The coffees are coming out better and service has improved. I would like to see more ingredients added for some of these croissant and crepes menu items to increase the flavor and quality of your food establishment. Overall the environment is still cozy with warm-like colors. You can read novel books that they have on their front takeout area as you eat . read more

The Spanish speaking barista and wait staff here are incredibly friendly in talking my order in Spanglish. I am always grateful when people try to work with you through language barriers with a warm enthusiastic smile. I tried the Mexican mocha latte costing $8 out here in the valley. While the espresso was a bit thin and weak, I did appreciate the effort of the barista put in filling the latte art with cocoa powder. It turned out a beautiful drink nevertheless. The space is also decked out with artifacts from different time periods that adds a variety of character to the cafe. read more

I recently relocated to Calexico and today I discover this beautiful café just next to the border. My cousin told me about it so I brought my Tía for an after dinner treat. It's a beautiful café with a unique decor celebrating the life of Frida Kahlo with some of her famous quotes on the walls. They also have two other rooms with a unique theme. The menu looks great and we ordered the chocolate caliente and a crepe "memories" filled with Nutella and cream cheese topped with strawberries and banana. It was definitely a hit. The service was great and the young staff was very attentive. We will be back to try the chilaquiles ! read more

Cute, comfy and fast service. How many coffee shops do you go to with lavender walls? In an area with a plethora of Mexican restaurants, try something different. How about crepes? The service was fast, delicious and large portions. Very small cafe, but outdoor seating or food to go. The decor is delightful as are the menu choices. Close to the border and a great stop if you are going through the Calexico border crossing or need to go to Calexico to get a Sentri Pass or Global Entry interview. Try it, you'll enjoy. read more

Second time trying...I had "hope"...but no, huge letdown, not worth the money nor the wait. Frida crepe, not enough filling(chicken), asked for no cream cheese, they forgot, had cream cheese. Cranberry chicken croissant was a joke! Thought it was mayo but it was some weird buttermilk/ranch dressing with cranberries "sprinkled" on some dried chicken so beware it's not a cranberry chicken salad inside the croissant it's all dried thrown together. Wow! Look no further for lunch or coffee in Calexico, what an absolute gem!! I am a mole connoisseur and their Frida crepe with mole negro was phenomenal! My fiancé had the poblano and I absolutely loved his as well. Service was amazing, drinks amazing--I had mango passion fruit lemonade and he had oat milk iced coffee. Delicious and so refreshing when it was 115 outside. They have AC and adorable decor. You will not be disappointed! read more

I went about 2 weeks ago. The service wasn't the best, food wise. I ordered an oreo milkshake, which ended up being made fast, and it was really good. When I was ready for grilled cheese, the waitress was ready and fast about taking my order. Receiving my order was the bad part. I waited about an HOUR for a simple GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH!! When it finally arrived... WHAT IS THIS? It was a basic meal. Toasted white bread, mayonnaise, and cheese. From what I heard from an employee, it was supposed to be more than what I had gotten. I was disappointed with having to wait a lot more time than what they had stated as to when the order was going to be ready. I also ordered a sweet salad and asked for chicken to be added to the salad at an extra cost. I was even more disappointed to see my salad when I sat down ready to eat. Very little fruit. Picture shown shows the fruit on top with very small pieces of strawberries. but nothing much elsewhere. The chicken I asked to be added was all crumbled and flaky, with no real way to eat it except for it to be scooped up by a spoon. That white you see is the chicken. This review is for the El Centro location since they don't have a yelp page, and this post about their service is probably why. They sat us down and didn't come to us for a drink order until 15 minutes later. It was only when they took our food order did they ask us for drinks, but when another group came and sat down after us they received their drink order promptly. Apparently their paninis are premade because the one I requested wasn't already made and offered to either give me the one that is already made or make it as a croissant. When the food finally did arrive (we only ordered an egg toast and the premade panini, still arrived later than necessary), the nachos on the side were cold and the panini tasted microwaved (warm on the edges and cold in the center). The only saving grace was the waffle we ordered which, luckily, was made fresh. Would not come again, I'd rather go to iHOP when the food is at least served fresh and the drinks arrive when we sit down. read more

