It's been a long time since I have tried this place again considering it's literally less than 5 minutes from me . Seems to be new people from before . I've been here twice now .. some are friendly , some are not . First time salad wasn't correct but they corrected it quickly and this person was friendly. Vegan pizza in the middle of the desert? Yes! Things take time here, but the food is solid. I was rather pleased.

Campo café has not been the greatest in all the times i've gone. I got a western burger and it only had the patty (which looked like what they serve at school) cold bacon, and didn't even give me onion rings with it. That wasn't the only time the service hasn't been up to par. I understand that they don't have many workers but it takes forever to get my order taken and even longer to have a measly sandwich out. The restaurant inside itself isn't anything special and i'm so pissed they replaced the powerade on the fountain. I had to drive my car 100 miles before my smog test (don't ask) so I used maps to find a place fifty miles from my home in North Park. Campo Cafe, here we come! We stopped here for lunch while adventuring throughout campo, and we really were not disappointed! The burgers were great! Juicy and flavorful and it's a huge portion especially with the fries and milkshake combo. The staff was nice. The place is actually really spacious, it doesn't look that big from the outside. Since we had some down time before our train ride at the nearby museum, we stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. My French dip was really solid and the onion rings quite delicious. The portions were generous as well, as I rolled out of there feeling pretty stuffed. The place itself isn't much to look at. You order at the counter and then take a seat in the oddly spacious dining room. Perhaps it's used for events -- that would explain all of the empty space between tables. (?) All of the staff were incredibly helpful and nice. It would be nice if they did something about the glare on the digital menu board -- it was awfully hard to read the menu. There was also an awful lot of throw away plastic waste -- the au jus and BBQ sauce came in to go-style thick plastic containers that seemed a bit overboard. It'd be nice to use something either reusable or less wasteful. With solid food and such nice service, though, we'll definitely be back the next time we visit the train museum down the road. read more

This is a little local spot. We happened to stop by here by chance after visiting the Pacific Southwest railway museum. They have all the food items you would imagine to be at a little cafe, they also have some hand scooped ice cream and local pastries they offer. The service was pretty standard, I came in with a group of 5. Our food came up pretty quick, and we all left very satisfied. There's plenty of parking, and a restroom available to use. After waiting and waiting, one half of the couple stuck his head into the kitchen to check on how their food was coming -- learned no order in! The foods a hit or miss. Either undercooked or burned it seems. Sometimes it's really good and the sandwiches are amazing with the fries and other times there's like nothing on my sandwich, the veggies and meats are bare minimum and for the price, come on. If you're low on a product just say you ran out and I'll order something else happily, I understand. But the prices are bad considering the costumer service. Also please stay consistent with ingredients. One day the pizzas awesome, the next there's no cheese and the dough is undercooked and there's no sauce. I keep giving it a try because it's good some times but it's not worth it anymore I'll be taking my business to the sandwich shop that never fails and has stuffed sandwiches I never finish them and worth $10. This is a nice little restaurant near the train museum in Campo. It always seems to be busy for lunch and dinner, but the service is fast and friendly. The family that runs it has been out here in Campo since 1981 and they also operate the Campo Green Store. The cafe itself is well decorated and goes pretty strongly for the whole "industrial chic"look while still being rather cozy. It has some outdoor seating for you fresh-air types. The food is as good as it gets for a "mom and pop" cafe, and the owner Chris really keeps the quality of his offerings high. My recommendations are the pizzas, the ciabatta, their Boar's Head sandwiches... and any of their specials. Of the latter, I have had their tacos for Taco Tuesday and their fish n' chips special (Fridays). They have pulled pork on Wednesdays, I believe. Though I have generally focused on lunch and dinner here, they have a nice little breakfast menu that I have tried a few times. Get the pancakes! read more

The food here is okay at best, the pizza looks like it has very little cheese. The owner bought this restaurant a couple years ago and changed the ingredients to the pizza and other foods. The quality of the food has suffered, I am just one of many people who know this to be a fact. Not worth the money but it is the only restaurant in the area. Nothing bogus here unless I choose to lie, I do apologize that the truth (facts) does not go over well with you. Downhill since June of 2024. My favorite were the 5 piece chicken tenders. I used to get decent size tenders, it would fill up half the take-out box they provide, but now it looks like chicken fingers. This happened not just in one or two occasions but 3, 1 called once just to let them know that the portion does not match the price but l was kept on hold for roughly 10 min and then it got "cut off". The last straw was when I ordered an 18" pizza (around 27 drs), and they gave me a small ranch cup, I nicely asked if I could get two more (since IT WAS AN 18" PIZZA which can feed 2-3 people), the lady said sorry I can't, new policy only let me give 1 per food order. I responded - "but it's an 18" pizza". . She responded - "There's nothing I can do". (BTW it was not the owner or his wife, they're nice, it was an older lady, seemed like she was having a bad day). Ileft the ranch she gave me on the counter and said "wow, never-mind, just keep it all". That was the last time I was there. I haven't been there since beginning of August. Now I make the drive to Alpine for my tenders and to Lake Morena for my pizzas. It's a little more inconvenient but worth the trip when I get what I am paying for. read more

We waited 30 minutes for two blended coffees and a pastry! That's after waiting about five minutes while we watched the girl making other coffee orders. The girl that helped us didn't communicate much. Didn't even greet us while we stood there. There were food orders that had been ordered AFTER our simple order that were done before our coffee! Terrible service! It's sad that there are not too many businesses here on the mountain but that is no reason to have such a long wait for coffee orders or have bad survive. Now that the cafe is under new ownership, everything is awesome. My family and I come here often. The menu has expanded and it's all very fresh. The food is no longer greasy and old tasting. They are now open on sundays which we love because we like to walk over and get fresh coffee and breakfast. However, the pitfall is that there are long phone wait times to order and 2 of 3 most recent orders have been incorrect. When I called to discuss what took place I waited on hold for 11 minutes and gave up. Additionally the cashiers often have trouble multi-tasking causing even longer wait times.
