As a group of 6 we had a fun time here. With favorable customer service and Korean music and TV creating background vibes it's a comfortable atmosphere. They encourage eating everything you ordered in the restaurant (no leftovers) so come with a healthy appetite! The meat specials we bought were the ribeye beef bulgogi, premium LA short ribs and the garlic pork belly along with Ramen and kimchi with the soju flavored drinks. Overall, had a bad experience. I dined here when it was slow but it still took a long time to get our orders (1 appetizer and 2 dinner meals) and the server only checked on our table once. The food was decent but is very overpriced for what you get; especially with small meat portions. This may also be a pet peeve, but they seemed stingy with things like napkins or even when asking for some condiments like chili oil. There was an improvement of hospitality and service. The requests for condiments/extra food were being handled correctly and fast when asked. The food is still fresh and delicious for its value. Only complaint I have now is that they tend to run out of toilet paper or hand towel paper at the last 4 hours of business operations. The ventilation of the environment is still free of smoke since there's ventilation fans on the ceiling that pulls the smoke from the grill upwards. Really bad service. The seats were dirty. It's not even really Korean BBQ. The pillars were written with Chinese words. Took forever to get seated while there were many empty seats and took forever for the server to come. They gave us rotten lettuce and meat and didn't even apologize for it. The lettuce was also too tiny to wrap anything. All the meats were frozen. The beef tough were completely stuck to the plate because it was frozen with the plate. The squid was also unfresh that many parts turned brown. The stove wasn't hot enough and they didn't change the grill plates at all so it got all burned and black. They don't cut the meat for you or cook for you at all. They didn't give us oil to cook either. They didn't give us plates to eat with so we had to even ask for it. The stretch between SD & Phoenix is a Kbbq dead zone. I'm talkin 300+ miles. If it wasn't for Khan Korean BBQ. This space doubles as Sushi Park, and they'll ask before seating if you're in for bbq or sushi. The restaurant is way roomier inside than it looks from the outside. Your 3 AYCE options- Standard: Items 1-8, $26.99 Premium: Items 1-18, $31.99 V.I.P: 1-27 items $35.99 You start with 3 meats, then order more as you go. You got 2 hours to stuff yourself accordingly. I went Standard. The best items were Ribeye Beef Bulgogi and Spicy Pork Bulgogi, both thoroughly marinated. The Spicy Chicken Bulgogi was ok, but the non-spicy one had no flavor. The Premium Angus Beef Brisket was less impressive than its name. The staff was friendly, but it's clear they need more help. Our Soft Tofu Stew came at room temp, and the restroom needs some attention. They were quick with grill changes and bringing out meats though. Is it a good value? Perspective: for 1 or 2 bucks more than the Standard, you'd be getting 20-30 item choices at Gen Korean BBQ or Manna BBQ, not 8. The SD and Phoenix metro areas have both those chains, not to mention other Kbbq options. If you live in this area, Khan is serviceable. If you're driving between SD & Phoenix, you're better off holding your cravings till you see city lights. read more

The food and service has gone WAY downhill since it first opened. I believe the owners used to work at the restaurant with his family but has since started to rely on hire staff only. The last time we came here, we stood in the lobby for 15 minutes without being acknowledged due to short staffing. It also seems now like they also serve fried chicken? I suggest hiring more staff if you are going to be so busy. I've been to several Korean BBQ in the U.S. and South Korea. Each are unique and different in terms off ingredients and quality. This spot lived up to its 3.5 rating. The food was mid, sides weren't restaurant quality. The major issue was the stove. It kept going out and or server wasn't around frequently enough to light it every time it went out. So we ate on sides and drink while our protein cooked slower than normal. Then I told the server and they tried to tell me it was still on when I lifted the skillet and saw it was off- she had an attitude about the stove like I was making trouble. I've been here a few times, the most recent time was with a larger group of 10. It was by far the worst experience I've had compared to the last few times over the years. The food took over an hour to get to our table. The worst part is that only half of our table was served. 4 persons received their food and the other 6 waited about 45 minutes to receive their orders. A few sushi rolls and an order of ramen. The place was a little busy, but we constantly saw other orders coming out to the two tables which were similar sized party. I was told by the server that my food got mistakenly taken by another person. I informed them it's understandable and not to worry. I received my appetizer after the meal was served, about an hour and fifteen minutes from when I placed my order. I requested to speak with the waitress to inquire regarding some form of compensation or canceling the orders of food and the manager came out and told me no it's not possible. Visited 1/8/2022 This was quite the treat especially here in El El Centro. We started out with a sample of the house sake. Not bad. The hard part was not being able to eat more so we could've tried more of the meats. There is plenty of the food with each round considering you choose three entrées to start. The Ribeye Beef Bulgogi was spectacular in Textures, Tenderness, and marinated in a fantastic flavored Marinade. Servings are quite large. The Pork Belly was delicious as were the lovely Shrimps. The Deep Fried Gyoza (Dumpling) were also fantastic. Service was very good also with our waiter answering all of our questions and having the patience to teach us what everything on the menu was. As my wife and I were driving through El Centro, we noticed all you can eat Korean bbq. It made us wonder what would "all you can eat Korean bbq" would look like without competition or Asian customers. Granted bases of most all you can eat