Ugh, I hate going with the two stars, especially for a small-town local-owned business, but I feel like the 5-star reviews are misleading. We stopped by there for breakfast when the casino restaurant was not open yet. I was hungry and said lets go and see what its like. The restaurant is attached to a small convenience store, no probs there. But, the whole place smelled like grease. It was not pleasant and the small restaurant area was kind of foggy with grease smoke hanging over the place. Everything was sticky. But we powered on, because the reviews are so good. I wanted breakfast and the husband wanted his usual BLT with a salad. Neither were great. The BLT failed to arrive with a salad, instead came with fries. (MORE GREASE!) My biscuits and gravy were not pleasant. The biscuits were soft and ok, but the gravy was very gummy. I was just super disappointed and I feel bad about that, but it's the truth. I think some upgrades are needed and maybe the lunch and dinner meals are better, but the breakfast was disappointing to say the least. read more

When my wife and I moved to Boulevard, one of the first things we did was check out what places there were to eat at or buy things like snacks/alcohol/etc. To our surprise there are about 5 spots close to us to choose from, that are all fairly decent, and sometimes surprisingly good. The reason we go to Matthew's 90% of the time is simply because of the customer service. I've moved over 80 times in my life and I don't think I have ever experienced the level of local/family oriented/catering service that these guys provide. Matthew and his son (who own/operate the restaruant/store) always greet you with a warm smile and a hearty welcome. They take the effort to know my preferences and always remember what I like. On multiple occassions they have noticed a potential problem with something they provide and have gone out of there way to take care of me, even when it wasn't necessary. There are stores and restaurants closer to me, but I have become a loyal patron of this establishment simply because of how they treat me. Honestly in surprised anyone goes to any other place in the area, but I guess everyone has different values. The pizza is the best in the area, the cigarettes are the cheapest, the food in general is high quality (and some of, if not the cheapest prices), the propane is the cheapest, the alcohol is fairly priced (I get a 1.5 liter of wine for $6.50!) the customer service is through the roof. We were at this restaurant Sunday morning, when we arrived around 9:30am we were the only family inside, we got our order taken and all of a sudden everybody arrived , I mean the place went from our family of 4 in one table to all the tables full in less than 30 min lol , glad we were the first ones as they got really busy.
