Stopped by while on a road trip & it was packed! Service was great & we didn't wait long for our food given how many people were there. Great place to stop for a good old fashioned burger. Burger was nice & hot! (Leaving 4 stars since some of our fries were slightly undercooked). Still regretting not getting a milkshake lol. We stopped on the way back to Arizona after visiting San Diego. If you want to use a restroom, it's across the street at Pine Valley Park or Valero Gas Station. We ordered a Kids Meal Combo with a corn dog and a Coney Island dog with a coke. The total was $21.35 Yes, the wait was long, but not too bad. However a guy ahead of us got a refund because he had waited an hour. The corn dog was yummy, but kid size. I'm not sure if we'd ordered a regular if it would've been bigger, but the Coney Island dog was similar in size. Very good chili on that dog. The fries were tasty, but considering the orders were a little backed up I was surprised to find them a little dried out. It was 91 degrees out so even though we sat at the tables with umbrellas, we might've been a little more comfortable sitting in the car, but I was worried about my hubby eating his chili in my new car. Overall, a nice pit stop for a new experience, but I can't highly recommend. Oh, the staff was friendly and there was a nice young man at window when I picked up our order. Made this as a roadside stop on way to San Diego after my daughter sent me the tik tok video. The chocolate shake was delicious. Onion rings cooked fresh and hot served with ranch. The iced tea is unsweetened with a fruity flavor. Seating is outdoors with some umbrellas. Other tables in the sun I would not be able to tolerate. They play 50s/60s music. Service was pleasant. The food is prepared quickly and comes out fresh. The food is pricy but it is pretty large portions. The burger was juicy and plump and I love their crinkle fries. Awesome spot we like to stop at on our way back from Julian. We have had the shakes, hamburgers, fries, onion rings and corn dogs. Can't complain, it's all delicious, the hamburger and corn dog were on the small side but we will still stop here again. They have plenty of tables. There can be a bit of a wait on the weekend but we don't mind that. We didn't see any bathrooms on the premises-however there is a gas station directly across the street. We will be back! read more

The patty is thick and just with a nice char, the buns are toasted and as you eat they get soft because won the juice and sauces on the burger so it's impossible for it to be dry. It's delicious, they have really gotten better since remodeling and all I ask is please add more onion if it's grilled because yall out like five tiny chopped pieces but your burgers are too good to be stingy! And the fries need to have the OG filled to the brim bag because that's always the best part:) And their milkshakes, my husband and I go every other weekend, probably since summer started we'll go every weekend for one because they're so thick and they're one size and every flavor is too notch! Was on the way back to San Diego from Campo and decided to stop for lunch at Frosty Burger. I ordered the Mountain Cheeseburger Combo that came with a drink and fries and also a Chocolate Shake. My coworker and I were the only customers and it still took a while for them to cook up the burger, fries and shake. I did like the fires and chocolate shake was thick and decent. Nothing overly special with the Cheeseburger but I did find myself extremely thirsty for the remainder of the afternoon. The place does bring back some nostalgia for burger places of the past but the food was only decent and it was somewhat pricey. read more

Drove 4 hours to try it just for a very average burger that is NOT worth $10+. Asked to remove onions, tomatoes, and pickles on the side, and they completely forgot and didn't even give the pickles (also didn't put even lettuce on my burger). The fries were completely undercooked and tasted like they came out of a costco bag with no seasoning. We asked if they could make a grilled cheese (or just a burger with no meat) and was rudely declined and said it would just be toasted bread. The only reason they get two stars is because the onion rings were decent, but will definitely not be stopping here again. Could get pretty much the same burger at any other fast food restaurant for better price. I'd suggest to keep driving and finding a better spot where the food is worth the cost. read more

Came here today about 4 pm. It's a Sunday, you can tell on the weekends it's all teenagers and kids working. But they got the job done. The girl up front with bun pigtails was super nice and funny. There was 2 guys on the grill, and another girl making the ice cream. It was busy, everyone was wanting their weekend ice cream, and cheeseburger. I ordered a bacon Mt cheeseburger, fries and hot fudge sundae. It was good. I live in San Diego when I'm out this way, I love stopping and getting a treat. Yes the prices have gone up, but so has inflation. I mean the nearest biggest grocery store from Pine Valley, is Albertsons in Alpine. So they got to travel to get things they need I'm sure. Came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. We waited about 30 minutes for the line to die down before going up to the window to order. Apparently they were only taking 2 orders at a time before helping the next customer. My husband and I ordered for ourselves and our family and friends ordered separately. My brother was next in line and the staff member opened the window to take his order then just slammed it closed in his face without saying anything. VERY RUDE! *Side note as we were waiting for our food another couple had come up to the pick up window twice because their order was made incorrectly. Finally, we received our food. My brothers order was up & ready and they didn't give him the correct order. He ordered a combo cheeseburger (drink &fries), a mountain burger, & onion rings. They girl behind the counter said they didn't give him the fries because he upgraded to onion rings. THIS made NO SENSE because on his receipt it had down a normal order of onion rings. My husband and I ordered onion rings and was charged the same as him, so no it was not an upgrade. So they claimed that was for the combo upgrade instead of fries. My brother was going to order fries because they were going to make him pay for it even though he was charged a combo. Unfortunately another customer was complaining on their order of fries and heard, they were waiting for them to remake their correct fry order, & so they told us to have their fries. Such nice people to give them to us when they heard the nonsense they were giving us. The young man handing out the food behind the pick up window was very nice. We asked for ranch at the window when ordering and when we reminded him he went to grab us our ranch. The woman in the back yelled out "they have to pay for it!" We were kind of shocked because we did ask for it when ordering our food. Then she yelled again "don't just give it out charge them, charge them!" The young boy ignored her rude comments and gave us the ranch we ordered. There is outdoor seating, most seating is in the sun. Some seating is covered by an umbrella. The tables were clean. The burgers were good. We all enjoyed them! The fries and onion rings were okay but kind of greasy. Bottom line, if you come know that the service is not going to be great & you WILL wait a good amount of time to order plus time waiting for food~45 mins. Pine Valley CA...where the 1980s came, and never left! Frosty Burger is vintage America, places like this rarely exist anymore. The exterior is somehow cute and creepy at the same time. The menu is basic American...burgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings, and of course ice cream. $11 Bacon cheeseburger combo...this bacon cheese burger is American as it gets. Tasty meaty beef patty of questionable quality, yellow american cheese, shredded lettuce probably from a bag, couple faded tomato slices, crispy bacon, and good dose of mayo on a white sesame bun. You've all had this classic burger at some point your lives. Not sure how, but the crispy thick fries are very white, not golden, but white...tasty though! Had a spicy chicken sandwich and chocolate shake today at Frosty Burger and they were both great. The sauce on the chicken sandwich was really good, and the shake didn't disappoint, with real chocolate plus chocolate sauce. Service was quick and really friendly. Yes, the items are a bit pricey, but it's a small-town, locally owned restaurant so I went in expecting to pay more than your average chain in the city.
