Great service & delicious mocha frappe! Not too sweet with good coffee flavor with just enough mocha that does not overpower the roasted coffee flavor.

Service is impeccable and the cafe de holla latte, im speechless! So so delicious and creamy. I chose regular milk but they gave all the options. Ambience is quiet and family oriented.

The coffee here is great. I haven't had a drink I didn't like. Lots of variety and non dairy options available. Good quality beans. Friendly service and the place was cute. Dropped by between shopping.

I don't know why I hadn't been to this market sooner. They have everything you need for your cooking needs. Even for your party needs. They sell candy, pinatas, cookware, traditional Mexican dishware, cheeses, teas, freshly made tortillas, fruits, veggies.... and so much more. I personally go for the nopales (cactus) and these amazing little vegan flour tortillas (made from oatmeal). But that might change as every time I go I find something new. Oh yes one more fav.... the coffee! They sell coffee beans or grinded, but in the middle of the market there is a cafe called Mexico te Despierta El Hidalgo. The coffee is SO GOOD! This is a must if you visit.

This location wasn't here the last time I came to the mercado a couple years ago. I decided to try it out and see how it was and I gotta say, it makes American coffee shops taste like dirt and cheap sugar. They use coffee beans grown in Mexico and let you know what each strain is on their menu. If you're a foreigner and don't speak Spanish or have someone that speaks Spanish, you're gonna have a hard time ordering something. I ordered a frappe because it was getting hot and didn't want something hot or iced. I ordered the Oreo Frappe. It was 50 pesos which was about 2.50 US Dollars. The frappe itself was creamy and not heavily sweet. You can taste the blend of the coffee with the Oreo cookies. It was mixed well and there are no chunks like you usually get in other places. No small chunks of ice neither in the frappe. They put an Oreo on top with the whip cream to give it an aesthetic look. The location itself is an island compared to the rest of the Mercado. It's looks like a spot you'd find in Portland, but way more expensive.

During a midday trip to the Mercado Hidalgo, we needed a caffeinated beverage to get us through the remainder of the day. Since this was the first place we spotted, we decided to try it based off the stellar reviews and it didn't disappoint! I love that all the coffees are locally sourced and they show what beans they use in all beverages. They match up the coffee beans with a sticker icon on the menu board so you can see what exactly you're drinking. Even someone like me who doesn't speak much Spanish was able to put two and two together and it was cool to see the product first hand before we consumed. We went with Americanos and they were fantastic. You can tell they know their coffee as the drink was super smooth and not the least bit bitter. No cream needed and I wish I had ordered a larger cup because I loved every drop. Though they have limited seating, we chose to take ours to go so we could experience the busy market around us. If you're looking for shade, they have some benches outside of the shop adjacent to some of the only restrooms. It's a good place to get off your feet while taking refuge from the sun. I'll for sure come back when at this shopping area!

The best coffee and hot chocolate. I can't wait to go back. . The customer service are amazing people. They took their time to explained how the coffee is prepared. The hot chocolate is way different from USA. I recommended it to everyone.

The coffee here is great. They offered us samples of the different varieties of coffees that they serve. We even ended bringing a bag back to Canada! Definitely give this place a try if you are in the Mercado Hidalgo area!

Best coffee ever!! Can't wait to go back! Starbucks was #1 now #2 for me!! Wish we had in USA!

One glance at top coffee spots in the area and we were sold on Malvia! We called an Uber to take us over. Once dropped off on Avenida Revolución we read in other reviews that the shop can be a challenge to find - but we are a persistent bunch and figured it out. Here are simple directions to locate it: find the gastropub La Justina on Revolucion and walk down the stairs to the left of it. Then proceed forward until you see the unmistakably unique and cute decor of Malvia on the left. There are several tables outside then the coffee bar space at the store front. All the drinks looked delightful and it was a tough decision to select just one drink. A friend opted for an iced drink with coconut and espresso, I chose the "Dorado" which featured turmeric. It was sumptuous and refreshing - with a gold appearance from the turmeric. The espresso was tasty and there was just the right amount of sweetness. Super refreshing and highly recommended. Service was kind and prices are super reasonable. The sitting area was unique too - there's other neat stores in the area and the temperature was nice since we were underground. Overall, Malvia was excellent and definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the memorable experience!

The first few times I had come to grab a coffee, Malvia was either closed or I was just unable to find them. If you are using Google Maps my best advice is to get to the corner of Madero and Third and enter one of several doors which will lead you into a large market style space. Malvia is about a shoe-boxed sized cafe in Zona Centro. There are several tables in the front with seating for probably around twenty. On the afternoon of a June day I visited and ordered an iced latte. It was 45 pesos and probably around twenty ounces. It was very delicious and I was happy to sip on it while I walked to Gastro Telefonica. Malvia definitely fits into to the Tijuana craft coffee scene and I highly recommend you stop by to try out a caffeinated drink.