Korean bbq are the same. Frozen slices of thin meat that we cook on our own. But small difference that adds up is like Special sauce prepared for dipping in meat, things to eat the cooked meat with like kimchi and pickled, Radish, quality of the meat, like not overwhelmingly fat, ventilation of the restaurant as a whole. All of the above needs more work on from this place. But here is what I liked about this place. Staff was hard working. Made sure the grill change was done properly. Marinated pork belly was awesome. Price. And the fact that beef tongue was served. Really? I could request only beef tongue and I can all you can eat that from start to finish, and I am pretty sure I will be this restaurant's least profitable customer. If you've never had KBBQ before just know you'll be cooking yourself. After you get over the fact you'll appreciate what a gem this place is! They also do serve precooked meats if you want, but that takes away from the experience imo. The price and quality of meat is comparable to most kbbq places in la and oc and for being the only one in probably a 60-90mile radius it's damn good! Our server was a super nice attentive Korean lady, who did try and help us cook at times (but don't expect it). They are also super attentive in changing your grill! I try to get a grill change once I see the pan burning or after every order of meat (you can order 3 at a time plus any sides). MUST TRY MEATS! Brisket Beef tongue (different texture) Beef belly La short rib (my fav-super rich) Ribeye Bulgogi *Pork jowl* Spicy pork (bit heavy, but has a great jalapeño flavor) Chicharrones (pork tendon, will not crisp up like traditional chicharrones) Must try sides! Steamed egg (super fluffy and light!) Tofu soup (spicy soup with tofu) Sliced radish (must ask for-helps balance out the oils in the meat, like a palate cleanser) My personal preference when it comes to cooking is to get the brisket, beef tongue, beef belly, and pork jowl first. They're thinner cuts that don't feel as heavy and cook the fastest! Then I'd move onto the thicker cuts like la short rib, spicy pork, and ribeye. With the thicker cuts they have scissors to cut into smaller pieces. Make sure you cook both sides before you cut (much easier, TRUST). For the unmarinated meats, i usually dip in the sauces. My favorite is sesame oil with salt. Dip on the side so you don't get too much salt! They also have chicken and seafood options! If you get chicken just remember it'll take longer to cook since it has to cook all the way through vs beef you can eat med rare. Also you get free banchan and i love their selection! noodles, kimchi, fishcake, potato salad(mashed), and broccoli. These are refillable for free, just ask! I also like to combine ANY banchan with any meat and eat it in one bite for an explosion of flavors! I also mix the steamed egg in for a bite sometimes too! Just experiment with the flavors and find the ones that you like, you really can't go wrong. Also, try to have one designated cooker that is watching the meat or multiple so nothing burns. You can ask for an extra pair of tongs, if needed. *Pro tip- let this cook for longer, if you fear it might burn put them on the outskirts of the pan so there's less heat and the fat will render off more. You can also do this with meats that are done cooking but want to stay warm. read more

11/24/24: my family and I came in on a Sunday evening (this is my second time at this restaurant). Our server was great but we found hairs in our food. We found hair in the rice & pork. It was unbelievable that we found three hairs back to back. My whole family and I were very disgusted. We couldn't enjoy our meal and we honestly didn't want to eat anymore. The cherry on top was that the manger only discounted 10% off on 3 out of 6 meals (which was only $8 off from the $189 bill). The manager made it seem that it was us that put the hairs by the way she was explaining the chef has short hair. Which was honestly bad customer service. My first red flag should've been the room temperature miso soup, but I continued my meal and when we received our appetizer I bit into a frozen chicken gyoza, we expressed our concern with the waitress and she brought back the same plate reheated, minus the one I spit out. We decided not to eat the appetizer and they were kind enough to take it off the bill. First time here. Hubby and I went for lunch on Friday, the day after the 4th of July. We loved the place, the massive renovations that were done. So clean, bright, and modern. I don't remember the name of the business that used to be located at this same building (it's been at least a decade), it was a family-oriented restaurant with arcade games intended to entertain the kids ala Dave & Busters elsewhere. The staff was polite, and prompt about checking with you (if you need more refills of your drinks, or more meats, if you need a change of grill, or simply to make sure you're being taken care of). The lunch was $18.99. Drinks are extra. We loved the fresh taste of the iced green tea. Aside from meats, you will be asked to choose your sides--we chose a potato salad, broccoli (slightly pickled), and bean sprouts. We also requested kimchi. We loved the meats we chose--pork belly, beef bulgogi, spicy squid, tripe, beef belly. Everything we chose was delicious! The other customers seemed to order the beef brisket quite a bit. By the way, you do get a big plate of steamed rice. I was surprised we didn't order more meats than we did (you can ask for more, as long as you finish them all, and you can't take any leftovers home). We were more than fully satisfied with what we ate. We chose the icecream macaron sandwich as well as the tempura cheesecake (in other words, fried cheesecake!), for our desserts, which was a great ending to an already wonderful lunch experience. All in all, we enjoyed our first visit and it certainly won't be the last. Looking forward to going back. Lunch again, most probably. Dinner is $24.99 as of this writing. You do get a bit more variety of meats--for example, beef tongue, pork rind, pork jowl, plus everything that is already offered for lunch. Delicious food! Our server, Rosy, was very attentive and nice, food and drinks arrived super fast. The amount of meat they serve is three times what we usually get in San Diego.
