We were there for my son's birthday and I can't say enough good things about them. The hostess and the servers were very friendly and the hibachi chef was super entertaining. I remember when hibachi restaurants first came to St. Louis. They were a big deal and they really put on a show, but in recent years it seems like they have become lackluster. These chef really go out of their way to entertain you during the entire cooking process. We really had a lot of fun; our chef was very personable and made my son's birthday special. If you let them know ahead of time that you have a birthday, they will come out and sing and beat a drum and give the birthday person a free dessert. Other hibachi restaurants charge you for the service but they do not. That's a huge plus. I brought my own candles and gave them to the hostess before our dinner and they had them lit on the piece of cheesecake when they brought it out. The chef cooked everything to perfection and their noodles and rice were also very good. The sushi was great too!

The staff was doing a great job. This was actually my first visit to Sushi Sen. I ordered the gyoza to munch on while we awaited the big show (we may have slightly over ordered for the two of us!). The gyoza were nice and crispy, the filling had good flavor. I wouldn't hesitate to order them again. Now to the rolls, in no particular order. Vegas, Fuji, Philly (fried), Crispy, Lake St Louis. I think the LSL rolls gets my vote for favorite of the day. Is it the avocado? The spicy mayo? Don't get me wrong, they were all really tasty. One thing, I didn't care too much for the texture of the cooked salmon in the Vegas and the cooked tuna in the Fuji, but I still enjoyed them. And if anyone is worried, they are using everything disposable. It's a been a long time since I have wine out of a plastic cup.

Ordered the lobster roll and I think it was shrimp tempura, miso soup, chicken katsu and green tea. We were delighted with a warm towel at the start and they even packed us a fresh batch of green tea to take home. There were a lot of options for adventurous folks who enjoy sushi. Not a lot of the basic traditional ones for more picky eaters or those just wanting to start trying sushi. It was pretty early so there were only a few parties inside but it started to pick up a little when we were leaving.
