chosen the wrong pill and would have to live in this nightmare for the next 20 or 30 minutes. I basically had to pick away at the only salvageable part of the meal which was the egg. Even the has browns were soggy and tasteless. The veggie interior was overwhelming and off putting! But there was one last hope in my side order of pumpkin pancakes. They were the size of the salton sea and tasted about as salty as the salton sea. They were uncooked and the pumpkin was no where to be found. After a couple of attempts trying to find a cooked piece I had to do a Linda Blair and spit out the hellish pieces onto my plate. It became apparently obvious to me that the Broken Yolk is about as broken as Humpty Dumpty and this place cannot be put back together! Disappointment is the only thing on this menu that is done right at this place! Do yourself a favor and just drive to Yuma or San Diego next time you wake up hungry. Or simply go next door to Dunkin Donuts.

We were checking out the park in hopes of moving to Yuma but this left a bad taste, both literally and figuratively. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table when the server/hostess came back from the dining room. Service was great. Our server was very friendly and efficient. I never had to ask about refills. Great service was 4 1/2 stars. The food and manager was the problem. We ordered the Clam chowder was cool. Hubs chose the Fish and Chips which was the Friday 'special' although no discount or anything special. The Fish were good but fries were cold. They make some ahead instead of cooking as they go and keeping the fries hot and fresh. Ridiculous. Fries are not good cold. We explained that to the server. She must be instructed to get the manager because she said she would get the manager. Not good. They took it off the bill. Big deal since they took it back. The Manager argues that it was not cold. He didn't feel it or taste it but made the final determination that they were hot. He was rude and condescending and not helpful at all. He brought back out a chowder that wasn't hot again and probably the same cold French fries. He didn't address our problem at all. After he left, as woman who lives at the park came by the table and said that this happens a lot and that she worked for many years managing a big restaurant that he needs to learn customer service. My meal had a bright spot. The Chicken fried steak was excellent but my potatoes were barely warm, too. The asparagus was good, too! The manager brought out potatoes again but they were the same as before. I don't think the manager understands that when a customer is so disappointed with a food that they return it, when it comes back out, it must be fixed big time. In this case, piping hot. Ridiculous, to send out the same bad food. I think the manager believes that the customers are a captured audience-that they will eat there because they live there. That is disrespectful to those that pay to live there. There are many complaints, so hopefully the owner will rectify this situation soon.