The decorations, the atmosphere and the food is amazing. It's like a get-away from everything. I got the Morning Crepe and it was so filling, I couldn't finish it. One thing I'd like to recommend. Not putting straws in drinks. Some of us don't like straws. Some of us have our own straw. I wanted to use my persona straw but they already had one in my drink. Terrible customer service. I called to placed an order & whoever answered didn't know the Hope Cafe Combo menu. I arrived 25min later to attempt to pick up my order. Nothing. I waited and 2 people didn't do anything to help with the order I placed over the phone 30min prior. I left without my order. When I sat there I asked for napkins because you never know what accident might happen and it did, I spilled a little bit of coffee but the napkins never came until after my food was there. My food took one hour and 30minutes to come out so I went to the front and asked how everything was going, someone in the kitchen replied that it was because the restaurant was packed (which was not, there were 2 more tables). when I told her that I saw some other table get there, eat and leave before we did, she then argued about how that table transferred from another table and that was ok but my point is if she is the one in charge she shouldn't argue or talk back to costumers. Then when I was about to pay she (the girl with the curly hair) answered a call completely cutting me off letting me know that any call was more important than a face to face costumer. read more

One of the cutest most homey but in a good way cafe that I've ever been to. And I'm comparing to places from all over the world. Never expected to find such a cute little place in a small town but I'm glad I was craving pancakes and my hotel told me about this place. I think their yelp rating does them a dis-service. I would have expected them to have a 4.5 stars rating for sure. Service was amazing 5 out of 5 Food was delicious, I got the Memories Crepe 5of5. I'm in love with their atmosphere, so cozy. The background music is perfect also, I don't know if they play their own playlist or what but I want that play list. Service was ok. I think female server could have a little more friendly. Eggs couldn't be ordered over easy due to sty of stove but they made it happen!! Decor inside was cute. He was so kind and helpful and attentive he really made an effort to be personal and friendly! He has made this last visit by far my favorite! This little creperie in my hometown is very unique. It was built into what looks like a home, painted, fixed up and decorated with lots of color and beautiful Frida Kahlo quotes and portraits. While I don't go very often, when I do visit I make an effort to go to Hope Cafe and Creperie because they have wonderful service and delicious crepes. Going inside and taking seat in one of the various different living rooms--different themes--you are treated very well. The waitresses/waiters are very attentive and make suggestions if asked, they make sure you are comfortable. This unique cafe makes me feel like I am having tea and cakes with friends, it's relaxing and overall just a sweet experience. My go to is a crepe called "Memories" it has cream cheese, Nutella, almonds, banana and strawberries. I opt out of the cream cheese because it is too heavy for me and I instead add on whip cream. It is divine. I always have it with a nice cup of unsweetened hot green tea. It's not only fresh fruit on top but the crepe itself is always nice and soft with a nice flavor akin to vanilla. I'm excited to go back soon, and maybe i'll go for lunch instead and try one of their other menu items because it's hard to let go of my favorite! read more

Once again, they never seem to disappoint. A crepe is always a must for my regular visits and this time I decided to try something new. The boneless wings were as expected, they were not the best wings I have had but I definitely enjoyed them. They were not too spicy which made it easier to enjoy. On another note, I have never tried these nachos but my oh my! They were delicious! I kid you not, me and my siblings ended up devouring this place in 5 minutes. The cheese itself was delicious and there was more than enough for each bite to be enjoyed as a true nacho bite. Their was also enough crema and I personally prefer that they added it as a scoop so that way each bite can determine how much crema comes with it! Overall such a great time and I am glad I tried more than just their crepes. I will definitely be exploring their menu more often because what they have to offer always seems to satisfy my belly! read more

This is for the new El Centro restaurant. I know it's barely your third day but you really need to get it together! We went Friday evening and the service was ok. We gave you the benefit of the doubt since you're a new restaurant. But we just went back this Sunday morning and sat there for a good 20 minutes before we even got a menu. When the waitress gave us the menus we ordered right away in hopes we'd get our food in a decent amount of time. As we waited people who were there before us were started to get upset. They started to get up and walkout. They said they had been for an hour and a half. More people started leaving, we were now at 45 minutes, no food no drinks either. At 1 hour we'd had enough, people were showing up even as others were leaving so I wish them luck. We were done at an hour. We went to tell the waitress to cancel our order because it was over an hour now and still no food or drinks. She smiled and said yeah I'm sorry I know. She smiled, really? Just sad cause we were really looking forward to a new restaurant opening up that is basically in our backyard that we could walk to. Sadly I don't think we'll be back. Good luck read more
