Really nice worker and the drink was pretty good! The grapefruit grape tea was a really interesting and refreshing drink.

what an awesome little spot just off to the side of the street. it sits on the corner of the side…read moreroad to which we turn in to get to Casa Encinares B&B. It's an outdoor wooden shack, no doors. we noticed it because there was a sign that said "beer" and we saw lots of people there. our host at the B&B told us we must try it before we leave, so we did. as soon as we sat down at the bar, a big tall gentleman came to greet us. he spoke perfect english and made some awesome recommendations. BF had a couple of beers (cant remember what they were, but i believe it was local), and because i wasn't planning on drinking more (we just got done with a small winery tasting tour), but Chris recommended i try the cocktiel de guayaba, its a bourbon cocktail with guava! It was only 40 pesos and if the owner recommends me.....why would i refuse? we were super hungry so we wanted something light and Chris recommended the pulpo ceviche (100 pesos). My drink was ridiculously tasty as i am a huge guava fan and the bourbon balances the sweetness of the guava with the liquor. the pulpo (octopus) ceviche was wonderful and delicious with just the right portion and served with thin tortilla chips. Chris was so kind and chatted with us almost the entire time we were there. i HIGHLY recommend stopping by here for a quick drink and light bite even if you are here to explore the wines in this wine country. my only mistake was that we came here after having drank so much already from visiting all the wineries!

I have to write another one here bc I've filled out the survey for this place 3 times talking about…read morewhy my experience here had elevated to 5 stars. BECAUSE of LOU. He's the most awesome manager! Excellent service! A good manager! And works hard. Every time im here losing thousands of dollars, Lou makes me feel soooo much better! The lobster is divine! I eat about 30 just to myself, granted they are half lobsters. Lol. The service is excellent and everyone is so kind and lovely. I hope management recognizes what a gem Lou is!!! Ill always come here to eat the good food and bc of Lou!

I have been to the Tony Gwynn Sports Pub twice. The first time it was a regular sit-down restaurant…read moreand was great. But my most recent visit was for one of the special "endless dining" options. On select nights (Wed-Sun), they offer different endless dining options. I went on a Saturday, which was a "Surf & Surf" menu. LOTS of seafood items to select from, including lobster tails! Honestly, I loved this place. It was expensive ($75 per person), so I don't know that I would do it often, but it was a nice treat. The restaurant is not a traditional buffet, so that setup is a little strange. There is a main buffet line, where the staff will plate the food for you. And then if you want salads, oysters or shrimp there is a separate station for that, across one side of the room. And a dessert station on the other side of the room (I almost missed this one!). The over all theme of the place is a sports pub. So there is a bar and tons of TV's showing all the popular sporting events. And of course there are tons of Padre related memorabilia and images on the walls to enjoy.
